    They put my EPR on a 3 and put the Autoset mode on soft because I was having Aerothagia… it no longer gives me full energy! Please help! 🙏🏻

      Try taking a look at another one of this guys ⬆️ videos...called : how to adjust pressure and other settings on the Resmed airsense 11.....
      The air pressure number is responsible for the air pushed in and the epr would be for the pressure when you exhale ...I believe

    • @RespShop
      @RespShop  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi, you can adjust the EPR and turn off soft mode in the clinical menu. We have a video showing how to do that on the AirSense 11: th-cam.com/video/VrSizofsmOA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=rn1B8rNSlcRUI4hd
      Hope this helps!

    • @RespShop
      @RespShop  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @KainsFleshlight Yes, you're right - air pressure is the amount of air delivered by the machine and EPR is the amount of pressure drop when you exhale :)

    • @casinocoinpusher
      @casinocoinpusher 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@RespShop i already turned fixed the settings but it gave me Aerothagia again. Would lowering the pressure stop this? Because the settings that give me stomach issues is what’s giving me full energy, the other settings didn’t, so can I turn my pressure to only go up to 6.0 ? Would that stop Aerothagia? Thanks! 🙏🏻

    • @RespShop
      @RespShop  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@casinocoinpusher Lowering the pressure can stop aerophagia but if you drop the pressure too much, it may not be enough to keep your airway open. Always let your doctor know if you plan to change the pressure and keep an eye on your AHI to make sure it remains < 5.

    Thank you for this video. I have a philips dreamstation. I do not see the EPR setting you speak to on my system. I use a ResMed quattro FX medium. When I exhale, the mask makes a "thumping" sound that is so annoying. It makes it difficult to fall asleep. Once I do relax or begin to sleep, and I am exhaling with less force, the thumping sound goes away. If I concentrate on exhaling slowly it does not make the thumping sound. Please tell me there is something I can do to make this thumping sound go away?

    • @RespShop
      @RespShop  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You're welcome! EPR is ResMed's name for the pressure relief feature. On Philips machines it is called Flex (C-Flex for dreamstation CPAP and A-Flex for dreamstation auto CPAP).
      The thumping noise you hear comes from the one-way valve in the elbow of your mask. It makes a thumping noise when it closes after a forceful exhalation. Unfortunately, the best way to prevent the thumping sound is to exhale with less force.
      Try increasing your flex setting so your machine drops more pressure on exhalation and see if that helps prevent the forceful exhalations.

    Where is EPR setting! I have trouble breathing out with ResMed 11

    • @RespShop
      @RespShop  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can adjust EPR in the clinical menu. We have a video showing you how to access the clinical menu: th-cam.com/video/VrSizofsmOA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=0u0QBt237nE8OAJD
      At 3:56, we talk about EPR and show to adjust it. Hope this helps!

    Im having trouble exhaling. So just to clarify if I set my epr to 3 it will make it easier to breath out, correct?

    • @RespShop

      Yes, that is correct!

    so is bipap better for example a pressure of 12 with 3 epr on cpap vs bipap ipap of 12 epap of 9?

    • @RespShop
      @RespShop  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Unfortunately, We can't determine what is better for you. Only your physician can do that. Also, you would need an RX to change your machine or settings.

    What about the epr setting ramp only or full time, you didnt talk about that? Mines set to ramp only so ill leave it there but besides the obvious in the setting names, whats the difference

    • @RespShop
      @RespShop  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thank you for watching! EPR ramp means EPR is on only during ramp. EPR full time means it's on during ramp and after ramp is finished. You can experiment with the settings to see what works best for you. Some people don't even use EPR at all.

  • @mattstroker3742

    So with epr they are just cutting wattage to the motor a bit. Why not cut it off completely or even reverse slightly? No problem to design a motor with that capability, including ramping up again. I can even imagine storing the energy from the exhale and using it again. Just some weight increase to the device itself would occur but I suspect the amount of people that would be successful in their therapy and stick with it would increase by multiple 10s of percents.

    • @RespShop
      @RespShop  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It will be in the clinical menu of your ResMed device. If you do not have a ResMed device you will need to contact your provider as other manufactures have the same feature but it could be called something else.

    I got more ahi with epr, so I switch it off. I wonder why.

    • @RespShop
      @RespShop  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It could be a number of reasons. If your EPR was set to 3, it could be too high of a drop in exhalation pressure. Or ask your provider what types of apneas occurred while having the EPR on.
      Thank you for watching!

    Machine settings via iPhone? Where can I find that app??

    • @RespShop
      @RespShop  ปีที่แล้ว

      This is using the app for the ResMed AirMini, you can watch a full video on it here: th-cam.com/video/UMAXzOB8d2k/w-d-xo.html
      Many CPAPs have accompanying apps these days. Which machine do you own?
