I loved the way you still subtly slipped a busted combo people might not be aware of into the video with the LV/LV twist. Very well done. Definitely made me want to watch more!
Couldn't all the other players respond by activating Lethal Vapors a slightly lower number of times? Then when the protection wears off you've got at least one opponent who's time walked you 10 times.
@@reynthyme9868 Sometimes yes, but not if you activate it on the player's turn who goes right after you. This way, you are last in priority, and because of rulings regarding players making repeated actions, you get final say. So DON'T activate it on your turn.
but since everyone can use this ability, wouldn't all other players be able to just skip the same number of turns (minus 3 or 4 to get a massive advantage over you)?
@@jonassanoj3045 yes, you'd need another card to prevent them from doing that, like Grand abolisher. Of course if you pull this bullshit out of nowhere on you commander table it is perfectly possible that nobody thinks of doing that before it's too late.

This video is incredibly clever - I can't stop rewatching it. I think I noticed small details even up to the sixth runthrough (like "never pay the 1", which makes perfect sense given his situation).
@@heavyonthemustardplz Paying the one usually refers to tax effects like esper sentinel or smothering tithe. If he's delayed his turn indefinitely however he wouldn't get an untap step so every remaining untapped mana is vital for counter spells. From what I can interpret at least.
@@AstoranSolaire What? What does that have to do with anything? First of all I'm not talking about one mana, I'm talking about one mana per trigger over infinite turns which adds up to a lot. @@VeggieWagonI love how far you went with this one. Memento is one of my favourite movies of all time, and the way you included the "reversed scene order" and "notes on the body" was really charming. ❤

wow, this was amazing. like seriously thought provoking. i'm straight up impressed. probably thee best magic skit video for entertainment purposes i've seen. i compare this video to rhysticstudies youtube channel, that's how much i like this.
Does Lethal Vapors work like that? I'm pretty sure multi-activation of it would not make you skip multiple turns, its not like Stun Counters, you just apply all of the lingering Skip Turns at the same timing right?
Lol if I put all this work into a video only to not make sure the combo worked, I’d die. It most definitely works, skipping turns does not apply to the same turn
IIRC skipping turns is a replacement effect, where it replaces starting your turn with not taking a turn, but the remaining skip replacement effects can't apply any more (there's no event to modify since you're no longer taking a turn) so they wait to replace the next time you would take a turn to apply, until you're out of replacement effects.
Even though your life total can't change, Commander Damage could still end the game for you, right? There also might be some 'you can not win the game' or 'you lose the game' permanent shuffling that could happen with a non-targeting card, possibly, maybe, perhaps?
TefPro giving you Protection from Everything means that all damage that would be dealt to you is prevented. In order to die to commander damage, there would need to be an effect like Questing Beast's that stops damage prevention- your life total still won't change but commander damage (or infect!) will count. Other outs against Lethal Vapors: 1) Your opponents can activate it in response for the same number of times, skipping just as many turns and essentially nullifying it. So to be effective you should pair LV with Grand Abolisher, to block them from doing that, or Kadena's Silencer/Whirlwind Denial to counter your opponents' activations after the first one resolves and LV is destroyed 2) if opponents have a way to recycle their library, like one of the shuffle Eldrazi or even a Zenith spell they can keep casting to shuffle in, they have 1000 turns to sculpt a perfect board state and kill you when you finally start a turn.
This only applies if your commander specifically says that its damage can't be prevented. Otherwise, your only out here assuming it's already happened would be an alternate wincon (or giving your opponent an alternate lose con) or having a way to throw things back in your library repeatedly or, similarly, a way to skip your draw step
@@cooltiger2439If you have protection from everything, you can still lose life to "each opponent loses X life" because it's not damage and it doesn't target. Now Teferi makes sure your life total can't change, but you can still die to non target mill and if Damage can't be prevented, you can lose to infect and commander damage, even if your life total can't change.
@@laytonjr6601non-target mill would work to empty their library (something like Consuming Aberration), but remember you also need to make them try to *draw* from the empty library in order to actually lose. Hopefully you have Jace Beleren or Temple Bell or something
The 'Don't eat too much taco bell' card falling off on the way out of the bathroom was more powerful foreshadowing than most modern movies.

Hehehe I have a brand 🤣 thank you!
Are there other cards besides Tefiri's protection that make this work? It's like 40 bucks...
I wouldn't say it's busted tbh, if your opponents have any cards that say "you win the game" you just lose.
Couldn't all the other players respond by activating Lethal Vapors a slightly lower number of times? Then when the protection wears off you've got at least one opponent who's time walked you 10 times.
