its going to be many decades before gas cars are obsolete, unless someone pulls out a magical new design for the batteries EVs require, and as much charging infrastructure as there are gas stations are suddenly built.
electric cars will be obsolete before. they are not the future in any way shape or form, and do more damage to the environment. we will all be using an alternative fuel source like the one Porche is producing within the next 5 years, tops.
@@mizaqenyad4269 It depends on where you live. If you don't live in an area with a viable infrastructure for EVs then yes, that is a valid point. If you do though then I don't see the purpose of buying a gas car unless you cannot afford an EV. EVs are just superior in every way. @@haircafekevin i get where youre coming from that these cars are the way of the future, but i dont think they are superior in every way. They weigh too much, handle and brake poorly, and seriously lack power at speeds over 100mph. And even their most impressive performance statistics, their 0-60 times are easily matched my many many stock and lightly modified modern sports cars. They are only superior utilitarian wise, if you drive little enough to never have to charge it anywhere but home. They are very expensive to repair, and even basic repairs cant be done at home. I think the future will be dominated by ICEs and especially hybrid vehicles for a long time before electric is the primary choice of the masses. And i believe it will be even longer past that before electric vehicles are the primary choice commercially/ industrially.
Beautiful car. Sharp edges, mean looking - very aggressive and contemporary. It has a wide body out of the factory which I think is a very strong move from BMW What can’t you like?
It's pretty simple. The higher the number, the bigger the car. The series with an X in front are the all terrain lineup (usually SUVs / the SUV/sedan hybrid (bmw x6 for example)). Otherwise they are all sedans/coupes. Edit: if there's a d after the number model than it's a diesel, if there's an i then it's gas. If there's an m Infront of the model number like M850i than it's an "m sport" model which means it's in between an M car and a normal car. And obviously if there's just an M and a single number after it than it's the M car for that series of models. Each series has a single M car. So all the 2 series has the M2, all of the 5 series has the M5.
I feel like the true BMW m car doesn’t make sense any more, at their price range there are just better, more pure drivers’ car options. I think a lot of owners of the new M cars are just using them as a daily and never track them anyway, they just happen to be able to afford a M car. I would argue that for the most part, the M performance lineup is the core of BMW right now, they are luxurious, fast, fun enough for public road, and you probably won’t care about that connection to the car that much if they aren’t the true M cars.
3800 LBS for the M2 is completely ridiculous. This should basically be the size and weight of a Toyota GR86, just with the usual M performance treatment and chassis tuning. BMW has totally lost its way.
Cant do M4-sized brakes, adaptive dampers, torque vectoring electronic rear diff, etc etc without adding tons of weight. Cars are getting heavier with tech.
@@AmbitBand Then get rid of the adaptive shit and just tune it to be a great sports car. Driver's cars don't need a bunch of tech and a million different driving modes; old M cars and even old regular BMWs prove this fact perfectly. TBH this car was a MAJOR step backwards. I fell like a lot of car manufacturers are doing this, they make a new version of a beloved car that is the worst in most ways, only to continue improving it over a certain number of years, so they can charge more for the car that should've been released initially. I mean we praise them for keeping a manual option around, well I freaking expect that. That is what the M2 is all about, civilized madness. The unsung daily hero for that car enthusiast. What’s your go pro settings? It’s so clear
The new Hero 11 is awesome
Wow great car
It weights as much as a cross over suv.
Why is a M2 as heavy as a M4?!
If I close my eyes it doesn’t look as bad
TKS
When the bmw is on with the carbon fiber bucket seats it won’t move the seat forward. I don’t know why this is, they claim it’s so it doesn’t accidentally crush the driver but it has a seat weight sensor so. Bmw.
Hopefully they'll make an aftermarket front bumper
too dope
You're so right about the climate controls in the back that's hilarious
this or supra for fun factor?
Supra
By far the supra. And I love bmw (minus the last 2 years).
Should make your own channel !

manual ❤❤❤❤❤
We're only a few years from "manual" meaning manual HVAC controls 😂
As if the exterior design wasn't already polarizing enough, that hideous "curved display" perched on the dash like an afterthought makes this car absolutely un-ownable for me. Currently have an F87 and I'm the type who has always liked to get the latest/greatest of a car that I really like - but this is a giant step backwards for BMW here IMHO.
The previous gen M2 was the last real BMW ever made. Bmw no longer exists. Maybe the m850i is still somewhat a real BMW but at 100k is pretty pricey.
The car isn't broken in, shouldn't be doing 0-60s, other than that great channel and great vid
It’s crazy to think this is the golden bmw. Straight 6 rwd and manual transmission and it still isn’t exactly fun to drive
Because it's bloated and looks hideous. Just get the previous gen M2, that's the last true golden bmw car ever made.
Then where would your money go? As far as this segment, it's this, an RS3 or a45. The bmw is just a better machine imo
What were they thinking putting those 2 giant squares on each side of the front end?? That takes up all your attention when you look at the front. Looks absurd.
I think gas powered cars are obsolete but I still like this and I appreciate how the manual transmission is standard.
its going to be many decades before gas cars are obsolete, unless someone pulls out a magical new design for the batteries EVs require, and as much charging infrastructure as there are gas stations are suddenly built.
electric cars will be obsolete before. they are not the future in any way shape or form, and do more damage to the environment. we will all be using an alternative fuel source like the one Porche is producing within the next 5 years, tops.
@@mizaqenyad4269 It depends on where you live. If you don't live in an area with a viable infrastructure for EVs then yes, that is a valid point.
If you do though then I don't see the purpose of buying a gas car unless you cannot afford an EV. EVs are just superior in every way. I think the only reason people who can buy EVs buy gas cars instead is because of politics. They see EVs as associated with left wing politics so they buy gas cars to "own the libz."
Can you do Honda Prelude next?
Beautiful car. Sharp edges, mean looking - very aggressive and contemporary. It has a wide body out of the factory which I think is a very strong move from BMW
What can’t you like?
the lego bumper
@Jeffrey S haha Lego bumper thats a great name for it
BMW and Mercedes car line ups are so confusing. So many different models.
I give bmw some credit. Thier cars actually do look different model to model. All mercs look the same.
As a former ‘17 lbb M2 Manual owner, no thanks.
And of course, you don't need M4-size brakes if the car isn't almost 4,000 LBS.
@@tyler9703 yeah, but the market wants tech in cars. Also, remember BMW is a luxury brand, so in certain way, they have to follow the demand. I just cant accept the looks, the car feels like a toy or a lego car.
If we really get a 2800lbs 450+hp m2 that would be a suicide machine for me lol😂
there's no way to chop 1k off this thing and have it be a modern bmw, that's the problem with how they are now. i miss the golden era of bmws too.
2023 BMW M2 6-Speed Manual 50 Years Special Edition Coupe!
They put in the S motor and all it did was make this car absolutely useless under 3500. For the entire first half of it rev range the car feels like a 2003 Chevy S10 (at least in manual form). No accountant buys the M2, if they go for BMW over Mercedes or Lexus in the first place then it certainly isn't going to be the M2.
jeeez the rear end looks ridiculous
