It's one of the only times I've found out about a promising authors work coming out and that it was not made somewhat notably difficult to keep up with the works progress... im not sure about everyone else but I've noticed TH-cam updates might work better for me keeping up with stuff than having to remember to check the books website 😅 🙃.
Ya know, this song fits the Kiv as a whole- they're older than anything in our universe, as they existed before it (maybe even caused it), and saw our species rise from specks of primordial dust into what we are now. Their nature is all but savage and hostile to ours, and they likely see our species as little more than easily broken nothings too bent on looking at each other and screaming than getting shit done. After all, we're only human.
That is true, but I also like the subtle hints that while they deem man as inferior they're fascinated and perhaps even envy humanity because our lives are not weighed down by enteral melancholy. We chase things we want because we know we don't have much time to live, even if what we're chasing is nearly impossible to achieve. We are the innocent naive children to the Kiv's bitter yet solemn existence. It's a great and interesting duality between the two races.
Very similar to the tales of the fae, the fairies a number of other such fantasy beings, a few even referring to humans as dustlings, dirtmen, a number of terms all derogatory or in regard to aspects of religious creation beliefs. What's interest to me is that in every instance of such radically differentiated idealization between a mortal and immortal rave is that at some point that immortal race tested the mortal one and were bested. In some cases it is a singular mortal that does so and seemingly achieves higher immortality. Hence the what would seem to be slightly angsty tolerance is more in actuality the learning of a harsh lesson and or that the teacher is still very much available to give a lesson. Of course I don't expect this to be the case in the terms of the Kiv or in regards to this literary piece. Still, it's an interesting, reoccurring theme to me.
Damn, this feels like a step up from past ones. The camera movements and angles are very nice. I love the designs of these two as well. Teazzer has such a nice design (that mouth/jaw/cheek is stunning) and Bazzil is so different in form than the rest of the cast in an awesome way! The way these two interact is great! Can't wait for the book! I don't even reach much anymore but, I want to get back into it.
Yeah, that curled toothline is pretty interesting looking. I'm not sure how she'd eat something but still it's looks like a cross between stage make-up and nightmare fuel but makes the viewer pay attention.

Teazzer’s mouth seriously intrigues me. It’s design is not only horrifying but beautiful. The mercurial nature of that smile is just the cherry on the cake. You never cease inspiring. Keep it up!
Rewatching this after reading Amygdala hits different. I mean, all these characters featured in these animations show up in the book, some more than others, but I don’t know. I think it’s because I went from seeing Bazzil and Teazer here singing “They’re Only Human” to seeing just how close they are to each other in the book and thinking the exact same thing about them if that makes sense. Sure they’re both brutal and violent when they need to be, but the quiet moments in between the battles, like Teazer struggling with what I believe is dyslexia and Bazzil gently encouraging her really solidify this feeling. They are “human”
I love the head movement of you characters. It’s hypnotic and unnatural. It makes them seen like something humans wouldn’t understand… it give a lot of expression to them.
I cannot get over how fitting Ryuk's scrawly rat voice is so voice fitting for Bazzil's design and Rem's angelic tones fit for Teazzer. Also I love their designs and dynamic with each other so much.
Outstanding song and performance!Bazzil and Teazzer's dance animations feel very lifelike and in synch from their avian and feline qualities and while it looks like they're contending views back and forth, they still love each other despite their differences. I am also curious on what the Kivic symbols mean which is a nice touch in the test.

Stop I LOVE them, Bazil's design is so unique and interesting. Almost a mix of bird and insect, and teazer is feminine yet also strong and intimidating. Not to mention the animations and how amazingly fluid all of the movements are. Also a perfect song choice for their reveal, LOVVVVE them. (Edit, yes Bazil had autocorrected to Brazil. Get tf over it)
I get Skeksis vibes from Bazzil, and Cheshire Cat vibes from Teazzer. They have such wonderful designs, and as usual you've chosen a good song for their animation test. Kudos, Fennah. I look forward to your book when it's released.
I like to look at each design and try to find little tidbits in the character that might have caused something in human's world. Like look at Lucy! She -radiates- a cat chaos of the cheshire cat and mad hatter.
I wasn't expecting the Cheshire grin on Teazzer! I love that! Love that you were able to have the lips move with it too! And getting some serious Skeksis vibes from Bazzil!
This is some stunning character animation, and designs are fantastic. Teazzer will likely kill me, but design wise makes me feel, some kinda way. Hotdamn.
The animation is so smooth and graceful, I admire how you got their personalities within the body language itself alongside the marvelous song choice.. I love how these two are play fighting with each other, makes me think they’ve known each other for ages, partners in crime in a sense, mentor and student, maybe lovers(?) The song, in relation to the characters, gives me people of the slums vibe, the underdogs of society, one bitter and clearly finding amusement in the situation(Bazzil = Spine cane), one bitter, with a gleeful touch of mocking pity. (Teazzer = who has such a wonderful grin).
The one with the spine cane is Bazzil. Teazzer is the cat with the split jaw. Also, they’re indeed lovers. For centuries they’ve tricked unfortunate souls by hanging cloth/jewellery down in front of them, then killed them. Oh, and Teazzer turns their victims’ bones into jewellery.
I can't wait for the day that someone with a ton of money and film influence commissions you for either a full feature length or even better an ongoing series. Your work as always is stunning and I am envious of your talent. Please, please never stop creating.
To me the kivoachs have more in common with humanity then they want to admit, they have squabbles, fits, complex emotions and relationships like us, they have feelings of happiness, sadness, jealousy, hatred, anger and sometimes project their own hidden feelings on to others not unlike us. Ludwig and his friends & family (Dysfunctional in desperate need of therapy) are also represent to me the plight of refugees they had to flee after their home was destroyed and live in a now world with cultures languages and costume radically different from their own, and are still struggling with it all after countless years. I think talking to other People like a immigrant support group would help.

However, there's also a possibility that living on Earth is slowly changing the Kivoachs, making them develop a semblance of humanity and turning them into better people but refusing to admit it. I mean, look at Fontaine, Shuck, and Ludwig, the most atrocious and immoral of the Kivoachians, who have become less like their old selves. While that could be chalked up as traumas of the Mandus conflict, it's still a possibility that living on Earth has also made them different people, except for Lucy Lacemaker and Locket (They will never change for the better).
I haven't read the book yet, but I'm FASCINATED by these characters, both their designs and how those interplay with their actions on these videos. Bazzil's entire being is reminiscent of a plague doctor, between his beak, the long coat and the hat, not to mention the bone cane. Profession which is infamously rife with associations to isolation, anonymity, and death. But during the video in many points he is the first to turn towards Teazzer, or reach out to her. And Teazzer, while her long curling smile is an iconic part of her design, I'm more intrigued by her scars and what they imply. She has obviously seen some violence, and you might expect a character like that to be wary of others. Yet she constantly puts herself entirely in Bazzil's hands, letting him lift her up, dip her low, twirl her around... It's very clear theat there's a great deal of trust between the two. There's even what looks like some playful ribbing as he pokes her with his cane, and then as she snatches it away from him, he doesn't try to grab it back, he just takes a hold of it while it's still in her grip. All in all with just this short bit of interaction it's very obvious that these two have a close bond, and I'm bursting with curiosity to find out how exactly it plays out.

I love how stylised yet realistic everything is. All the little details and even extra intricacies in the clothing itself (The spaces for Teazzers ears in her hat) just make me inexplicably happy. Awesome work!
I absolutely love these two. I especially loved the plague doctor representation. Bazzil looking like a crow or raven which are birds that represent ill omens and death and wearing a style of clothes and cane that are associated with the plague doctor look. He's a perfect match to represent death and disease, a fearsome sight to many.
The choreography is just as amazing as the designs. There's so many elements to be considered to make this. An understanding of rhytm, choreography, light, etc

My god, this is beautiful beyond words in so many ways I’m dumbfounded. From conception to execution - these are characters to “fall in love with,” as they so aptly - fecitiously - jest in their lyrics! What an amazing feeling of attraction between them and for them…just, wow.
your animation has really gotten better. it used to be a bit over-animated and too fast of movements. it looks more natural now. although I kind of like both ways because the over-animation is unique. but if you are going to animate the whole book of The August Few, stick with this because it's safer and you could always do side projects like the music videos with the unique animation style which is cool. animation of the whole August few would be cool but I would rather have that one audiobook/drawn slide show style than a regular book with only words. I don't follow your stuff too closely except when you do animation tests and stuff about the books, but I can't wait until the book comes out... I will definitely read it. I say that because I don't even know if you plan to do either for the whole book, but that would be cool and I would pay for it. (either way being animation or audiobook slideshow). infact, I would rather have the audiobook with the same guy and hand drawn slides because it was more immersive. or maybe a combination. I'm not sure which would be better though until I see it.

Omg think I found two new favorite characters in this series. I absolutely love how unique they are from the others, and what striking personalities they have. I can easily see both being extremely headstrong and possibly conflicting in personality, but they manage to get all lovely dovey when they probably have fun doing what they do…. Catching thieves by using their loose hanging jewelry dangling from their pockets and using the VERY UNFORTUNATE AND FOOLISH bodies like playthings…. God I can watch a whole years worth of videos on these two! Absolutely love them Fennah! Definitely in the top with Winifred, Yeshua, Lucy and Celia!
The Animation is Abosulty Fantastic as always and the Cloth movement was extremely impressive!! I am so excited to see them in action in the book!!! However Teazzer felt very flat looking to me, like her fur had very little Texture compared to your Lucy or Winifred modles?? Mabye it was just the stark lighting on her but her fur felt more like skin then fur. Anyway I am happy to see these two come to life and I can't wait for the book!

To me the kivoachs have more in common with humanity then they want to admit, they have squabbles, fits, complex emotions and relationships like us, they have feelings of happiness, sadness, jealousy, hatred, anger and sometimes project their own hidden feelings on to others not unlike us. Ludwig and his friends & family (Dysfunctional in desperate need of therapy) are also represent to me the plight of refugees they had to flee after their home was destroyed and live in a now world with cultures languages and costume radically different from their own, and are still struggling with it all after countless years. I think talking to other People like a immigrant support group would help.

However, there's also a possibility that living on Earth is slowly changing the Kivoachs, making them develop a semblance of humanity and turning them into better people but refusing to admit it. I mean, look at Fontaine, Shuck, and Ludwig, the most atrocious and immoral of the Kivoachians, who have become less like their old selves. While that could be chalked up as traumas of the Mandus conflict, it's still a possibility that living on Earth has also made them different people, except for Lucy Lacemaker and Locket (They will never change for the better).
I haven't read the book yet, but I'm FASCINATED by these characters, both their designs and how those interplay with their actions on these videos.
Bazzil's entire being is reminiscent of a plague doctor, between his beak, the long coat and the hat, not to mention the bone cane. Profession which is infamously rife with associations to isolation, anonymity, and death. But during the video in many points he is the first to turn towards Teazzer, or reach out to her.
And Teazzer, while her long curling smile is an iconic part of her design, I'm more intrigued by her scars and what they imply. She has obviously seen some violence, and you might expect a character like that to be wary of others. Yet she constantly puts herself entirely in Bazzil's hands, letting him lift her up, dip her low, twirl her around...
It's very clear theat there's a great deal of trust between the two. There's even what looks like some playful ribbing as he pokes her with his cane, and then as she snatches it away from him, he doesn't try to grab it back, he just takes a hold of it while it's still in her grip. All in all with just this short bit of interaction it's very obvious that these two have a close bond, and I'm bursting with curiosity to find out how exactly it plays out.

I genuinely can’t wait to be able to read this book. I love all the characters so far. Even though they’re so clearly fantasy, their actions, inner dialogue, and personality make them feel so real!
I love how stylised yet realistic everything is. All the little details and even extra intricacies in the clothing itself (The spaces for Teazzers ears in her hat) just make me inexplicably happy. Awesome work!

I absolutely love these two. I especially loved the plague doctor representation. Bazzil looking like a crow or raven which are birds that represent ill omens and death and wearing a style of clothes and cane that are associated with the plague doctor look. He's a perfect match to represent death and disease, a fearsome sight to many.

My god, this is beautiful beyond words in so many ways I’m dumbfounded. From conception to execution - these are characters to “fall in love with,” as they so aptly - fecitiously - jest in their lyrics! What an amazing feeling of attraction between them and for them…just, wow.
your animation has really gotten better. it used to be a bit over-animated and too fast of movements. it looks more natural now. although I kind of like both ways because the over-animation is unique. but if you are going to animate the whole book of The August Few, stick with this because it's safer and you could always do side projects like the music videos with the unique animation style which is cool. animation of the whole August few would be cool but I would rather have that one audiobook/drawn slide show style than a regular book with only words. I don't follow your stuff too closely except when you do animation tests and stuff about the books, but I can't wait until the book comes out... I will definitely read it. I say that because I don't even know if you plan to do either for the whole book, but that would be cool and I would pay for it. (either way being animation or audiobook slideshow). infact, I would rather have the audiobook with the same guy and hand drawn slides because it was more immersive. or maybe a combination. I'm not sure which would be better though until I see it.

Omg think I found two new favorite characters in this series. I absolutely love how unique they are from the others, and what striking personalities they have. I can easily see both being extremely headstrong and possibly conflicting in personality, but they manage to get all lovely dovey when they probably have fun doing what they do…. Catching thieves by using their loose hanging jewelry dangling from their pockets and using the VERY UNFORTUNATE AND FOOLISH bodies like playthings…. God I can watch a whole years worth of videos on these two! Absolutely love them Fennah! Definitely in the top with Winifred, Yeshua, Lucy and Celia!

The Animation is Abosulty Fantastic as always and the Cloth movement was extremely impressive!! I am so excited to see them in action in the book!!! However Teazzer felt very flat looking to me, like her fur had very little Texture compared to your Lucy or Winifred modles?? Mabye it was just the stark lighting on her but her fur felt more like skin then fur. Anyway I am happy to see these two come to life and I can't wait for the book!
