I've heard this song many times, but today something new stood out to me. It was the way he was playing the harmonica, I could almost feel him crying. His breathing in and out while playing felt almost like a sob. Really powerful song and an incredible performance. Its always cool to me when something new jumps out of a song that I've listened to many times.
Whiskey Myers is part of the Red Dirt Country from Texas and Oklahoma. I think yall would enjoy delving into the bands and singers from this type of music.
Just so you don’t make a common mistake, Whiskey Myers is a 6 member band. Their live shows are incredible. They can rock the shit out of you with one song to making you want to grab the bottle on the next one! Check out their song “Trailer We Call Home” or “Reckoning”

Growing up in southern TN i saw meth abuse consistently from family members to friends in highschool. Really sad and horrific. The most painful was fentanyl overdose which is even more horrific.. Saw 3 very young friends die in the period of a few weeks this year from fentanyl overdose from taking small amounts of laced pills. One that was very close to me and it's been hard to cope with. Say no to drugs guys. I don't care if your back hurts or not, go to a doctor and only take what he gives you and don't take anything else. Fentanyl is widespread and is dropping people like flies. Don't put your family or friends through this, it leaves people like me wondering what I could've done to change the outcome.
I much prefer the live version of this song. Same thing with Blackberry Smoke's songs called "Ain't Much Left of Me" and "One Horse Town". The studio recorded versions are electric, but they have live acoustic videos of those songs, and they're great.. They kinda remind me of Lynyrd Skynyrd in some ways.
Fellas, go watch Benjamin Tod. “Paper and the ink”. Trust me… he’s a part of Lost Dog Street Band too. Between him n them, they got some downright killer tunes.. I’m sure you’ll enjoy. At least my buddy on the right, there, will feel them!
They call this type of music Red Dirt country. go look up the Texas Music Scene and you'll find artist like Wade Bowen Cody Jinks Stoney LaRue William Clark Green. there are so many Texas artists. also check out Blackberry Smoke, they areout of the Carolinas
