My one doesn't have a lock ring but has some sort of lock knob you can tighten on the bottom of it but all that seems to do when tight is stop you from rotating the handle down again. It also goes from 0 - 12 rather than 0 - 9 which makes no sense to me given it's meant to be metric!
I had gotten a yamaha chappy a pw50 and a yamaha moto4 quad they have been sitting for 10+years cleaned the carb out and fuel lines/ petcocks were all gunked up and now the pw and the chappy start 1st try using my hand on the kickstart. Now I started to work on the yamaha moto4 I noticed there was no spark plug I called the yamaha dealership in my area and picked up the stock plug for it but it wouldn't go in the hole I noticed theres an insert in the hole that's keeping the spark plug from going in is there any advice or knowledge you can give me I'd really appreciate it thank you.

shane, do you have an idea on what would cause all 4 slides in cv carbs to rapidly bounce like a dribbling basketball below 3500 rpm on a 4 cyl bike after it gets up to running temp? bike stumbles all over itself trying to take off from stop lights, i've tried everything i can think of, problem driving me nuts....

My wrench starts at 28 on the scale but the box said it started at 20... can I safely twist it back by 8?

shane, do you have an idea on what would cause all 4 slides in cv carbs to rapidly bounce like a dribbling basketball below 3500 rpm on a 4 cyl bike after it gets up to running temp? bike stumbles all over itself trying to take off from stop lights, i've tried everything i can think of, problem driving me nuts....
