    Hey man, fantastic video.
I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you. Your Blender tutorials are some of the best I have found on TH-cam and I feel like you deserve way more subscribers than you have currently. All your tutorials have a great quality to them, easy-to-follow demonstrations, are very informative, and are helpful for picking up new skills within Blender to use on my own in the future.
Every time I get that notification saying you uploaded a new video, I go watch it right away to see what knowledge you have to offer. You never fail to deliver excellent tutorials. I have learned so much from you, and I cannot wait for more tutorials to come.

You can improve this shader by plugging the output of the Mix into the displacement via a multiply math shader with a value of .2. It will have a real anisotropic refraction just like brushed metal does.

Could someone help with a question I have? I am using this tutorial for several matte painted brushed metal surfaces on an object, and one of the surfaces is white. This has worked great for a light grey painted surface, but I can't get it to go any lighter than that. Could someone tell me what I need to adjust in order to append this texture in a project to use it as a material?

Hello Blender Made Easy, I'd like to thank you for your amazing tutorial. It was really helpful! I have a question though. What changes do I need to make in order to obtain a smooth, non-brushed metal without scratches? I'm working on a model whose shell is made of a smooth metal with just a subtle layer of dirt (kind of like a brand new smartphone after the very first use to verify if it works, that your fingerprints start showing up on its screen).

this is great, but i was wondering how you set up the image texture in the world shader. It seems to be the only reason mine looks weird but I can't set it up to have the same settings because they simply don't exist xP
Edit: worked it out, but my metal still looks really flat.. like it's all one colour, barely any reflection from the scene, ect. any ideas?

If you want this stretches on real world elements like crapping poles in a bus, then you have to deal with bends and that means UVs.. no way around that,. do that so often.

Dumb question, and I realize a lot of these texture tutorials help us make "smart textures," or modifiable nodegroups, etc...but this specific tutorial. Um, would it work as an unbrushed steel base color if I just left out the brushed texture. I'm doing an annoying personal project that for some reason is going down a long rabbit hole about metals, and coatings, and galvinization and powder and paint and plastic, lol. Nailing down what "bare metal after coming out of the oven, as it were" seems to be harder for me to find. Anyhoo...if anyone sees this and has a few seconds to ...oooh, crud, I just saw a procedural dirty metal tutorial. Nevermind, carry on. Or help. Or enjoy your day.
