  • In this 8K BTS episode we travel from North Gate to Third Bridge in Moremi Game Reserve. We film a male cheetah hunting impala, run into some hippos at night, and Rob does a walkaround of the vehicle stabiliser system, then we film some moving shots using the Red Komodo camera.
    Episode 1: • Overland to Khwai | Bo...
    Episode 2: • A Baboon in my Tent | ...
    Episode 3: • North Gate Moremi | Bo...

    Behind-the-scenes shot on GoPro Hero 9. For the telephoto wildlife shots we used a Canon 200-400mm f4 lens on a Blackmagic Ursa Mini Pro 12K. Moving shots from the vehicle/boat were shot using a Red Komodo 6K with a Sigma 18-35 f1.8 or a Canon 100mm macro.
    Filmed by Andy Caldwell and Robert Hofmeyr. Edited by Robert Hofmeyr.

    Nice vid bro but i'm confused moremi game reserve and khwai concession are within okavango delta ? Or they're diffrent places

    • @MovingPicturesAfrica
      @MovingPicturesAfrica  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Moremi game reserve is very large and extends into the delta. Khwai is to the North-East of Moremi and has rivers and swampy areas, but is outside the Okavango delta.

    Insane shots of the cheetah. Are you shooting all this for some production, or is it for your private purposes?

    Fantastic footage. What settings do you use for filming? Mainly frame rate and shutter speed? Keep shooting video, I love watching. I have been to Africa 3 times and hopefully after covid I can return. Bob

      Thanks Robert. I normally shoot wildlife in 50fps slow motion, with shutter speed around 1/120.

    Love your videos. Amazing set up. Really like your door bracket. Did you make it yourself? I use the Gimpro but just bought the Eckla which I will try next month.

    • @MovingPicturesAfrica
      @MovingPicturesAfrica  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Alpesh. Yeah, it's a custom bracket I made to fit the door of my vehicle. it's very solid. I've looked at the gimpro and it's a nice mount. I've never seen the Eckla in person. Currently I'm working on the ultimate mount: full replacement filming door for the Land Cruiser. It will take me a while to build it though.

      @@MovingPicturesAfrica Thanks. Would love to see you guys in person if it materialises. Check out the Eckla as they have enhanced it with suction pads. I have a love/hate relationship with the Gimpro due to weight and depending on car door shape it tends to slip off on bad roads. Keep those amazing videos coming guys!

    Wow Great Video :) im planing this trip next month ;) im driving from Kasane to Savuti - Tshaa - Khwai - Xakanaxa - Third bridge -> Maun. How many fuel you needed? Should a make a fuel stop in Maun before driving to Thord bridge? :) sry but I’m really nervous about the trip 🙈

    • @MovingPicturesAfrica
      @MovingPicturesAfrica  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry I just saw your post now. Hard to estimate how much fuel you will need. Depends a lot on the vehicle. I try to have a range of around 1000km. It's not hard to pop across to Maun to fill up since the bridge at Third Bridge is still not finished so you'll have to drive all the way to South Gate anyhow, but I would leave that decision till you are on the trip. BTW, I think you can fill up in Legotlhwana before heading to Savuti.
