- In this video, I take you through how to set-up a $1m FULLY REMOTE cleaning business.
This requires 3 key elements in how you structure your business.
1) The Business Model - focus on a flexible workforce, ideally with 1099 contractors.
2) Marketing & Recruitment - focus on online / digital channels to find clients and cleaners.
3) Day-to-Day Operations - use software as much as possible to allow non-local VAs / office managers to login wherever they are in the world.

Any questions, drop me a comment
Hello, first off I want to say thank you for the amazing content provided in this video. One main question I had was how do I acquire the necessary contracts for the cleaners to sign to prevent them from stealing my customers?
You'll want to include something called a "non compete" clause into your contract that prevents them taking your clients and/or imposing a penalty if they do so. The best thing to do is to speak to a lawyer or accountant in your area who can advise you.
What booking platform are you using to sync all the short term rentals with. Right now we mainly do it with texting the clients and it’s created a lot of problems on both ends
We use Launch27 but if we were starting again, we'd probably go with Zenmaid or Booking Koala
When using contractors, do your clients run into any confusion when they see a different brand show up for work? Since they click on your brands ads, do they ever have any issues when a contractor with a different brand shows up?
Not generally an issue as most cleaners will turn up in their standard (non branded) clothing for jobs. I can't remember coming across such issues in my cleaning business.
When you say VA what exactly does that stand for and how do you hire them?
Virtual assistant. They are essentially office managers who work remotely. You can find them on various freelancer websites like Upwork.
How do you handle pricing of the cleaning service? And How do you pay the cleaners and still make a profit?
You price your labour as a % of the revenue per client. This video explains more - th-cam.com/video/kpE4sW99FYI/w-d-xo.html
What if one of your cleaners causes damage, ie breaks an expensive painting or vase, who's insurance will pay?
We have company insurance that covers our cleaners
Hey I’m UK based,
During the sub contractor hiring process, what are all the documents they need to give/sign?
Also would I be responsible for taxing their pay or would they submit their own tax after I pay them before tax?
Thanks in advance
You'll need a self-employed contract for your subs. And yes, their own tax would be something they would need to sort out in their annual tax return.
Do I get the cleaning clients first or hire the employees first? How do I juggle the both?
Get your marketing channels set up BEFORE you hire your first employee (Google LSA. Bark. Thumbtack), hire your first cleaner then turn on your marketing to get their first clients asap. We tell them it'll be a week from signing up with us to get their first job. This gives us enough time to book in their first jobs. We can also spend that time onboarding them so it doesn't feel like time wasted.
Hi Sean, i have my own agency and using bark to get leads, through cold calling and pretty much struggling to get any. Is there any other way to get leads?
Thumbtack, Google Ads, Google LSA are a few others
Thanks Sean, God bless you
@First2Grab No prob 👍
Does the client pay when the cleaning is completed or they make a deposit before starting the job and they balance up upon completion
We take their card details upfront when booking the job. When the job is completed, their card is automatically charged.
How do you estimate/quote the jobs if its all remote?
We have a fixed price based on the size of the property - th-cam.com/video/kpE4sW99FYI/w-d-xo.html
Do you have anything in place to stop the contractors stealing your clients?
Good question. 1) we have an anti-compete clause in our contract, and 2) if we detect any significant changes in cleaner availability and/or their regular clients "cancelling" then this is a red flag that we'd investigate.
When you’re starting your remote cleaning company, do you have to register this as a business.
You can set yourself up as a self-employed person to begin with (earning self employed income) rather than registering a business straight away. I would give it a month to give you a feel of what it's like to find and manage clients and cleaners. If you like the first month and want to give this a proper go, then that would be when I'd register a LLC and set up business bank accounts etc.
What is a good minimum to begin with for Google Ads?
I'd say $1k/month ad budget. Below that you don't really get enough data to optimise the ad campaigns. This video might help you how to run a Google Ads campaign - th-cam.com/video/MEgJpcGssTU/w-d-xo.html
@@sean_parry thank you for the reply!
Hey, great content here ! Do you think this buisness model could work in an european country?
Yes, I'm UK based - and I've worked coached a number of business owners in other European countries using this model.
@@sean_parrydo you work with any US based companies?
@@MikeStallone Yes, 90% of our clients are US / Canada
how do u give quotes if it's fully remote?
you don't do walk ins
@@briciodiego Yep that's right, all quotes given over the phone. We quote fixed prices based off the number of bedrooms / bathrooms in the property
Do you have a course?
Hi there, we do currently have a waiting list but there should be some availability coming up soon. Email me at contact@project83.co if you'd like further info
Where do you mostly find cleaners? Any specific job site?
Indeed is where you'll find the most cleaners
I like it. I want to have a conversation with you!
No problem, feel free to email me at hello@seanparryconsulting.com There's some further info on my coaching program at seanparryconsulting.com if that's of interest.
Hello Sean, thank you for a wealth of information in this video!
When setting up this business model, do get an LLC in your home State to start and DBA in other cities? How does the legal set up of the business look?
@@StevenHennigan-bs8iq Yes, that's the general approach - but it can vary state by state. The best thing would be to speak to a local lawyer / accountant in your area. Most are happy to have an initial (free) consultation call.
How to price Airbnbs?

So you are like Airbnb you don't do the clearning, you are the middleman for the contractors and clients.
Yes, any businesses using contractors are effectively using this model
What's your cleaning company called? ... I appreciate the upload but i find it strange you don't promote your business on your youtube account or at least list it in the social links or even mention the name of your business itself in the video which is really odd ...
There's a lot of people such as yourself that sell course content as educators but don't have a single legitimate business of there own to qualify them to educate others on the aspects of what you're selling here, which is a plague on this platform, there's a saturation of educators with no proven record who prey on people's ambitions and just regurgitate second hand knowledge they acquire from others to create their curriculum, I hope you can understand where i'm coming from here i might be jumping the gun but if you got receipts that'll help you sell your training program ... you can't really be taking business advice from someone if they don't practice what they preach ... IF that is the case for you, then you've not only just lied to your viewers but thats also false advertising here.
Not a secret at all! I talk about it across my social media profiles - www.neatservices.co.uk/
