I have a V6 Rav 4 with a 230k miles, just had all the original coil packs replaced a few months ago because they were going bad about one every 3-4 months. Bit the bullet when the 3rd went and had them change them all

I had a similar problem on my 1991 BMW e34 525iA. Computer said "Transprogram problem" or something similar. But without misfire code. It was a big headache to find out the real problem. Eventually problem has been sorted out. Thanks for your video.

Can anyone help? I have 4 lights, (ADS, Brake, Traction, and AWD) on my dashboard that won't go off. All but the AWD are working. What could be the problem?

Same problem with the CEL’s on a V6 same year, no hesitation or misfires. Newer plugs, coils.

Good catch on that cracked coil. Difficult to see at first, but the crack is definitely there.

My friend, you made another excellent video and a nice inspection tip on coils. I bought a Denso radiator at my local Toyota dealer for my 2002 Tacoma 4x4. I was surprised that my Denso radiator was made in Taiwan. I have found that Taiwanese made aftermarket car parts match or exceed Toyota OEM parts and sometimes 50% cheaper. I prefer using Toyota parts, but if an aftermarket part is made in Taiwan and its lower cost, I will buy it and install it in my Toyota. I have found that O'Reilly sells quality made aftermarket parts.

I reset it by disconnecting the battery cable at night, and let the ECU (computer) reset, and hook the cable back up the next morning and it worked to shut off the lights and stuck 4WD (which is only supposed to engage up to 25MPH when it senses slippage)

I had the same coil go bad on my 2000 Lexus ES300 @ 215,000 miles. I replaced it with the same O’Reilly part and have no problems. Nothing last forever, but I believe mine went bad do to oil getting past the spark plug tube and worn Valve Cover gaskets.

@@ToyotaMaintenance You could save like over 120 bucks going to O'Reilly for 4 coils...big difference.

I had the check engine light come on, and the AWD system malfunction message. Checked the gas cap, fine. Checked the tires, fine. Checked the oil, fine. Checked the battery, fine. Took it to a mechanic and learned that rodents had chewed through the wiring on the intake manifold. They replaced the wires and covered them in tape containing capsaicin to deter the rodents. I am no longer leaving the car in the drive overnight, I'm parking it in my garage.

I had 2 coils go bad so far on my 1999 Lexus ES300. One at 160k, and one at 170k. Crazy thing is after the 160 one went bad, I bought a Denso spare. Didn't know I'd use it so soon haha. Car is at 197k now.

Hi, do all 4wd rav 4's have the diff lock button? If it doesn't have it does that mean it is 2wd? If it is slipping does the power get sent to the rear wheels to help with traction? thanks friend :)

Interesting video; thanks. Do you ask the customer first if they want to replace the part with a non-OEM part or do you just do it? DO you tell them you installed a non-OEM part? And how do you know the part is "identical" when you can only see the outside? Thanks.

Another way of checking that part is to simply swap it with the one on another cylinder and see if the misfire stops on number 3 and goes to the other cylinder.
Where are you located in case we need an honest mechanic. We have a 2009 RAV4 with low mileage.
