Holy shit can I get a amen? This is how it's done folks. Thank you Jamal. This has always been my favorite Zeppelin song. Don't know how may times I've heard it and it still jumps right out of the speakers and slaps me upside the head and demands I listen again. I will be 58 in a few months and it's just like the first time I heard it 46 years ago. There will never be another Zeppelin.

Actually the Beatles did NOT say that. George Harrison suggested to John Bonham that they needed a ballad. Jimmy Page wrote the first two chords of the Rain Song as a tribute to George's song "Something". Next time you hear Rain Song, sing "Something in the way she moves..." when it starts. That's the real story.

I'm 56 years old and at the age of 6 for the first time I listened to a Led Zeppelin song coming out of my older brother's vinyl. I was shocked!! 50 years have passed and since then I have been waiting unnecessarily for a group of this level to arrive.
Of this fabulous piece that I will have listened to thousands of times, I recommend listening to the original of the vinyl and not the live, with the rustle of the stylus spinning on the record! Every time I feel it I get chills and I get moved. For me this is the best song that has ever been written, the best of all time. These 4 artists had no and will never have rivals, their brains and their talents were too far ahead, in 1970 they wrote, composed, played and sang at a level that is still impossible to find in a band today.
Thank you for making us listen. Hello from Italy.

I remember going to see it multiple times. Incredible film. Imagine this on a thirty-foot wide screen. If you love Zep, you cannot miss that movie. Kick back sometime and watch the whole thing. It's the one chance you'll have to see an actual Led Zeppelin concert, presented with the best film techniques of the time. Two and a half hours, all of it incredible. @@anthonykargoglou7205 Interesting. I would not describe Plant's voice on this as "weak" in any way. There are many, many frontmen who would give their right nuts to sound that "weak." He has certainly sounded cleaner in other versions, but the grit and power--the willingness to force his voice past the breaking point to add soul to the sound--is one of my favorite aspects of his singing. Plus, you never know, or knew, what you were going to get out of him in any particular gig, especially from '73 on. Same for Page, actually. It's Bonham and JPJ that were the backbone of all of it.

Just found your channel and I LOVE IT!! As far as Led Zeppelin goes, you’ve seen Plant’s singing and Jimmy’s guitar but you really need to see why John Bonham is considered the best drummer of all time... check out the live version of their song Rock and Roll from Knebworth 1979 and his drum solo at the end won’t disappoint! 🔥

August 1980 over here. 😁 I always think of my mom when I hear zeplin. I grew up to my mom listening to zeplin, full volume while we cleaned the house. If she wasn't playing a zeplin vinyl, she'd be playing and singing their songs on her guitar. My warmest childhood memories of my mom. Last Christmas she gave me the guitar she used to play zeplin for us on. Like zeplin, she is a legend and still gets down at 63yo.

OB Old Fart checking in. You chose a GREAT Led Zeppelin classic. 3 points:
    1. I'd say this is more southern than western. Zep loved their blues.
    2. You chose a concert staple. There's nothing like this live. It's a great example of a song that wasn't on the radio, but played at every concert, like Van Halen's Romeo Delight. Check it out live.
    3. Zep's backed by the best rock drummer in the business, John Bonham, and he rules in this song.
Thank you my friend and keep it up.

Jamal, I have a very unique song for you to listen and react to. The band is called the Average White Band and they are from Glasgow, Scotland, UK. They were the R&B, Soul music geek Scotts but when they came out and had the major debut in the States, many black radio stations played their song. And they came to the States for their first tour, my friend was there and he told me that about 75 to 80% of the audience were the brothers and sistas.
When there are some hillbilly looking white boys came out on stage, almost all audience thought as they are the roadies, came out on stage for tuning the instruments. Everybody thought as the band is the British brothers.
But soon as the tuning has completed, those white boys started to play and sing. First, the audience was liked stunned, but a second later, everybody has gone crazy because they were the band. A real deal R&B music but played by the Scottish white boys. Sadly, the leader of the band and the drummer passed away with heroin overdose
and then after, the black drummer was brought in. But this drummer was from England, too.
They were so good and mostly lip-sync Soul Train show's producer let them play live in the studio.
This is one of they early hit "Cut The Cake" and it's live. I thought as listen and reacting to such unique band might be a big fun for you as well.
