Fences star Viola Davis: 'After The Help I was done with aprons'

Sick of the stereotypical roles offered to black women, Viola Davis decided to reject any part that, in her words, "put a gag order on my humanity and sexuality". Here the star, a Golden Globe winner thanks to her role alongside Denzel Washington in Fences, introduces Washington's adaptation of the August Wilson play to an audience at the BFI Southbank. Fences is on general release in the UK 10 February
