@@shelbygwiza9861 because she's rubbing it in everyone's face with such disregard to those who do not believe in her god. I also hate how she believe god is responsible for her achievements instead of giving credit to herself and the supporting people around her. God is never brought up when tragic events happen though. Religious people seem to only mention him for the good and positives. Makes no sense.

@@djandreal no disrespect meant by what I am about to say but that is the most stupid thing I have heard. You said it’s HER god so why does she need to regard other beliefs into her own, she’s not going to mention the gods of different faiths then apologise to the atheists as well. She’s not being an advocate just stating what she believes in and isn’t forcing that on anyone else. You are clearly resentful to God or a higher power or whatever but with her faith she believes that she was put on this right path by God and those actions got her to winning that Oscar; that isn’t discrediting herself just uplifting who she believes is responsible

    • @djandreal

@@shelbygwiza9861 no offense but your assumption is laughable at best. I clearly don't believe in god or any supernatural entity so how could I be mad at god? I just find it really sad that people still believe in fictional characters in this day and age. Have you read the Bible? Does it sound plausible to you? It's clearly a bunch of fairytales and it floors me how people do not question all the horrible and cruel things god did in the old testament. I mean, honestly, wake the fuck up! There are thousands of religions out there, has it ever crossed your mind that maybe they're nothing but made up stories? I just find it annoying when people thank "god" for their personal achievements.

I have been amazed by Viola Davis for years. What an amazing actress. As soon as I heard that Viola was going to work on Shonda Rhimes project "How To Get Away With Murder" I knew she would win an Emmy. And when I saw her performance in Fences I knew that she would win the Oscar. And Jeffrey is right. The scene with Viola and Meryl in Doubt was nothing short of spectacular. It was like a Master Class in acting.

Right, because skin color is something you can change, like your sexuality or the shape of your nose. Thank you for reducing something that cannot be changed except in attitude( particularly yours) to a cheap card game.

Actually, you can't change your sexuality (I'm assuming you are referring to sexual orientation), and I'm not reducing any issue, I'm just saying that that issue is not existent in this situation for the reasons that I stated.

And what a shame that the film industry relegates performers of films not about white people to supporting roles, and our white supremacist society that taught you that you can reduce those whom you don't know and don't socialize with to objects, not unlike the way men reduce you to an object through sexism for you to make the comment you made.

Well, you are wrong, and you have no claim on how other people feel about this issue.

The Academy is usually late. Viola should have two....her first should have been for DOUBT. Well deserved, though.
