"Maryland District" isn't a thing just for reference, "MD" is the abbreviation for Maryland. They are A-10Cs from the 104th Fighter Squadron, 175th Wing of the Maryland Air National Guard.

Well I first caught them there in 2017. Lucky catch as I was there on business and a fellow employee was showing me the area!

My sons on his way back from Macedonia driving an army TCV , 7 days till back in the Uk , a lot quicker than the Warthogs 😂, 6wk exercise with 2para, I got sent footage of them on low level flybys right over the heads of guys on the ground , what a buzz it must of been!

Many years ago, a good friend worked for BT, then for Hutchison Telecom (orange) on tall masts, setting dishes…..
Working up near Mildenhall and Lakenheath he told me his mast, when he was at the top, was a turning point for a regular flight of A10’s…….. passing by routinely, very close, banked at 90’ with the pilot saluting him…..😳🇺🇸

when i was a kid, they brought A10 back from Germany, they were at RAF Kemble, for a few years, the Yanks widened and lengthened the runway, great sight the flew around Wiltshire for a long time

If we could ever get one of these at an Airshow Downunder, it would drag in 250,000 people. More than double our biggest crowds, if it attended and flew, they would have to shut the gates.

Exceellent capture here. I will be forever grateful for Wartogs. Many American and allied lives have been saved by their intervention when the shit is hitting the fan and the metal is meeting the meat!
As an aside,we have a 2 letter abbreviation for each of our States. MD is Maryland (these are MDANG - Maryland Air National Guard) Hogs. Alaska is AK, California is CA, Montana is MT . . . etc., etc.
Don't feel bad though, a great proportion of our own population who have been born, raised and educated (I use the term loosely) here don't know this.
Thanks for taking the time and posting this,
    Pace vobiscum and be well.

@@paulmca8514 Fair point. I can only speak from personal experience, and I can say without fear of equivocation, the BRRRRRTTTT of their GAU when we were in the middle of a TIC was music to my ears, and to the ears of the rest of my Platoon.
But, as previously stated, you make a fair point.

The A-10 Thunderbolt II nickname "Warthog" was given due to the sound of the gun. The GAU-8 30mm makes a "Guttural belching" sound which Warthog's also make.

If only they could have been heading east, to be used by the Ukrainian Airforce(I know their pilots are not trained on A10s), they could have wiped out those Russian tank/vehicle columns. The perfect aircraft for fighting Russia's 2nd World War strategy. Slava Ukraini.
