Good video. Only thing I wish you mentioned to other viewers is the danger this stuff can be for your health to breath in. Should wear mask and gloves with this chemical.
my favorite wheel cleaner by far! it's just so effective and works very fast. I have tried most of the more famous wheel cleaner, but this one takes home the trophy for me.
Congrats! You finally discovered D140. The old detailers best kept secret. Makes chrome pop and also removes water spots from paint. Avoid glass though. I use D140 on chrome before applying ceramic coating to lock in the bling.
Nice review! I appreciate seeing the product work on different wheels and conditions. I have a Tesla and the wheels never get dirty enough for a dedicated cleaner but this one looks like a beast. I’ll keep this in mind for future vehicles. Cheers!
D101 has been a staple in my cabinet for years, I don't break it out often due to the fact that this is a harsh chemical I save it for the worst of the worst, Gtechniq W6 is what I usually reach for to do the heavy lifting and Brake Buster is my regular maintenance wheel cleaner.
When the manufacturer's label states Up to 4:1, it means just that. Some folks have said you can use it neat, 1:1, etc. Ofcourse you CAN do whatever your heart desires. But Up to 4:1 means that is the strongest dilution ratio the manufacturer recommends. Hope this helps!
I have been using wheel brightener for years. Now it is discontinued. I picked up a few gallons. It is the best. full or 1:1 for real bad rims. I did ruin some anodized rims once. Cost me 2 grand. Never do that again. I use Meguiars ultimate wheel cleaner on my personal car. I tried the Adams, it was ok.
Thank you for the video mate. Any tips how to remove chemical staining as I did the wrong thing and now have a white chemical galze on my black wheels. Regards Hayden
I suggest starting off with some Polish on a microfiber towel and working it in with your finger though if you have a small enough extension for a DA polisher that works too. If it works but isn't aggressive enough you can work up to a cutting compound.
Very informative video on a great wheel cleaner. As mentioned, consistently throughout the vid, you have to be careful with this acid based cleaner on wheels and even water spots on paint. Play with dilution ratios and test it on areas before committing to a ratio. Its a great cleaner, but strong and has the potential to destroy wheels, painted/plastic surfaces, and even glass.
@@MrMajinbu a question is never ignorance my friend. It would be yes, gloss black wheels are painted which means they have a clear coat. It will be safe though I don't recommend using it regularly or at a high strength
@@MrMajinbu not specifically the meguiars non acid but I use P&S brake buster pretty much 90% of the time on wheels. It's only when they are extremely dirty or brake buster isn't working for me do I bust out the acid
I discovered this product and it is absolutely incredible.... But what do you use to melt the ugliness of the tire? Is there a product as good as this one for the tire? I just watched a video where the guy uses a spare tire that it is under a truck and it was nasty.... Adam's wheel and tire cleaner performed amazing without scrubbing. What do you use?
Adam's wheel and tire is a great product it should be more than enough. I use p&s break buster for tires. And while yes these alkaline cleaners are good at browning up a tire without contact I still recommend you scrub the sidewall very thoroughly to clean the tire well
So long as the wheels are factory painted they are perfectly safe to use this on. However I'd use something less powerful on your wheels like brake buster. For about 75%-90% of cases, it's going to be overkill to use Wheel Brightener.
That looks very much like the Auto Valet Flame Acid Rim Cleaner, I wonder if it is the same formula just rebranded as we often see. Would agitation be of any benefit? It looked like a few dirt spots were left on the last wheel you cleaned.
@@baptistevermeille9508 Thanks for that. It's much easier for me to get the Meguiar's Wheel Brightener than the Auto Valet Flame, if they have the same result then I will purchase the Meguiar's.
If you use McGuire's wheel brightness on polished aluminum wheels, you're gonna Polish them anyways. It does not damage the Polish diplomatic. It just brings them back to the natural state.
Strongly disagree - the label states clearly „UP to 4:1”. You DO NOT need to dilute it. You can use it neat, go 1:1, 2:1 all the way to 4:1 but no more because the product will lose the cleaning power. So read the labels well otherwise you’ll be missleading people 😊
I think you need to go back and re study Brønsted-Lowry Acid reduction and look at the numbers again. You can easily dilute this product down more than 4:1 and still have strong cleaning abilities for water stains and bad tires will easily clean diluted more than 4:1
@@Dr.Unsteady and you should clearly go back to elementary school to learn to understand what you read… I’m in no doubt that the product will still work diluted more than 4:1. It’s what the OP said that you NEED to dilute it according to manufacturers instruction - no you don’t. And furthermore, megs reccomends to dilute it no more than 4:1. I guess a brand like this probably did some testing and they know how to use the product to get the best out of it. So summing up, my point is that you people need to understand what you read. Please note this product uses ammonium bifluoride. Many injuries have resulted in users not being aware of the risks posed by similar wheel cleaning products. Ammonium bifluoride based products are often considered a safer alternative to hydrofluoric acid, yet still pose clear risks to the handler. Ammonium bifluoride, ammonium fluoride, and hydrofluoric acid have been described as "too dangerous for any use in a car wash environment" by Professional Car Washing and Detailing magazine, advice that accords with a 2015 report from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Ammonium bifluoride is toxic to consume and a skin corrosion agent. Upon exposure to skin, rinsing with water followed by a treatment of calcium gluconate is required. In water, ammonium bifluoride exists in chemical equilibrium with hydrofluoric acid and heating releases hydrogen fluoride gas. Consequently, there is an equivalent toxicological risk as is present with hydrofluoric acid, and the same safety precautions apply.
It will if you don’t rinse it off. If you let it sit there for days I could possibly leave acid spots. Just rinse it off with the hose or pressure washer and problem solved.
meg wheel brightner works like magic. it is a must have item in everyone's detailing arsenal smell pretty strong but killing all the triggers is so annoying

@@מדינט D140 is acid base and D143 is not. D140 will brighten chrome and make it pop. The acid base is what dissolves the water spots.
