Irony just hit me of how Frankie talks about can't take away my autonomy but then rationalizes how her mom's collarbone was broken during birth by her mom's choice
I couldn't get through many episodes her character daughters were beyond obnoxious, spoiled and entitled and treated the mom with such hatred and disrespect she let them do whatever to be their friend that she was a horrible mother this isn't entertainment mother had no back bone absolute doormat at least the youngest daughter character has a heart and respect and appreciation of her mother
As a single mother with 2 children I would NEVER allow them to speak to me this way. If they are old enough to talk like that to their mother than they are old enough to hear some hard truths, going through a divorce does not give children the right to abuse their parents. Horrible children.
Excellent scene. Adlon and the writers gave Hannah Alligood a lot of great lines to work with, and she delivers them more than well. It is rare that a child character in a TV show manages to stand out like Frankie does. These three 'alpha' characters are essential to the show. Notice how both Frankie and Phil makes a witty counter-attack, every time Sam tries to make a point. It would be a nightmare to live under the same roof as these three, but it is an absolute joy to watch.

Frankie was the BIGGEST headache of the show. Okay cool agency over your body. But it’s your MOM’s house!!!
