I saw an interview with Pamela talking about this scene. Apparently they kept it a secret from Mikey and this is her genuine reaction from seeing it for the first time. Pamela Adlon is the best!
I can't begin to ever put into words how this program has saved me from plunging into darkness during a dark time. As a mother of children who don't and may never appreciate what I do for them, THANK YOU for keeping it real ... and for celebrating moms who try to foster whatever light is in their children, at the expense of extinguishing their own. Yet, we still glow, right? This dance scene made a rough week in healthcare and without family worth it. Grateful.
Wow, what an amazingly beautiful comment. I don't know you, but have a good feeling you are your kid's hero & even if they don't show it now, one day they will & all that sacrifice will be So far Beyond worth it. And you'll be like : See??? Told yah I was freaking awesome ! 👍👍👍
Hello, I also will admit that I did not appreciate my mother until I was 18 years old. I believe when you grow older and experince more you do understand what your mother did/ is doing for you more than ever. At one point you understand what is sacrificied for you so you can be happy and well. Perhaps your children will understand this later on as I did. Nevertheless, any MOTHER who feels unseen or underappreciated my heart is with all of you and just know that your efforts will ALWAYS be valid.
Hang in there, sweetie. In time, they will know. They will someday look back and understand what you did for them. Even if you are not around anymore by then, that will be okay. Just know it and hold it in your heart; it is its own reward.
Same thing! I so thought it was gonna be a car! What an amazing gift her mom gave her. It's the sort of thing you will remember forever. Not some trinket. She really is the best Mom! Im falling in love with this show
I “discovered” Better Things while sheltering in place in Seattle. It has been an amazing distraction. This scene is impeccable and so special. Thank you Pamela Adlon and the rest of the cast and crew.
Same here. We've been Safer at Home in LA since mid-March, and Better Things (which I knew about but had never watched) has been one of the bright lights this whole time, keeping us (somewhat) sane amidst the very challenging circumstances.
Just when I think I'm going mental I listen to this song and it helps. Thank you SOOOOOO much to all of you. Everyone one of you holds a special meaning and it wouldn't be the same without each and every one of you. Much love, pray for peace and of course happiness. ⭐💙⭐
When I'm having a down day or feeling less than human, this video is like a soft, warm lightly lavender scented blanket I wrap around myself and think of all the beauty in my life.
I don’t know what it is but I’ve literally watch this like at least 10 times. I love Better things I get emotional watching it. It’s so beautifully done. I never heard the song before but its on repeat for a week now. That episode was amazing.
Stephanie Fleurigene: I came to this through an end-of-year list in the NYTimes, so after watching it, I did some internet sleuthing and eventually found the Christine and The Queens official video on TH-cam. I still come back to this because it’s condensed, but I really love the full song (English version).
This is everything. I love this show so much and I love this scene with my whole heart. When I saw it, it was mid COVID quarantine and I watched this over and over and practiced this dance routine in my kitchen with them until I knew it. It was some kind of therapy.... It just really gets to me. It's a wonderful song, wonderful actors, wonderful people and story. Full, full, full.
This has to be in my top 5 favorite season finale's EVER!!! I love Pamela Adlon and this incredible show she's created. The relationships with all 3 of her daughters is so special and unique. Better Things a sure FAVE!!!
This should have 400,000,000 views. It’s a brilliantly written and acted show. Hats off. Love that they did this. Pamela Adlon is a genius. Love this show.
This is the best show on television, EVER. I very uncharacteristically have now watched the entire show, all seasons, 3 times. Beautiful, inspiring, real, fantastic direction. Pamela Adlon is a genius in the best, most human sense.
best scene ever. i channel the energy of this scene and this SHOW throughout my mothering every once in a while and when i do i am a truly Better mom. also thank you Pamela Adlon for introducing me to Christine and the Queens! i love this show like i love my kids - never asked for it but so desperately thankful it was gifted to me.
I love this show! I think I have cried watching almost every episode. It is so rare to have such authentic moments in a show. I hope there is a third season!!
I couldn't love this scene enough ❤ Pamela Adlon is the BEST! And Sam Fox was THE COOLEST mummabear ever! Makes me cry every time I watch it, so many emotions for so many reasons! Genius 😍 xx
Saw this when I was in the hospital. This made me smile for the 1st time since my accident.---- this was a classic song and video. Thanks FX and all the cast members, love it.
YES 💝 Amen to that! Hope you are doing better. Hospitals, Accidents & injuries are terrible. So nice to be able to focus on something else when you can. Best wishes 💃🌞💓 ~
I like how the roles of the family play out in the dance. The mum and the youngest are the stablising parts, while the middle child and the grandmother are the ones most in flux. It really shows where everyone is at that point in the show, yet they put aside their differences for one of the most memorable scenes in recent television.
Pamela, you are a goddess! Thank you for saving me as a mom, physician, and human during COVID-19. I am so glad to have discovered your show. Thank you for providing some respite in my life.
Like many of you, I discovered this show in quarantine and wow it was the best discovery I watched during a really scary time. This scene left such a beautiful mark. I love this song, I love this cast, I love Pamela, I love this show!
Love this scene, and absolutely love this show. I just learned this just now, they are actually copying the dance from the music video of this song! Really cool.
Never heard this song! Immediately Googled it, bought it on iTunes and it’s been my earworm for a week now. Loved the scene, dug it even more when I realized they were recreating a video. What fun!
This scene literally made me weep. It’s the song (lyrics) and how it speaks to their little family - a little screwed up, a little damaged, a little weird, but doing alright. Actually, good.
Soooo sad this is the last season!! Pamela adlon is so inspiring as an actress, a single mother and a strong woman. ❤️❤️❤️❤️. Love the whole cast. Will be greatly missed
This blows my mind every damn time. It would be a worse crime to take this off the air than anything LCK ever did. That would belittle the artist that Pamela has become, and effectively say that HE was behind all of this genius work. I fully believe this show will still thrive. It might even become better. I’m interested in what is to come for this show minus the pervert
I don't think FX ever CONSIDERED cancelling this beautiful show. Better Things IS Pamela's actual life, fictionalized. CK being a pervert has no effect on how wonderful this show is.
Writers are replaced on shows all the time, though. And the fact that this show IS her life makes losing CK from the show not only a survivable hit, but also possibly a GOOD thing.
Kevin Bailey totally agree with all of that, I’m just worried about the powers that be-mostly rich white empowered men-perpetuating all of this by taking all this away because of CK’s attachment. I hope they don’t, and I really wanna see more of this show, especially from a 100% perspective through Pamela’s eyes, I just don’t trust those rich white men to ever make the right decisions. Maybe this time they will
When I first saw this scene I had to watch it at least 10 times!!! I absolutely loved everything about it. This show has touched my heart and soul like no other. I'm going to have to keep re-watching it long after it's gone.💔
Just now saw the music video they got this from and I’m even more amazed . (Christine and the Queens “TiLted”) this is my favorite scene in the history of ever. 🥰
I really can't stop watching this. So much emotion here. The actors, writers, everyone involved in this show should be so proud. Even after 15 or 20 times of watching this it still brings me happy tears.
Today, I was very very down and I watched this and all I can say is 💝THANK YOU!💝 With ALL of my ❤-- there are ways that this whole series brings memories of my Mom back to me that no-one else can do. I cannot describe to Pamela Adlon and these Creators of this whole Series-these Amazing Actors-the way you basically go back in time and re-live a lot of what I used to have when my mom was still alive. You just do not know the healing and LOVE that you are giving. This Song-TILTED-by Christine AMAZING!!! So Cathartic & Majorly Healing for my Soul 🌸💝🌠💃 God Bless all of you & THANK YOU! Brave Onward! ~

I am actually good, can't help it if we're tilted. Christine and the Queens had a fantastic song in place for Better Things. What an artistic expression for sure.
I love Pamela Adlon dating back to King of the Hill - that voice! And this show is brilliantly written, acted and directed ~ with such talent ~ This is life - it's life. Priceless - thank you!
What a lovely thing to find, this morning! This is just brilliant, & gives each of them a chance to bloom before our eyes. Whatever happens in future, they'll always have this adorable piece on film. I'm so pleased that season 2 has finally arrived - and continues to be as good as ever, if not better. Maybe nearly losing everything made them all even more focused & beautifully creative actors. Hope they can produce many more episodes than merely a short season's worth, while the kids & the adults are all at this perfect age. The kids seemed to grow up so fast, since they weren't filming for such an exended time. I hope they were all able to work at their craft ayway, during what must've been a tumultuous time, due to the unfortunate, & selfish behavior of Louie C.K., who's a treasure as well, so hope he can salvage his career & progress to his best self, & that the world forgives him, & supports him in healing & restoring whatever damages he's caused to other's lives & to this work he was once a key part of. I'm so pleased that those in this production were all able to pick up and continue so well, after nearly losing the opportunity to work on this beloved project.
If I even did something cool, and my kid in response said, "Whoooo! F--k yeah, Mom!" I'd have the same arms-up reaction as Pamela/Sam. This is just brilliant. And for those who don't "get" the scene, I guarantee it ties in with Season 2 plot lines. I hope FX will soon post "Wake Up Looking" from the series finale. That one was a tribute to the youngest, Sam, and her burgeoning creativity, which helped pull her out of a dark place that tween years can be.
Binging Better Things right now and as soon as the music started I lost it, I saw Christine and the Queens perform Tilted on Graham Norton years ago and was so excited that Better Things was about to perform it!!!!
I saw an interview with Pamela talking about this scene. Apparently they kept it a secret from Mikey and this is her genuine reaction from seeing it for the first time. Pamela Adlon is the best!
That's actually genius

Started watching a month ago and I just love, love, love everything about it..

When I first saw this, I thought she was surprising Max with a car but I would take that dance sequence over a car any day.
that's what I thought too!lol
Me too!
Same thing! I so thought it was gonna be a car! What an amazing gift her mom gave her. It's the sort of thing you will remember forever. Not some trinket. She really is the best Mom! Im falling in love with this show
She is an awesome mom love this show. I agree a gift to remember
That is exactly what i fuckin thought. It was such a nice surprise to see something different and original!!!
one of our all time favorite scenes in any show ever!
Agree times 100000000!
I “discovered” Better Things while sheltering in place in Seattle. It has been an amazing distraction. This scene is impeccable and so special. Thank you Pamela Adlon and the rest of the cast and crew.
I couldn't agree more.
Yes, I agree, Really GREAT 💃😎💝

Me too, just for a pick me up❤😊
This scene moved me to tears. Thank you Pamela Adlon, for this beautiful show.
Me too! Love Pam
I am a NEW fan of Pamela and her show 'Better Things' and this dance scene was BRILLIANT
Louis C.K. as well..👍
Me too
Can you imagine doing something like that for your child? Just awesome
Best season finale I've seen in the longest time. Motherhood... The struggle, pain, love, joy and dancing! I can't stop watching this scene.
Beautifully said💕
I literally just watched this episode a few days ago
And re-watching, and re-watching...
FOUR years later and the emotion I feel when watching this brings me to happy tears. I can't bring myself to start the last season. My heart 💔
That little smile Pamela gives her at 02:01 just cuts me right down to the heart.

One of THE BEST season finale's i've seen. Honestly, this show has really grown on me.
Why do I cry every single time I watch this? Love this show
I'm obsessed.. This speaks to my weird and quirky soul with all the feels.. Does Pamela Adlon do anything that isn't completely amazing!?!
I can literally watch this over and over again. Such a beautiful song that I had never heard before. I absolutely loved this scene.
Wonderful, as is everything about this show: goofy, imperfect and unflinchingly honest.
when she prepped for the colonoscopy - LOL
Pamela Aldon just seems like the coolest person ever
This is everything. I love this show so much and I love this scene with my whole heart. You can tell Pamela is 100% focused cos she’s miming the words to the song with such intensity😊❤
This made me cry. I just saw it for the first time today and I am hooked on this show.

Best show🎉
I can’t ever get through his without crying. The word *incredible* doesn’t even cover this.
Ditto. I was weeping last night watching this.
KUDOS cast! Does anybody really realize how many hours of practice and do-overs this scene really took. Thank you Pamela, et al. You nailed it!
This is one of my favorites! I loved the whole series. Honestly tho, I wish they would bring it back.
I just finished this show, and already miss it!! Frankie has to be one of the best, most nuanced characters I've ever seen on a show!
I have watched this beautiful scene many times and it still brings tears of joy and wonderment to my eyes! I absolutely love this show!
I love this show! I think I have cried watching almost every episode. It is so rare to have such authentic moments in a show. I hope there is a third season!!
I love how Pamela is singing the entire time.

Started watching and loving Pamela on californication! She was my favorite character, I love that she has her own show. This scene hit home! ❤️
I like how the roles of the family play out in the dance. The mum and the youngest are the stablising parts, while the middle child and the grandmother are the ones most in flux. This was the best scene. I love this show. I am going to watch this every time I need to smile.
One the best moments I have ever witnessed in my life
Honestly, whomever’s this idea was, it is genius. Hip hip
This is one of the few shows that I watch on tv. By far the best moment in the show's existence. Fingers crossed that it's not canceled.
Never heard this song! Immediately Googled it, bought it on iTunes and it’s been my earworm for a week now. Loved the scene, dug it even more when I realized they were recreating a video. What fun!
Soooo grateful that Better Things is thriving. It is brilliant.
This scene literally made me weep. It’s the song (lyrics) and how it speaks to their little family - a little screwed up, a little damaged, a little weird, but doing alright. Actually, good.
I'm a heterosexual male that mostly watches sci fi movies and John wick, and I love this show. It makes me smile

Probably one of my favorite endings to a season finale ever made! Just brilliant
One of the most memorable season finales I seen in recent years
Just now saw the music video they got this from and I’m even more amazed . (Christine and the Queens “TiLted”) this is my favorite scene in the history of ever. 🥰

Perfect ending to a perfect show!

One of the greatest moments of television. Ever.
Amazing scene and a brilliant show! Only discovered this series 3 weeks ago but I absolutely love it! You Rock Pamela! 🤘🤘😍😍
This is my favorite episode of the show. Thank you for the beauty.
I've never watched a specific scene from a show more than this one. SO good and brings me so much joy.
Watched it in the show. I had a bad day. Thankfully this is easy to look up on TH-cam.
Today, I was very very down and I watched this and all I can say is 💝THANK YOU!💝 With ALL of my ❤-- there are ways that this whole series brings memories of my Mom back to me that no-one else can do. I love this! The show is brilliant too.
Amazing. I loved this scene. Did not see anything like this coming!
Christine and The Queens- "Tilted" is the name of the song.
One of my favorite scenes ever. So SO SPECIAL.
Going to miss this show! 👏
Better things has some serious restorative powers. a startling closing scene to a brilliantly sensitive and insightful season. it's a classic in the making. and that look Frankie throws "Sam" at :48!
I noticed that too.I wonder what is going on there?
I assumed they were just sort of playing.
me too. but it also reminds me of Frankie's continuing cruelty towards her mother which makes me laugh.
No, I think Frankie is giving her a look of serious "YEAH" .....
She's definitely checking in with Pamela as an actor because it's a heavy and hard choreographed scene, my thought is "Frankie" is looking at her like "This is good, right? & Yeah, we're doing okay, right ?"
I watch this whenever i need a lift. Celia Imrie looking so regal and proud is my spirit animal.
Awesome moment in a wonderful show.
Yesssssss!!! Christine and The Queens! So, so good!!! Makes me smile..can't stop watching!
What a beautiful idea. A wonderful expression of love. Love this show!!
