Great viewing Mate Thanks for the shout out !!
Thanks for that Dean. Really took me back. Did part of this route for my D of E back in 1964. :) Hasn't changed much.
Nice series of videos Dean ;) Thanks for sharing your travels the way you do - feels like we're part of the experience !
I would say those pieces of wood weighed down by stones in the river are boards for the well dressing. Great video

Well I never... You learn something new every day. Thank you so much for commenting, I'd never have known otherwise :-)
Thanks mate, we'll have to meet for a wild camp one day soon
Great video, Dean, thanks for sharing, nice info all the way thru.
very good video dean and very useful thanks for sharing !
+John Clarke thanks for watching John :-)
Fabulous video as always - this is high on my list to do next year - got the gpx on viewranger already and checking it out! Thanks
I have a video of the southern section too, it's a fantastic route. Enjoy 👍😎
Also... Thanks for watching Mark :-)
@@DeanRead It's great Dean and a perfect hike for an overnight hike next summer. What pack do you carry and is there much water on route for the old sawyer? I have the mini and find it invaluable in saving a bit if weight
I use an Osprey Exos 48 now days. You dip in and out of valleys along the way so plenty of rivers/streams to utilise the Sawyer, it is an invaluable tool isn't it
@@DeanRead Thanks Dean - I've literally just swapped my Osprey Stratos 36 for a second hand Lowe Alpine airzone pro 35+45 which I'll use next year on my wild camps. The Stratos just wasn't quite big enough and I do like the Lowe Alpine gear. I may need to look at a lighter alternative to my vango cairngorm 200 but its a great tent and only 800g heavier than your zephyros. And yes the Sawyer is great - better than carrying 2-3kg of water for the whole hike. I like the idea of the Limesone Way as Matlock is the closest part of the Peaks to me in Leicestershire - I can't remember now how many times I've walked from Starkholmes over to the Heights of Abraham and back via Giddy edge.
thanks Mac, I love sharing my adventures. Just need to keep up with recording AudoBoos too and not letting them slip in favour of video :-)
Thanks David, the Limestone Way weaves through a beautiful part of Derbyshire/Peak District. Thanks for commenting
Really want to do this walk 👍
It’s a really great walk Chris, I’d highly recommend it. Thanks for watching, All the best. Dean
Hello again dean. Like l've said many times before... great video, great content. Tell me dean, is the limestone way easy to follow? Is there enough well marked sign posts? Cheers Gary
Thanks Gary, yeah the Limestone Way is easy to follow as it is very well Waymarked. I did have my map with me but I don't remember having to use it :-) I plan to walk the southern half from Matlock to Rocester very soon
Thank you :-)
Hi Dean - a great video - can I ask how the bus ride back to Matlock was? Is it quite easy? I'm looking at doing this hike next Spring/Summer. Thanks
It was pretty straight forward from memory, I had to change buses at Bakewell though. Hope you have a great time when you walk it. Check out my other video of the southern section as that's good too.
@@DeanRead cheers sir. Logistics of a linear hike!
@@summitupmark5615 If you walked the full route and left your car at Rocester... It would be 3 buses.. Castleton to Bakewell, then to Derby and then to Rocester 👍😎
@@DeanRead a good challenge. I’m looking at doing this prior to tackling the Leicestershire round (100miles)
@@summitupmark5615 Excellent, I'll have to Google that 👍😎
Great video Dean, it has inspired me to walk the Limestone Way this autumn.
Thanks for watching, it's a really nice route. Hope you have a great time 👍
Nice one thanks Dean 👍 I'm looking forward to getting started on it later this month. And all the best for your TH-cam channel over the next year, your videos always motivate me to get out walking more !!

I've put ios6 back on my phone now so I can actually view google+, it wouldn't load with ios7 beta. It's a great route mate, Amy wants to do the southern section with me from Matlock to Rocester
I do like Milk and Beef though :-) thanks for commenting, I shall keep the videos coming
Thanks mate, I haven't tried anything from Blue Bee brewery yet, I must add it to my list :-) thanks for commenting
Thanks for commenting, I'm hoping to do the section from Matlock to Rocester soon so will have more video arriving.
Great video, I have just come back from completing a section of this walk but the weather and visibility were awful so saw nothing! The mud level was also ridiculous. I was surprised to see you wild camp, are any permissions required to do this is in the Peak District? Many thanks.
Hi Andy thanks for watching, it's a really great route. we've not been blessed with great weather lately have we. You do need permission to camp in the Peak District and wild camping isnt technically allowed. I always go by the Leave No Trace philosophy and make sure I don't have any negative impact on where I camp. I always make sure i'm hidden out of the way too and pitch up late / leave early. I hope you get better weather if you return to walk more of the route. All the best. Dean
Thank you. It's a stunning part of the world, Feel so privileged to live close by
Thanks Tony.. it's my equivalent to what Dartmoor is for you, my playground :-)
:-)
Thanks :)
Tonight uploading a kit used video and update on Bess.
Nice video, did some of the limestone way myself up to castleton few months ago, lovely place..
That looks like a great route. Excellent video, thanks for sharing. David. :-)
great video watching it for the third time very informative ! cheers dean
+John Clarke thanks for watching John, 3 times? you're bound to have noticed some mistakes in my commentary or editing by now... let me know if you've spotted anything :-) haha. Much appreciated, ATB Dean
My mistake when I am doing a,hiking video is saying well here I am way too much!
+John Clarke mine is saying "right" too much, also have a few others that I cringe about :-)
OK!
