Sonja Marika Indeed. I’m sure ALOT of us could use a motivational friend like her, even if whatever’s told to us is harsh. But sometimes we DO need to be told a harsh truth in order to become something better than what we think we are.
This is one of the recap episodes that actually work well, along with the Avatar amber Islands play. We get more insight into the main character and development. While it is a filler in a way, it works well and I don't suggest skipping it
Looks like they ran out of pc processing power or rendering time for the final shot and had to employ a legion of cardboard sprites to fill in the back ranks. Same trick George Lucas used for the ending of Star Wars A New Hope.
2:49 "Hero, hero, you have done so well So sit back, and lick your wounds 'cause you won't go to hell Take your medal, wear it now with pride Consolation for the pain and sin you feel inside" -Judas Priest, "Dying to Meet You / Hero, Hero"
I hate recap episodes. The only reason it's there was because this character development for Graveheart wouldn't fit with the time remaining in the season and they probably didn't have the money for a full-blown episode...so they ran 8 minutes of content with 12 minutes of recaps... I understand *why* Mainframe did it - but it just creates a useless gap in the episodes. If you skip all the recaps though, it's a good Graveheart episode. It should have dug deeper with his PTSD following Micah's death, though. I'm sure the creators would have loved that, had they had unlimited money :P
As much as I love this show does anyone else think it’s strange that Gravehearts brother was a quarrier? Implying that a kid recruit would have access codes to the battle moons like what Graveheart said at the beginning of episode 2???… I mean it’s quite important information to give to a kid.
I don't think it's access codes to control the battle moons so much as an authorization code to pass through the imposing checkpoint that is the battle moons. Each quarrier probably has them in case a raid goes awry and someone has to take command. It's a little flawed, and there might be better leadership in a miner foreman than a raw quarrier recruit, but that's the downside of a caste system that Rock seems to have.
Form my understanding was that all the worlds were running out of their own natural resources survive and it got to the point that openly started to raid and steal form each other to the point that turn in to open warfare that they nearly depleted everything they had left until a sort cease fire happened but seems they still went on to do quick snatch and grab raids for each other's other resources. My guess how ever there could be more to it but it's talked about much in the series.
dear god this remains one of the best underrated scifi's ever made
Jade speaks for all of us when she say she's tired of hearing Graveheart saying "I'm just a miner"
The line I think of is more like "You are one monumental Moron."

@@Kamenriderneo Back then even cartoons for kids had balls.
Its the Beast Planet's only weakness, he'll mine his way through its defenses (lol).
Is the best part of the show haha 😅 conducting an intergalactic alliance and is no royalty, "just a miner"
its due to not seeing himself as a hero
"i'm just a miner' make that T shirt now!!
Love this cartoon since I was 13 20 + years later still epic 💯
literally the best intro of any show i have seen in a long time
Normally, I hate "Clip Shows," especially if I'm bingeing the series, but this episode makes it so worthwhile.
This episode was mostly a clip show, but it was still amazing and made me tear up with pride.
What makes it work, is that they A. make it epic, and B. they also have stuff in-between that adds to story and carries the story forward
I love Jade so much. I wish I had a close friend like that to talk some sense into me whenever I feel like giving up.

@@619AGT Amen!
Did you give up?
Wow, this is actually quite heavy for a kid's show.
Poor grave heart I know how you feel losing someone you care about
So Graveheart got a little PTSD going on....hmmm. ok. For real though, "I'm Just a Miner" needs to be autotuned and put on Remix!
+wolfkniteX For extra difficulty, drink everytime Graveheart says the word "miner" or when he denies/tries to deny leadership.

+Worsteverything rewatching this ep just for this comment.
you see...this guy....this is the guy....*collapses*
Jade is a great motivational speaker.
Yep. Count on Jade to grind the man's stones.
Wow the secret has reveal graveheart is not just warrior but he also been a commander army
Jade said he used to be in the Army in the 2nd episode, and given how he's an older guy it makes sense he'd have been a Ranking Officer.
plot twist: the fighter graveheart shot down in his rage, was flown by pyrus's father
I so want to know what happened during the Golden Jubilation. We had subtle glimples of it, all of them somehow pointing at planet ice oddly

Jade is the best bit
Graveheart is the F*cking man
14:08 that explosion is similar to beast wars.
15:55 Epic Montage
Ah, a nice filler episode, full of flashback and slow character progression
+MrWillarti this series taught me that if you must have filler episodes, make them interesting and epic.
It would have been cool if this show had crossover with the shows at the the time: Beast Wars Transformers and Reboot.
@Billy Higgins Graveheart: he has my voice.
My childhood :*
At 01:13 : so Sheppardish intro! Cool episode! ;)

Dat n64 crowd tech
Pretty interesting... I never thought about that.
Always wondered how Tekla would look with a long hairstyle.
Think of what Nebula with the blonde hair looked like in "What If?"

19:52 you made have failed on saving that kid, but that dosen't mean you'll fail them.
20:18 you heard the lady, and if your brother was here, he would told you to do the same.
20:50 - cardboard cutouts, what they have to do to render some scenes, lol

Think this is the first time I watched this cause I do not remember Micah at all. Hate clip shows.
I like the unique lesson they teach though in this episode. I don’t know if they needed filler to fill time or to teach this lesson.
I remember watching this episode on 9/11
19:44 your brother? I didn't know that.
figure of speech?
Yeah it was a shock and understanding why he left the army aftrer losing his little brother.

Oh never mind.
