This fight was sanctioned by the NABF which like the WBC and other sanctioning bodies doesn't allow Russian fighters in their rankings while the war is ongoing. Same reason why the Bivol-Beterbiev negotiations fell through, Beterbiev has a Canadian passport but Bivol is strictly Russian lol

russians arent allowed to compete internationally due to war in ukraine. so fighters have to change nationality to fight i assume
