Agreed. I’d like to see the whole fight too to see the full picture. I hope the people commenting saying Sanchez won watched the whole fight. Not saying they’re wrong, but I hope they’re not basing it on these highlights!

I watched the whole fight and it was a very close one for sure... But I favor Moloney over Sachez, 115 - 113. People say 116-112 is crazy but there were a few very close rounds that could've gone to either sides and I put all those in favor of Sachez. So 116-112 isn't totally wrong in my eyes. In this highlight, Sachez looks like he has an advantage but if you watch the whole thing it looks a lot different. But it IS a close one. Could've gone either way. Maybe Sachez could've won this depends on Judges' impressions but, I'd say this out loud, that it wasn't a robbery. No way. Hats off to both fighters!

If its a close fight then the fight automatically goes to the current champion. The challenger has to push the fight and do more than having a close fight. Im pretty sure its been that way for decades.
@@tgreen3198 whats done is done. time for you to accept that he didnt do enough to win. crying about it will do absolutely nothing to change the score cards. He needed a convincing win but failed.
@cruiserwolfgang "Close" may have been the wrong word then. It was competitive, but Sanchez won convincingly. Though part of the reason I bet on Moloney was because the bigger crowd draw typically gets the nod from the judges, not necessarily the champion, though they're one and the same most times. Not only did compubox have Sanchez drastically outlanding Moloney, but Sanchez also landed the harder and cleaner shots. Sanchez won convincingly by every measurable metric, but against the bigger crowd draw (aka bigger money maker for the sport), you need either a KO or a DEVESTATING domination (Bivol vs Canelo) in order to get the decision. Winning by a lot simply isn't enough. It's corrupt, but betting on that corruption has saved my ass in betting many times, most notably with Tyson Fury vs Ngannou, which is why I've only ever lost one bet, and it was by a very surprising KO. I have no problem with the judges decisions because it's predictable enough to make me money literally every time. But that's also why I'm able to dismiss any and all bias and say that Sanchez not only won, but he kinda beat Moloney's ass. He just didn't CRUSH Moloney for the 10+ rounds he wouldn't needed to in order to win. He just convincingly won 7-8 rounds. But....no skin off my bones. I profit from how the game is played.
This is exactly why boxing will not continue to expand. Sanchez was robbed. In front of millions. Even Maloney looked surprised 😮.
the highlights give a slightly false impression of the way the fight played out, moloney was able to take the center of the ring and consistently push sanchez the ropes and work him over, great fight but the right guy took it. you never see moloney in a boring match, he's tough and skilled but isn't quite strong enough to dominate the top flight guys, so great close matches

In a championship bout, I guess the challenger has the burden to prove himself beyond doubt to be better than the champion. In tonight's fight, neither proved better than the other beyond doubt, so it's kind of justifiable that the champion retained his belt.
