One of the best fights I've seen in a LONG time. Yarde was so brave but Beterbiev was so clinical.
The guys gave a real spectacle to the audience and the British audience clearly appreciated this. What a difference from a tedious fight between Dmitry Bivol and Craig Richards! Both Yarde and Beterbiev delivered in a big way.
Yarde is a real gentleman. Came to Beterbiev to shake hands after the fight.
Beterbiev might be physically very strong but he is 1000x more mentally strong. He is always affirming, even through the hard times, even when he got rocked by Callum
Johnson, he was affirming, he has mastered his mind

Bivol ducked Beterbiev since the Gvodzyk fight and waited for him to get
Old. Beterbiev demolished Joe Smith in a couple of rounds, and Smith took Bivol the distance. Beterbiev has beaten elite LHWs in Gvodzyk, and good LHWs in Browne, Smith etc. Bivol barely beat Richards, beat a Mexican midget who isn’t even a LHW and has pillow fists, he will get knocked out for sure by Beterbiev but is waiting for Artur to get old. And Yarde was Beterbievs mandatory he had to fight him

R1: 9:44 jab to the body shook Yarde. 11:18 again shakes him with a right hand to the body. 12:05 once again.
R2: 13:48 left hook, 13:52 Yarde headbutt's his eye. 14:39 sound of that 15:14 16:42 uppercut misses by a mile. 15:44 piston jab to head.
R3: 17:36 triple jab knocks out gumshield, 18:20 gunshot to the body again shakes Yarde. 19:57 combo 20:27, 21:22 eyes wide, almost went from that hook
R4: 21:35 big overhand, starts setting traps for it later, 21:38 24:48 wobbles again, 21:52, 24:53 big shot, legs go again, mauling begins. 22:00 another overhand. Yarde goes into shell, Beterbiev backs off. 23:08 more body work. 23:15 right hand 23:28 switched tactics baited Yarde in for overhand trap, turned him then mauls again. 24:11 more bodywork. 24:22 baits Yarde in for uppercut. 24:28 right hand to body. 25:01 another headbutt in eye

R7: 35:16 legs tangle, 35:41 short trap left hook, see the sweat fly off. 35:53 body work to uppercut. 36:04 baits into the ropes, turns then mauls once again. 36:31, 36:35 uppercut barely lands, misses again. 36:39 right hand, body work. 36:49 hopping like a bunny in complete control. 37:31 piston jab groggy, lucky overhand missed
R8: 38:02 sweat flies off from hook, 38:05 shot that will finish fight shortly, wasn't clean. 38:11 Beterbiev happily hopping. 39:06 piston jab, backed off to give Yarde confidence to come in 39:22 the end, trap set whole fight. Short right hand as Yarde threw. 39:38 Yarde wanted out, but stuck in like a champ. 39:46 Dangerous combo uppercut, right hand. Corner saved him from getting laid out. Well done. Spirited effort from Yarde but this monster was biding his time. 39:53 Beterbiev bows to the floor after every fight, religious thing like Morocco did after each game. He was just breaking him down as Yarde was very closed off early, with little bursts similar to Inoue Butler. All a matter of time.

Пересмотрел в замедленной сьемке момент удара в 8-м раунде и понял как Артур это сделал. Он просчитал действия Ярда. Ярд сделал свой частый прием: уклон вправо и апперкот. А Артур в этот раз не закрылся от удара, а прямо сверху по башке ему ударил со всей силы. От такого и тяжеловес не встанет)) Ярд просто не был к этому готов, не ожидал, что его так просчитают.
Это значит, что Артур не просто придерживается плана на бой, но и обучается в самом бою.
Интеллект и самообладание, браво!

Great stoppage. Minimize the damage to Yarde's brain so he can have a longer career. Great fight. Amazing to see the great instincts from years of trainig from both fighters.

Commentary was really biased towards Artur, the guys gone to the 12th round before and still knocked his opponent out, that's not just heart, it's skill, precision and conditioning, Beterbiev showed he was better in every department in this fight.
5-2 Beterbiev, Yarde worked really well in the first two rounds, but after the third, the Russian dominated all the fight. And the commentary was ridiculous, Yarde receiving a flory of punches and the commentators saying they're "exchanging punches" with "both boxers lading good shots" I cracked up listening to this. I'll not even talk about the judges, it's England folks, robbery is the rule.

I saw beterbiev in totale control, never had to push the pace. Yarde was never a problema and barely won One round and i think It was the best performance of career by Yarde. Simply there are tens of levels of difference betwren the two: beterbiev Is an elite boxer, yarde Is average, at best he Is at domestic level.

Just finished re-watching this masterpiece again...what a champion beterviev, all his fights are ended by KO , almost 40 years old if im not wrong....impressive stuff diffcult not to admire his power and defense.
Yarde is a good fighter and can take a punch. But Artur is a hunter.
Once he has worked out the strengths and weaknesses of his opponent, he comes in for the kill.

rob? Beterviev won 3 rounds only until the finish. and I bet on Beterviev and I was even on the attendance too. round 1,2,3,5,6 (6 was real close though) are all Anthony until he got stopped. Beterbiev only won the 4,7, and winning the 8 with a finish at the top of that. Beterbiev was getting out pointed but he's wearing down Anthony due to his constant power punches.

Such a great fight to watch ! Last minutes of round 5 and 7 were so enjoyable, absolute slugfest, both displayed great mental strength there ! I like both fighters but always rooted for beterbiev. I'm glad he won and I also think that this loss for Yarde is 10x more honorable than his past victories, he put up a great performance
he cheated though he was wearing padding to help better absorb the punches otherwise he wouldnt have lasted as long as he did against beterbiev the cheat
The bias against the Russian was unreal. Yarde loses his mouth piece twice, headbutts on the eye round 5 and 6. Nothing. Beterbiev doing what he usually does, break opponents down. He saw Yarde wasn't opening up so, switched tactics baiting him in for overhand.

The eastern style of boxing, more specifically, the russian, is extremely efficient. They make only the necessary movements. No extras. From footwork to head movement. They're usually where they're supposed to be. And timing is king, and placement proceeds timing.

Yes, Pirog, was king. But he adopted more of an US American style over time, mastered the Philly Shell. Mayweather style defense became his trademark

The east-European style is more about Bivol, Gvozdyk and Usyk. Beterbiev is an inside fighter, not an outside fighter like most East-European fighters.
Pirog was not a typical Russian fighter except in his mentality. His style was very American & slick.

Beterbiev absolutely showed is glass and granite body. Yes Yarde put in a great performance but there is no bloody way that he was ahead in any way. Yarde's trainer did a wonderful thing by stopping the fight, Yarde was not answering the refs instructions, honestly I don't know how he let him continue? But yea the trainer loves his fighter as there was some serious damage coming Yarde's way. Great stoppage by Beterbiev, he has to be top 5 pvp!!
not a close fight, but Betrbiev winning 5-1 with 1 round drawn before the final round. Was clear early on that Yarde would not be able to cope with Beterbiev's work rate, style, pressure and heavy hands. Yarde did well to take so many heavy shots...but Beterbiev was in control and doing the most damage from the beginning. Commentators and judges were delusional or worse.

Warren paid the judges to score it differently, like when Warren wanted Dubois to win (vs Joyce) the judges had Dubois leading on the cards.
Definitely not 5-1. 3 rounds to Yarde. Commentators were biased though.
Yarde won the first 2 and one more in between rounds 5 and 6. 4-3 to Artur before the KO is definitely not a blow out. Yes Betebiev showed he is better but Yarde did more than just 'take good shots' he landed a good few of his own and showed he belonged at that level.

Was a great fight, yarde gave up looked at his corner like do something here, tunde new his boy was going straight to hospital if he didn't throw towel in. Beterbiev what a boxer, great champion.
And an extremely entertaining and fan-friendly fighter at that - just compare this fight with Bivol vs Richards to see the difference.
Not fight of the year, Yarde tried and showed heart but in the end his stamina clearly let him down. Beterbiev punches hard till the final bell.

The mark on Yarde’s right eye was from punching himself in the face, he does it throughout the fight. 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
After watching Beterbiev dismantling Callum Smith, Yarde deserved more credit than he was given. He gave him a good fight although ahead of score card was obviously an attempted robbery by judges.
Judges need not be involved when beterbiev fighting.

The commentary wasn’t very neutral, in round 7 they were calling Yarde had weathered the storm, and the tide had turned.
Beterbiev looked stronger, Yarde was out on his feet. Beterbiev’s punches were more effective. Preferred the American commentary.
However great fight, Yarde was tremendous, showed a lot of courage.
At the end of that round Beterbiev threw a 35-punch combo in close quarters, almost unanswered.
