I suppose it depends on if we are valuing cultural Christianity or biblical Christianity because if we are truly following scripture then the culture doesn’t necessarily matter nor should it. If we are being guided by scripture then the cultural norms we grew up with and in shouldn’t matter, they should be surrendered and I believe that’s the whole point. Because if you are both rooted in scripture then you will inevitably be on the same page with the most fundamental things. Your choices and thoughts will be based on scripture and not culture.

I am a black person who has always gotten along better with white people or culture. In fact I got teased and ridiculed by my own race and told that I talk and act like a “white girl”. Now that I’m an adult I embrace who I am and know that I don’t have to like or identify with mainstream “black culture”. All of my closest friends are white and I feel like this would actually be a better match for me in a future marriage as well.

It will be, i am in an interracial marriage. All my closet friends have been white. I have had very few black females as friends, and I don’t think that will change. Your thoughts, culturally, are different about everything.

The exact same with me! I too am a black Christian woman and have had this told growing up.
Keep being true with your personality, do not fold for the "culture".... radiate Jesus ❤

Like the title, the conversation not so much. There’s one guy that seems to be dominating the convo his views are appreciated but a bit strong.

@@lark8356. Well I have 3 sons 2 of them both are in interracial marriages. We love our daughter in laws. I believe that some interracial marriages are ordained by God. The Indian guy has some personal things that as an Indian person, I’ve run into that same view from Indian people. They sometimes have a condescending attitude, tone, view of some of the races. ( they sound like him) They dominate the conversation and think there view is right-side up. The comment about white people have to be the “priority “ was really strong and made me disgusted. Everyone is not the same. His wife is not “all” white people view. Something he brings to the table are discussed pre-marriage, culture, appreciation of the cultures. He’s not right about his views.
The moderator is great he does a really good job bringing the conversation back to the center. I wanted to recommend the podcast to my sons. No so much. My husband and I love, love , love anything XO marriage puts out. This is the first podcast I did not enjoy. 😢
