Great idea regarding the nail file Felix, I have now fitted one to my Huntsman. All I did was wrap the file alongside the saw blade with a couple of folds of light kitchen aluminium foil. It keeps the file in place and takes no extra room. I used a piece of foil around 4cm wide and wrapped it tightly around both the saw and file a couple of times. It sits flat and if you finish with the the loose end tucked under the blade when its closed it wont move. The trick is to wind it tight. Love your videos 😊
Felix. I had a Huntsman that had burned slabs. Watching you do other thing in your workshop gave me the idea to make my own slabs. I used cherry that I had left over from making a flintlock rifle. The hardest part was inletting the spots for the toothpick and the tweezers. I also have the hole for a straight pin. It's only 2.4mm thicker than a regular Huntsman. Thanks for inspiring me to do this job.
Felix, you are the SAKK! (Swiss Army Knife King). Or, even better, KOTSAK (King of the Swiss Army Knife)!! Thank you for this excellent solution to a problem we ALL have faced before.
Felix, I kid you not, I took my nail file and tried to shove it somehow into my Huntsman light. It was too thick to fit because of the flashlight. Then you post this video lol. We think alike. Great video's. Much love from California :).
Great idea, @Felix Immler! I used to use a glass nail file for edge maintenance on the go, but I recently discovered the Victorinox Dual Sharpener. It’s a reliable tool that I can always count on. Thank you for sharing your work with us!
Awesome! Brilliant! Wunderbar! Once again, very informative - and an excellent idea! This is a very useful thing - even necessary, I would say... and that last bit with making a quick, handheld sharpening station, WITH A STICK - EXCELLENT!! Thank you for this, Felix! 😊
Felix Immler. The only crazy person on the planet who wants to make use of the few micron-wide indentation at the base of SAK saws and also, the only person on the planet who is capable of succeeding in that! Hats off, man, hats off!
Okay this is awesome, I just turned my couple of huntsmen into rangers basically, because now I have a file with me. Couple of bits of heat shrink work just great!
Genius, as always. From the past use of shrink tube, I immediately thought of its use when you were discussing how to store it in place. Next, how to store a fish hook and various needles, to include a curved glover's needle. Great class.
Thank you for the great advise on this trick, i will certainly try it on my outdoors knife as soon as i find corundum file, greetings all the way from Guatemala, CA
Coole Idee.
Hello there thank you for such a helpful channel. After years of buying not necessarily the wrong knifes I switched to a huntsman. Great knife. The knives I was using for edc were always just too big and of course the legality of carrying one comes into question. I love watching your channel because I get the maximum use out of my victorinox huntsman. The tip I'm passing on isn't my idea I saw a bushcraft channel about a year ago and it was there I got the information. When out and you need to start a fire one of the best things to have to help in this endeavour is a guitar pick. Very inexpensive and takes up zero room in your bug out bag. Just feather it with your blade and strike sparks with a ferro rod and you have a fire lickety split because the guitar pick is very flammable. Hope this was useful. Keep up the good work.
Thank you! I have a Swiss Army Knife in each car's emergency kit. I also have a small diamond sharpener in the kit, but this is just the thing for every day, it can fit in my knife and I don't have to keep track of a separate sharpener. All the best to you, Felix.
Was going to leave an excellent review - but no I won't, why? Your subscribers have beat me to it again 🤣. Thank you for your amazing imagination and excellent engineering skills. Keep up this stirling work Felix👍👍
Excellent solution to a common problem. Might I suggest that if you carry your larger SAK in a belt sheath, perhaps that could be modified to accommodate the file. What a great channel you have, thanks.
With every new Felix's video l think: that's all, nothin to invent anymore. But every Friday Felix surprise us more and more!!! Bravo! 👏👏👏👍👍👍
Your comment makes me happy!! Thank you very much Sean!!
Same thoughts exactly, lol. Well done to him, a genius at maximising the potential of a SAK
I'm with the other guys too! You never cease to amaze me with your ingenuity!! Oh and I never get tired of hearing that "hello you tube". 😀😀
Yes💪👍
I’m about to buy a ton of Leatherman simply because of the diamond file and now I found this video. I’m so excited. And so thankful you exist Felix.
One of your best hacks ever! I'm going to do about 10 of these lol
🤣🤣🤣but don't steal them form your wife... then you'll have a fire in the roof 😅😅
@@FelixImmler 😬 good point!
I immediately clicked the video while saying "how could it be possible?" and just wow... you're a swiss army knife god
Thank a lot Murat 😆😆

Thanks a lot Mike for this wonderful compliment!
This is the best. Been saying for years the SAK needs a removable file. Preferably a round file but this is good too.
Thanks for your comment!

A nail file, well I'll be. Off to find one. Felix is such an inspiring teacher.
