And oldie but goodie. I've watched many how to do video's on TH-cam and yours is the best even though its 4 years old now. Love this series. Have watched parts 1 and 2 several time and now my mind says "no more, right now, please". lol I have subscribed and have watched other videos as well (over a year now). Thank you. 1992, I wasn't doing videos back then but I did start learning computers and programing in 1967 on a 1401 in the basement of the Pentagon. I have pursued through PCs beginning with building my own 286 because that was the "thing back then" which took almost 5K if you bought one. Had my accounting firm with 44 employees back then and couldn't find someone to fix/update/etc them. So I learned and taught my youngest son.
Hi Steve, I just stumbled upon your channel while searching for Baby Boomers that vlog...and I agree with you...I don't see many TH-cam channels that cater to us...I'm 62. I have been trying to come up with an idea of what type of channel I could start, but not really coming up with anything that excited me...until I watched this video series. I've learned more watching your videos in the last hour or so, than I have in I don't know when. I absolutely love your teaching style and the flow of your content. I did subscribe and will continue consuming your content and hope to launch my own channel in the near future. Thank you sir for your help and encouragement!
Your 3-part How We Make Our Videos series was fabulous. I have been trying to add video to our marketing efforts over the past two years and this series really clarified some issues for me. You are a funny and smooth character with crazy IT skills who makes learning fun. Many thanks for ALL you do !
Thanks for this 3-video series, Steve. I enjoyed the learning opportunity that comes with all three videos, but this third video on publishing is most helpful as it could stand on its own as a great "how-to" for those who want to be able to publish and "set up" any video to TH-cam.
I actually have an important PRIVATE video to create for someone. Who knows, maybe some day I will want to created public videos too. At any rate, I took lots of notes and your clear explanation gave me the tools I think I need. Thanks.
I just got done watching all 3 parts of this series and found it pretty informative. I never knew how people did the green screen so that was really cool. And I see now how you capture your screen. However, I was also looking for tutorials on how people create the intros and endings, thumbnails (like yours have the orange overlays) and maybe transitions that I see people add to the videos they upload. Overall, I thought your videos were concise but informative and liked them very much. Thank you!
Yeah, now that I have all this spare time and the mortgage is no more, I was thinking of doing some Software Engineering videos on YT to get me up to speed with turning out a more glossy version for one of the teaching platforms. My wife is a teacher here in Scotland and I have been gleaming some practice from her on the subject, as well as watching your fantastic videos on TH-cam. Currently working for IBM Scotland as a Senior Soft Eng, I feel like it’s time to branch out and eventually turn that spare room we have into a Studio. You have certainly wetted my appetite for this media and if I get stuck along the way your great YT channel is always there. Thanks again Steve and please, you and the family stay safe..👍👍
Just starting to get my bearings on how to start publishing videos across social media. Watched all three in the series and this gave me a great basis to start. Thank you for the excellent teachings, Steve!
Dear Steve, Thanks for this video. I've already uploaded a couple of them on TH-cam, and familiar with the procedure, but I always learn something from your tutorials.
Much appreciated this great effort. I started the first video and ended up watching all three in one sitting. I found them highly engaging and wrote ton of notes while watching.Steve! Can't thank you enough for this sincere help to people like me.
hi Steve, thanks for your tutorial. I have been interested in Food and health since my middle 20's. I have decided to be a TH-camr and have made a plan and learning essential thing at the moment. Little bit scared about the language as I am non-native English speaker. But I will do it my way, my passion.. Thanks again this video is what I needed.
Thank you very much !! I am learning and I see I have some more work to do !! This video (3 of 3) was so informative that I have to go back to my videos and change some things !! Thank you !!
Steve, great series. The TH-cam side I did need some help with, what you added was just great, I never realized you could upload then change from private to public. Congratulation to you and your wife on your marriage
Steve, where have you been all my life? I just discovered your channel yesterday, your DJI Osmo 2 video was suggested to me (I am getting one next week) so I thought I'd take a look. Then I saw this series on creating TH-cam / Screencast videos...which is exactly what I want to progress onto over the next few months. So thank you and keep up the good work, love your style!
I like this series a lot, it's very to-the-point with real stuff, instead of hypotheticals. I think the series could also use a part about any of the third party services you use, for example for music or graphics that appear in the videos. And maybe a video where you go over some of the things that you tried in the past and abandoned.
Hey, Steve.Great teaching on making videos and creations. I remember you years back on your TV Days lol.I am presently getting ready to sign up for your online course as I'm sure I'll learn lots from your tech skills.
Hi Steve...awesome series! You may have caught this already, but you have a type-o in the title of your Steve’s Toolkit card. 😎 Thanks for all your hard work!
Thank you, Steve. I really want to start posting my super short videos to teach and improve others' Spanish skills. Your videos are fantastic!!! This one was done in 2018. Have you published more since then? Thank you for making your videos so so so so easy to follow.
Also consider describing how a YT USER/VIEWER can structure seeing what THEY want and not what YT selects for them. For instance, if I have a list of 467 channels, how to setup a method to select top 10, plus rotation of 20 others from main list each day. Also, how to configure YT to NOT show already watched videos in their right column of recommended "for me". Perhaps there are user front end interfaces I don't know about that do all that to enable seeing MY selections, not YT picks only.
Yeah, I just watched all three parts. I use ScreenFlow for my screen capture videos, but I've never used its green screen functionality. I gotta say, it does a pretty spot on job of it. But you've GOT to teach me how to fold up that damn green screen. I've got two of the same one you have, and I was ready to trash the things last year while I was moving. I never could get either one of them completely collapsed so that they fit in their carry cases. I stuffed 'em in (somehow), but they didn't go all the way in because I never could completely fold 'em up. It's pure wizardry to get them to fold completely as advertised. I sure never figured it out.
Hi Steve. Part 1 appeared in my recommendations, so i watched all 3 on this fine day. Very well done and highly informative, although not sure what i will do with that knowledge. Found it interesting about the control you have about the types of ads that are displayed; did not realize how much control rests with the author.

thanks Steve...do you think publish a video about social media managers like hootsuite , buffer etc.... ohh sorry i just saw a couple of videos that you mention them.. may be you want to refresh ....
Good info.! The whole series was good. If you want to do it, it should be done the right way. The new topic is the redesign of the New Gmail. I like to get your input? The trust factor is the most important thing for me. That is why I subscribe to your TH-cam page.
thanks Steve, have shared all three videos with the Professional Speaking Association in the UK & Ireland - so hopefully you will get a few followers to your channel Any chance you could do a video about how you plan out/schedule your week - ideas, research, content, production etc. I've started using ASANA and love it but it would be great to see how you use it (or Trello or another tool) to schedule your activity hope you're enjoying married life big guy
OK, Steve. You use the windshield shade version of a green screen. Cool. What stand do you mount it on? I can find the screens, but they don't come with stands. Please and thank you.
Steve, did you ever consider offering coaching to your community? You know, kinda like à la Roberto Blake but with a Canadian 'kinder, nicer" flavour? Some of us (me) would appreciate constructive feedback on our videos. The screencasting FB group has its limits.
Great guidance. Perhaps do an updated one with the new YT interface., plus one for each social media marketing campaign type. Then perhaps one discussing whether it works to post YT links on Facebook because what I have read is FB censors or limits their visibility to prevent people going away from FB. The problem is I have a large local FB following and don't really want to spend time making anduploading separate video versions on FB.
I just finished this series. Great stuff. I published one video 4 years ago, my first, to document a trip for my dad who was on hospice at the time. The video still gets around 10k views every month. I do have a few others with no such success. I have retired recently so I have decided to work at this a bit. I have some tutorial type videos to make. I am learning much and your videos are very helpful and informative. I am struggling with one aspect that you have not mentioned. My computer screen reflects in my glasses to completely block out seeing my eyes on the video. I have moved things around a bit without success. I noticed you do not have this problem. Any tips or tricks on how to overcome this? Thanks for the great videos.
how do i tell the difference between views that came from me and ones from other people? i am just getting started and have 30 views on one of my videos. i lost track of how many times i searched for it or entered the link i sent myself in email (i was testing out my clicking skills)- can i tell those apart from "real world" clicks?
Sir....if i have created multiple playlist in my account then is it possible to have a subscriber notified only about one playlist for which he subscribed my channel and not for other playlist videos ?????????thanks....
This was great! I have been trying to understand the workflow, equipment and software for this process.I still don';t understand the monitization process if you just want to make a customizable thumbnail. I have poured your video to get a good understanding of this new world for me. Your great.
And oldie but goodie. I've watched many how to do video's on TH-cam and yours is the best even though its 4 years old now. Love this series. Thank you for the three-part series. I’m just beginning my career as a TH-camr and I can see that this is the correct way for me to proceed.
Steve provides some of the best instructional tutorials and info share on TH-cam. Thanks, steve.
Oh, thank you! Grateful for your feedback.

I remember watching Dotto's Data Cafe on TVO as a kid; I still find your youtube videos amusing as I did watching it on the CRT tv many years ago.

Thank you Steve!. Most intense thorough lesson I ever received on the subject. - And in short order too!
Thanks Steve. Watched all three videos, great content. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Awesome, thank you! Are you going to start making your own videos?
Yeah, now that I have all this spare time and the mortgage is no more, I was thinking of doing some Software Engineering videos on YT to get me up to speed with turning out a more glossy version for one of the teaching platforms. Steve! Awesome series! You make everything look smooth and easy! Thank you for that!
Just watched your 3-part series - nicely done. Many thanks!
Glad you like them!
Just starting to get my bearings on how to start publishing videos across social media. Watched all three in the series and this gave me a great basis to start. Thank you for the excellent teachings, Steve!
Thank you this was very informative. Hopefully will be starting my TH-cam channel in a few weeks.
I wish I had watched this BEFORE i uploaded some of my videos. It would have saved me some headaches. Thanks for putting this series together!
Dear Steve, Thanks for this video. I've already uploaded a couple of them on TH-cam, and familiar with the procedure, but I always learn something from your tutorials.
Hi Steve, thank you for your videos. I've probably watched a hundred or so. I trust your advice!
Excellent videos on creating tutorials Steve, thanks a Lot !!!
Much appreciated this great effort. I started the first video and ended up watching all three in one sitting. I found them highly engaging and wrote ton of notes while watching.Steve! Can't thank you enough for this sincere help to people like me.

Congratulation to you and your wife on your marriage
Great tutorial very imformative and precise. thankx 👌🏼
I’m glad you found us! Welcome aboard
Hi Steve, first congratulation with your marriage! thanks for the good information about uploading videos. learned a lot from you, Thanks.
I love your channel and find all the videos very interesting even though i wouldnt class myself as a tech nerd.
Watched all 3 episodes. Great
really liked and enjoyed this series.
Nice.
Make tutorial on how to make custom thumbnail for youtube.
Another great video, Steve
Thank you Steve . good information

New Gmail video is already made, just finishing up for publishing, will be out this week! Thanks for the feedback!
Hi Steve, thank you for all you do! What do you use to make your custom thumbnails?
they are designed by our editor, she uses a screen grab and photoshops the overlay
Great série, thanks
thanks Steve, have shared all three videos with the Professional Speaking Association in the UK & Ireland - so hopefully you will get a few followers to your channel

Thanks!
thanks for the 3 part program
You are a great teacher!
Do you have any suggestions for reducing the file size of a screenflow video?
Thank you!
Editing files are large, but when you output you can determine the resolution
I will experiment with this.
Thank you for replying, Steve!
OK, Steve. You use the windshield shade version of a green screen. Cool. What stand do you mount it on? I can find the screens, but they don't come with stands. Please and thank you.
The pop up screen I bought included the stand,
Great I like your videos
awesome dude
useful video.

Great Video's Steve! Comment: Did you misspell Toolbox or is Toolkbox correct ?
LOL typo
Excellent stuff!
