I am a kindergarten para and this video was amazingly helpful. I am not good with technology but I have had to learn very quickly. I watched a few other videos on loom and yours was by far the best one I saw. Thank you for helping teachers who have had to adapt very quickly to all these new resources.
I am a HS teacher, and thanks to COVID being thrown into cyber lessons, and I will be using loom. I have to say, that you are a very skilled presenter, and I hope I can find more education based content from you. You sir, have a real knack for teaching and captivating your audience!
Thank you Steve, this is exactly what I needed! I'm creating a year-long training program for massage and physical therapists and I needed to make it more interesting than just a bunch of Word docs and instructional videos. I'm looking forward to learning more from you because I think you're a wonderful teacher!
Thank you for creating this introduction to Loom. More importantly, thank you for informing your viewers that Loom Pro is free for educators and students. I found you via a blog post by Kathleen Morris (Primary Tech). As a K-12 ESL teacher in a public school, I was using a different screen casting tool in its basic form (this other service required a paid subscription for advanced features). Having a free Loom Pro membership is going to make communicating with English Language Learners simple. By the way, I like you Mr. Bill figurine.
Steve I use Loom 10 times a day to communicate with customers. You put me onto this with your first video about loom. You also put me onto Evernote and Skitch and one or two other things and like you I sort of move around as things improve. I can only thank you as I would've had to have found most of these things myself so you've been a good help good luck to you. PS if you want to reach out for more information please get in contact I don't use Loom to do tutorials as it's a little bit basic mainly put mine on TH-cam speak soon
I thought this was a GREAT explanation of Loom. I had not heard of Loom until just today. And I have been looking for something like this for awhile!! Great video!!
I so love this simplicity for screen casting. I have been struggling with learning OBS and now considering Streamyard. I teach art and want to create content for viewing on FB, TH-cam and for my private students. I'm worn out with high tech, so perhaps this is the way to go for a beginning. Your video was great! Thank you.
Thanks for this video!! My mom is a college professor and she’s stressing about having to do online lectures bc of remote learning, so I’ve been doing some research to find some easy programs. Going to suggest loom to her now. Thanks!
I was looking at TVO's video archives and found a video of you on "more to life" in maybe 1999 or 2000, talking about internet security. awesome to see you're still helping people with tech! made me smile ☺️
WOW cannot wait to get into this! Im a Prof and have been going insane trying to create educational videos. It's been a really bad "Abbott and Costello" routine! My son teaches middle school Special Ed and highly recommended LOOM! I'm in! Love your tutorial Steve and am actually NOW excited to get going! Stay tuned and HUGE THANKS! PS... will share with my other luddite cohorts!
Brilliant explanation! Wish I had you as a teacher back in the day. You have really inspired me to do 'How To...' videos by using this simple tool. Thank you for sharing your knowledge in a clear, unpretentious way. :)
Once again, you have done a masterful job of explaining how this tool works and I, for one, am thrilled to find such a simple way to share powerpoints with my students! I've tried all sorts of other tools but have run into numerous tech issues - Loom sounds like just the right amount of options-vs-ease for a simple tech tool. Thank you!
Thank you Steve, I was watching your camtasia video but unfortunately it does not have an option for Chromebooks. After a quick search I found Loom. Then I found your video for Loom. It is a great Tutorial even three years later from the day you recorded it. Anyhow Im going to use it for the sale of steel buildings and some training.
Thank you very much. I am a teacher librarian and I am looking for ways to read a story, highlight the book and had a small picture of me. This looks great.
Great video Steve and I just discovered Loom today. It's simple and easy to use and I'll have to remember to send you a tutorial once I've created my first one (it will be photography related). I've enjoyed many of your videos over the past few years. Thanks for your tips as always and i'll pass this onto teachers as well.
Love your stuff. And you look great on camera!. Do you have a vid sharing what you use? And if we want to share a loom vid with you how de we send it? Thx, Tina
Steve you are my "go to" guy for learning new apps, extenstions, tech. I have been watching for years. If you have a video on something to learn you are the "click" for sure. Love the essence of your positivity in all your videos (and "stormin' castles" hahahaha)! Thanks, again, for Loom intro. I also am trying Screencastify. Would you recommend one over the other?
Great tutorial! One of the best I have watched on Loom! I am an instructional coach and I will be sharing this with all my teachers! Thank you. Stay safe!
Thanks for the info. Need to prepare some talks for conferences this summer (were supposed to be live, but Covid-19) and was trying to figure out if I needed to get an updated version of Pinnacle (I have 19) or if I could do it with Loom. Also, was trying to figure out if I could mix in a separate recording from my high quality camcorder.
Lynne will work for recording your talk, but in order to insert other video you’re going to have to take the file download it and edit it in a traditional editing package
You asked for teachers to share how they are using Loom. Im shy. Im not sharing one of mine with the world. I will explain though. I am not currently class committed so my lock down role this time around it a bit different. My school have ring fenced “story time” particularly for younger children. Every day I read a book to the 5 and 6 year olds. I start by photographing every page of the book. I make a power point with the photos. I then record myself reading the book, with my wee picture showing. I do this because younger children need the connections that brings. I am not some actor or author reading to the world. I am a teacher they know well, reading just to them. It promotes the love of books and keeps the connections going. I download the video, then post it to google classroom. I love loom, but die to some issues i had with it recently ( now resolved) I had to try Zoom. I much prefer the speed zoom gives you. Cuts the time it takes between stopping the recording and posting it to google class, by at least a half. Thank you for this video. I found the latter part of you video most informative because I am demented by messages and emails arriving during recordings. Even those coming from the school flash up more information than pupils require to know 😉
Thanks for this tutorial on Loom. Do you know if, with the desktop version, it is possible to record the camera only, then press pause, switch to screen only, then pause again and switch to camera only? Thanks for all that you do
Great video thank you. The option to select a portion of the screen only is perfect because I can then view my notes for a slide while presenting. Keeps the slide from getting cluttered and keeps me from forgetting key discussion points. Hope that helps someone else
Steve, for pre-recorded instructional style videos with mark up, it sounds like loom is better than zoom. I have used camtasia, but can be a bit time consuming with production and all. And on an iPad Pro.
Thank you for teaching us how to use these tools. I have seen you use the floating arrow in several of your instructional videos. I am curious to know how you create and add that arrow to your presentations. Also, can it be done on the fly in a Zoom mt'g?
Fabulous! I made a first video successfully, but it was nice to see that I had not missed some secret information EXCEPT for the difference between the extension and the desktop version. That's very helpful. Now I'm wondering, if we upload the video to YT, whether YT can recognize and create closed captions. But that's another story! Thanks a bunch.
Thanks again! This video was very simple, easy to understand and easy to apply:=)) I noticed that you're using a Mac computer which has good "Accessibility" features for low- vision students and adults. It allows you to enlarge the cursor/pointer so that your viewers can track your movements within the screen.
I am a kindergarten para and this video was amazingly helpful. I am not good with technology but I have had to learn very quickly. I watched a few other videos on loom and yours was by far the best one I saw. Thank you for helping teachers who have had to adapt very quickly to all these new resources.
As a teacher, I appreciate your clarity! Thank you for not assuming I knew anything, like others do. Bravo!
I am a HS teacher, and thanks to COVID being thrown into cyber lessons, and I will be using loom. I have to say, that you are a very skilled presenter, and I hope I can find more education based content from you. You sir, have a real knack for teaching and captivating your audience!

This is the best easy tutorials i have listened to. I am now a big fan. You made it so easy. Thank you.
Thanks so much! I`m a teacher from Argentina, I`ve been working a lot online lately and your videos are super helpful!

Awesome to hear Steve, thanks so much for sharing!
I thought this was a GREAT explanation of Loom. I had not heard of Loom until just today. And I have been looking for something like this for awhile!! Great video!!
Just Brilliant. This is the best explanation I have found on TH-cam!! Congratulations on reaching 300K subscribers.
Love what you do Steve and I love to introduce people to you!!

Thank you, Candace, for the warm feedback. Reading feedback like yours makes my heart sing.
starting this school years is a bit daunting. Your video instruction guided me easily to begin a video for my first day of school. Thanks so much!
Thanks for this video!! My mom is a college professor and she’s stressing about having to do online lectures bc of remote learning, so I’ve been doing some research to find some easy programs. Going to suggest loom to her now. Thanks!
You have the best explanation of how to LOOM! Thanks!
Wow, thank you!
I am a teacher from Australia and I have found this video really helpful. I will share on my Linkedin now. Thanks
Thanks for sharing!
I absolutely Love that I can create a how to/informative video from Power Point Slides! Thank you Steve!
I can't thank you enough! You're videos have been immensely helpful over the past month.
I'm so glad!
I was looking at TVO's video archives and found a video of you on "more to life" in maybe 1999 or 2000, talking about internet security. awesome to see you're still helping people with tech! made me smile ☺️
I would love to see that. thanks for sharing

Thanks so much for all these videos. My class has been the benchmark for running a virtual class
Brilliant explanation! Wish I had you as a teacher back in the day. You have really inspired me to do 'How To...' videos by using this simple tool. Thank you for sharing your knowledge in a clear, unpretentious way. :)

I needed to learn this (quick!) to record for a video for a job interview..Very easy to learn and thank you for the easy and fast explanation!
Thanks from Zimbabwe!
Thank you too!
Thank You! Learning to do a virtual classroom has been a challenge, but so greatful for videos such as this to help me get started.
Well done Sir, a true pro! Big fan of Loom.
Thank you Steve, for all that you do ! Your instructions are done very well ! Kudos ! Sincerely the snazz
Nice video on a simple video development tool. Great camera presence. Will share and save.
Great tutorials, TY! How do you do the lighting for your videos and keep your glasses from reflecting the light? What microphone do you have? TY!
Hello how are you doing today ❤
Loom will be a great asset to have in the toolbox.
Great timing for this one. I was asked to create a Loom video to further explain a software bug report. I must say, it was pretty easy and painless.
Glad it was helpful!
Great video Steve. Keep up the good work.
Thanks, will do!
Thank you for your video! Which tool do you use to zoom on your screen (example in your video between 5:58 and 6:06)? Thanks!
I saw many videos about loom app. but your video was the best
Thanks, I appreciate that!
Nicely done Steve! Not a surprise, you always do a GREAT JOB!!!!
Thank you, new beginner to Loom. I really understood your video, so much easier to follow.
Just getting started instructing this school year and your video was incredibly helpful! Thank you!!
This is an excellent video tutorial about loom.
I'm so glad you find it useful.
Thank you so much! This is exactly what I was looking for! Cannot wait to try it now! 🙏
Thank you for such a clear, simple video. So helpful!
Thanks Steve. Shout out from South Africa... best video tutorials thanks
Thank you very much. I am a teacher librarian and I am looking for ways to read a story, highlight the book and had a small picture of me. This looks great.
Nice job, Steve - thanks. I'm glad you showed the additional features, like the annotation tool.
Thank for sharing. i have been using Quicktime Player for some of my videos. Loom vs. Screencatify, which is better?
Great video Steve and I just discovered Loom today. It's simple and easy to use and I'll have to remember to send you a tutorial once I've created my first one (it will be photography related). I've enjoyed many of your videos over the past few years. Thanks for your tips as always and i'll pass this onto teachers as well.
Great video Steve! Thanks for it!

Steve, You alerted me to EverNote and now Loom. Thanks. You're a great guy.
Glad to help
What kind of camera are you using for your videos , its so clear and bright
Thanks again for sharing this. I will certainly use it when I don't want to deal with Screenflow and will share it with my students too.
Thanks Steve! Comprehensive and very helpful, as always. Much appreciated.
Glad it was helpful, Matt!
Thank you, Steve - I think that Loom will work just fine for my online English language courses! Well explained as usual!
Thanks a lot! Love your presentation
Hello how are you doing today ❤
Can loom be uploaded to seesaw?
I have not used seesaw
Can we blur out parts of the loom? I appreciate your tutorial's.
Thank you Dotto for this video, Loom is exactly the tool I was looking for without knowing it existed. Nice job !
Glad you liked it
Great video! I have to create a digital presentation for my white paper. This was a very helpful tutorial.
Love your stuff. And you look great on camera!. Do you have a vid sharing what you use? And if we want to share a loom vid with you how de we send it? Thx, Tina
nicely explained. But how to zoom the wanted text or desk

Thanks. You mean Loom, not Lynne?
@@dottotech By the way, you sound like my undergrad EE advisor (voice & cadence). That's a good thing.
Thanks Steve. Excellent video. It's time to play with Loom!
Really well explained. Thanks so much - will be sharing to my teaching colleagues :)
STEVE , I really like this app. I think I will give it a try. Thank you for that. Great Presentation by the way.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the info. Very helpful.
thanks for the demo of Loom. It is a superb tool due to its simplicity.
It really is!
Thanks a lot for sharing!!! Great video!!
Great Job! Thanks
Our pleasure!
thank you - you explain things so clearly :-)
I'm ecstatic to hear this. Thank you!
Enjoyable, informative video. Thank you very much!!!
Great video! Thanks!

Another great video and brilliant timing, too. I came across Loom yesterday and wondered “Hmmmm,... How do I incorporate this?”
Ta dah! Thanks Steve!
Awesome! Thank you!

You are awesome!
superb explanation Steve as usual. and the usual infectious enthusiasm. power to you!
Really helpful 'how to video'. Thank you very much
Thank you Uncle Steve.
Great video thank you. The option to select a portion of the screen only is perfect because I can then view my notes for a slide while presenting. Keeps the slide from getting cluttered and keeps me from forgetting key discussion points. Hope that helps someone else
Glad it helped!
Great and informative video!
I've been using Loom for years. Now I have to figure how you did the circular self view. Thanks again.
We also use Screenflow for this video, so you won’t be able to do all of the video effects that I use within loom
Hey! thank you for this video!
Steve - superb resource, well done. Quick question from Ireland - zoom is not recognising my camcorder as a second camera. Any ideas?
WOW that is incredible I am on this one Steve! What a great find
Love your tutorial, best so far. But What do I do wrong that I don't see the option "Custom Size" on my desktop app
Steve, for pre-recorded instructional style videos with mark up, it sounds like loom is better than zoom. I have used camtasia, but can be a bit time consuming with production and all. And on an iPad Pro.
Hi Steve - great video! How can I add the little graphics that you have added to your video? Your name, the graphics, dropping in, etc.?
Useful and quickly to the point. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
How awesome! You're great! Thank you
Thank you for teaching us how to use these tools. I have seen you use the floating arrow in several of your instructional videos. I am curious to know how you create and add that arrow to your presentations. Also, can it be done on the fly in a Zoom mt'g?
not in zoom. we add the arrow in our editing process. I think it comes from a clip art collection we licensed from Envato
Fabulous! I made a first video successfully, but it was nice to see that I had not missed some secret information EXCEPT for the difference between the extension and the desktop version.
