Thank you, Steve. You have been doing this for a good while, so I hope you can clarify something. I have watched video after video, and no one tells us any camera settings for going LIVE. When my video partner and I record video we have our synchro scan on and the shutter speed is set to angle. Can we use the same for LIVE? What are the better file types? I guess there is no file size, but Ecamm does save a file. Frame rate? Bit rate? Just anything we want? No one talks about this, so does it not matter? 1080p or 720p for Facebook. I am beginning to think I am asking a dumb question. LOL.
I had to wait until the end to learn the answer to the question - What hardware did you run Ecamm on - but you did answer it. It runs on a Mac. It sure is a great program and it looks like it makes it easy to do a desktop type of live stream. Will you do another type? The type I am interested in learning about is when you are not at a desktop. You are out in the field playing Pokémon go on an IOS Phone or Pad and want to show the game and Chat at the same time. It seems that only Android with YTGaming can do this. Is there any good portable Apple software, like Ecamm for this?
You need an HDMI converter between your camera and computer. A typical camera has an HDMI OUTPUT port only. And your computer (MAC or Windows) typically has an HDMI INPUT port only. Your computer should automatically work when you plug in your camera without special software. I use an AGPTEK USB 3, 1080P, 60 FPS capture card (external box) and it works fine on my MacBook Pro and should work on just about any "recent" computer. As an alternative, you can use a Logitech WebCam that simply plugs into your USB port and looks amazing! Good luck!

Can you stream your desktop audio in ecamm live? I am currently using OBS and a mac and it is frustrating that it isn't simple to do. I want to be able to stream audio files from iTunes and then my voice on top through a mic and be able to adjust the volumes separately.
Hey Steve, You may have answered this question elsewhere, but I couldn't find it. Can you use Ecamm live with a hardware encoder like the AJA Helo? I'd like to minimize the processor usage by allocating the encoding responsibility elsewhere, but still take advantage of the titles and switching abilities of ecamm live. Is this possible?

Hey Steve, does Ecamm allow you to switch to a different FB account (because I have two)? I dont mean streaming live to both accounts at the same time I mean just going live through Ecamm with one of my FB accounts one day and then going live again with Ecamm the next day with my other FB account? Hello Steve, love your videos. I was wondering if you could make a similar video something like "Streaming and recording for newbies" using Open Broadcaster Software. It's apparently a nice tool for Windows but it's easy to get overwhelmed by it.

StreamLabs OBS for PC for sure. It’s called SLOBS for short. It’s pretty amazing from what I understand. It’s what Nick Nimmin uses for his live-streams.

It was a good tool for me to watch. The picture looked good except when you change views it got a little darker. But overall it was good. I watch a lot of video on youtube and you should have a good mic. Yout mic and audio was good.

No, the software only uses the graphics card encoder.

What camera do you use for livestreams, do you use a capture card, and what brand?
Currently for Livestreams I’m just using a logitech brio WebCam, it’s USB and doesn’t require a capture card
