Because he completely mutilated his body. No person in their right mind would go so far. But society is encouraging this behavior. Just look at the comments here. While it is definitely courageous to change your appearance and become your authentic self, at some point a person should be encouraged to accept their body as it is.
That shows transgender people's problems are not solved solely by undergoing hormone treatment, surgery and transition. Many transgendered persons suffer from mental health and substance abuse issues before and after transition. Some are also suicidal.
Thanks Elliot. Read your book and many more trans stories. You are very honest about how your trans experience is not the universal trans story, particularly because of your success and financial situation. That still does not mean you did not struggle and suffer finding your authentic self. It just hilights how much harder it is for others not as fortunate as you. So glad you are happier and less ashamed now. For those people commenting that you look unhappy or sad, they do not realize thst of course its difficult to relive the difficult parts of your journey. Its generous of you to share your story.

A really insightful interview. I hope anybody coming to this video in bad faith can stop for a sec and think "am I really listening to this person or am I coming in with my own baggage?". Nitpicking someone's mannerisms and how happy/unhappy someone "seems" in a conversation about their years of trauma in hollywood.. feels driven by anger and a refusal to empathise. I hope this sort of behaviour dies down soon and the conspiracy theorists and satanic panic people find something better to do with their time.
There is so much hurt and sadness in those eyes and energy. Should have gotten emotional help and deep therapy instead of encouraging changing genders to solve issues, which most definitely doesn't seem to have solved much. Still seems so unhappy. I feel sad listening to the energy.

I’ve not followed his story until just now when I saw a clip of her promoting Inception on the jonathon Ross show and discovering what’s happened since then. If all this makes him happy then we shouldn’t judge. Simple as that. If it’s not making him happy then the conversation needs to be had about the big changes that people are making. It’s an unknown new world that’s happening and as yet nobody knows about long term mental or physical developments. But wish him all the best and hope happiness is achieved.
Life is getting harder for trans people. In the US there are groups trying to drive us out of public spaces altogether. Elliot is a high profile trans person, making him a target of that nonsensical hate all too often. _Of course_ he seems sad.
