I’ve been a fan for years, Carli. I’m 60 years old and a widow. I too just had a recent breakup. May I say a huge ‘thank you’ for your great presentation in helping all of us ladies. Congrats on being such fabulous support as we all face challenges. Wishing you the best ahead!!

My main piece of advice is actually for post-post breakup.
We’ve all seen the girl who goes from relationship to relationship and in between “finds herself” or loses a ton of weight or “glows up” and then gets in a relationship again and bam, she’s back to square one and rinse and repeat.
Find yourself during the breakup, yes. But actively work to KEEP yourself, even if you’re in a relationship. That’s when you’ll really glow up and find your true partner. Don’t make a relationship your entire life or personality and keep growing. Because even if that relationship ends, the relationship you have with yourself is still solid.

12 year relationship ended recently and I'm currently watching this in bed with a bag of Wendy's 😂 being in the moment is so hard and I cry everyday, multiple times a day, but I know God has a plan for me. Just gotta have faith. Its just, again, hard when you're in the moment with the feeling of a deep sinking sorrow in your chest...

You are strong girl. I know you can get through this and I’m so happy to hear that you know God has a plan for you.
I ended my 8 year relationship because I was so unhappy and felt it was toxic. It was really difficult and having anxiety about turning 31 with no husband and kids makes it feel even worse. Especially because my girls are all married and have kids. But I keep reminding myself, I’d rather feel lonely than be married to someone who makes me unhappy.

I found my person when I was 29! I had gone through some bad relationships and was just focusing on myself. Making good financial decisions, focusing on my health. Then I reconnected with a guy I had a fling with years prior. I wasn’t wanting anything serious, but before we knew it, we realized we were perfect for each other. We both went through bad relationships and we both had so much growth. Fast forward 3 years, we’re married and have our first baby on the way. I’ve never been closer to anyone in my life. We have great financial goals and I couldn’t imagine my life without him. And he’s so excited to be father. I can’t wait for our next chapter. ❤

She was more important !! You can do it, you will get over anyone. You may hurt, be sad, grieve, but that’s ok !! I FOUNd PEACE, and you will too !! Don’t LET ANYONE TAKE YOUR SUNSHINE AWAY. Ladies, most importantly, take advice from people who are in long and successful relationships. I've been with my husband 15 years and I can honestly say, be confident with yourself and being alone. Look for a teammate/partner, not someone to save you. Also, don't move in together right away, and have babies before marriage. Have respect for yourself. Don't compare your relationship to others. Don't give up at the first sign of trouble. Relationships take work on both ends. And just don't settle.

You're absolutely right. I was single for 2 yrs, worked on myself, gained self worth, confidence... I was happy being alone and really had no desire to change that. Then I met my now husband. I honestly didn't think partners like him existed... we're going on 10yrs together, 4 yrs married, and have a beautiful 3yr old and 16 month old. I'm so grateful I never settled for less. Healing and taking time for myself was the best thing I could do for myself. Lots of love to you and your son 💗

When my ex broke up with me, i was devastated at first. You only remember the good and it felt extra shitty to be blindsided by it. But time makes you see clearer and clearer. My breakup was one of the best things that happened to me. I was settling for a man who was immature, selfish, and thought that power and abusing women was normal. I look back and severely regret not leaving him when i really wanted to. I lost myself and everything i thought i was. I was no longer the person i wanted to be and was stuck being manipulated and abused so much that i didnt recognize myself. I hated my life. But now, being single is truly amazing. I dont have to compromise, mix schedules, share things, check-in, etc.

@@ayeeyoya wow I’m so sorry for both situations dear. My friend completely broke my heart, sort of like a stab in the back; and this was 13 years ago. I still have dreams about her in my life and I think it’s because I never properly closed that chapter. I just distanced myself and never explained what I discovered. She was my best friend for 9 years of my life . What Ive come to learn is that not every friend is meant to remain in your life . And sometimes you consider someone your best friend but they consider someone else their best friend and that’s ok. I just wish it wasn’t so painful till this day to remember. I hope you heal your wounds . It’s hard for sure .

I will say people also need to look at themselves when they go through a breakup. You can't always say to yourself "well it's their loss"..no.
Sometimes it's your loss. Maybe you thought you were a great partner by your limited understanding of what a partner should be, but in reality you weren't. There's always room to grow.

    • @TheAjda2011

Yes! Same thing came to mind. If you're constantly going through the same thing with different individuals then you may be the problem. There should be respect, compromise and communication in a relationship. We can't expect to find the "perfect" person when we don't bring our "perfect" into it. Plus no one will ever be perfect.

I've been going back and forth the last 3 years since I got pregnant and had our son. I've been so scared to walk away and feeling guilty, but I can't deal with the mental and emotional turmoil and manipulation anymore. I have to figure out a new job, car, and place to live but I'm so ready to be done. I told myself this was the year I walk away and get myself together especially for my son.

when you keep going from relationship to relationship most of the time is a “me” problem not a “all of them are the problem”, … laddies it’s okay to think of ourselves as worthy but when you put your beauty up in a pedestal and assume you ALWAYS deserve better, that’s no longer “self love “ that’s called “pride”! And pride will always bring a fall. Sometimes just sometimes it’s best to concentrate on working in our own selves that’s also “self love”..

The best advice I can give is always do what makes you feel good & do not chase, act unbothered if he makes you mad… and if you guys cannot grow together and be understanding of each other’s feelings, it’s probably best to just go on and put energy into people who care for you because you cannot make anyone get on your level if they’re not ready. Don’t let anyone continuously disrespect you. make boundaries! You show them how to treat you. Stand up for yourself. ❤

I had a miscarriage with my ex. I was terrified to tell him so I waited 4.5 months which was so awful on my part. He said if I didn’t have a baby with him he wouldn’t be with me. He mentally abused me for 9 months yet I still felt I loved him. He kicked me out last week after I told him we lost our baby girl in Sept. I’m in therapy and I’m just praying to God I can get over this awful pain I feel in my chest. I know he wasn’t right for me, but to be discarded like that has been beyond hurtful. I’m grateful for my family and friends who have embraced me during this time. Again you rock Carli. 💕

I am going through a divorce after 18 years and 3 children together.... It's very hard... very.. but I know that it is what's best for me and my kids, this really should have happened a long time ago, but even though our relationship has had more bad times than good, he has been my "normal" for so long that I lost myself somewhere in those 18 years and have basically been his puppet... We were 21 and 20 when we got together and are 38 and 39 now so just completely different people.... It's so hard and there are days when I feel like going back would just be the easy thing to do, but I watch uplifting videos like these and stay strong in my decision. Yes it's absolutely important to know your worth and not settle for less than what we deserve -SO IMPORTANT!
I also think that it's just as important to realize that your partner or the next person also deserves the best, so it's important that it works both ways. Sometimes we are quick to shift the blame to someone else for unhappiness in a relationship without acknowledging what we are doing wrong🤷‍♀️.

It is totally true that in the moment you might feel very down or think you can’t get through it but you definitely will. At 28 years old I got very sick and was hospitalized several times. At the time my first husband was deployed. When he returned after 12 months with no R&R (military meaning that they don’t get to come home for a break), he was suffering with PTSD. I suffered permanent nerve damage and was still dealing with my new disability while being forced out of my job. While I was trying to recovering and getting him acclimated back here in the States. After taking care of him for a year and a half after returning home and being with him for 9 years, he told me he wanted to be alone. I was divorced at 30 years old and had to start over again but at that time, I felt the “hits” just kept coming. I eventually met my 2nd husband and I think back, thank God all of that happened because it led me to my life now which is so much better! Just keep your head up and keep fighting on because most things happen for a reason, and you usually wind up in a much better place once you get through those tough times! ☺️♥️

I was never in a relationship, a lot of people wanted the wrong things first (hookups) and not date. I’m 28, but that all showed me what I want in a man and what I don’t ! Even dating apps are coming across people you don’t know, and I feel like if people don’t know you through those dating apps, they’re not gonna “get to know you” that’s why its better to know someone, and build a relationship through a friendship 😊if you go that route of meeting people. But don’t worry about them, worry about yourself at the end of the day and build that version of yourself ☺️.

Volunteer, serve at your church and in your community, get involved in your church, learn something new, get hobbies, learn things you want your future spouse to know it be( fitness/health, good cook, get your finances together)Also I would encourage everyone to not be intimate- that’s what makes it so hard to break up. God created us to be equally yoked and when we are intimate it binds us to a person you may not have connected with or stayed with as long as you did had you not been intimate.

I was so scared that I’d never find another relationship (and I’m still single but I’m okay with it). Everything you said here is 100% true. I realized that after I broke up with him it allowed me to truly thrive, and he was holding me back in many different parts of my life. Despite going through a breakup, 2022 was one of the best years of my life, since I was able to do whatever the fuck I want, whenever I wanted. I had a one and a half year old baby and it was the most devastating time of my life and I felt so lost. I did find the love of my life a year and a half later who I have been with for almost 14 years. More videos like this please (on TH-cam as a whole) I feel that so many people feel like if they're not in a relationship they're not complete. I've been single for almost 8 years and I love it, some family members keep asking me why I'm still single and find it weird, as if being single isn't a beautiful thing.
After my last relationship I did some of the toxic things that Carli mentioned in the video, hanging onto a person that clearly didn't care about me. It was especially painful because the person I was in a relationship had been my friend for 9 years before we started a relationship. When that ended I lost a friend and a boyfriend, I thought my world was going to end, and because we kept communicating (mostly from my side) for almost 6 months after the breakup I delayed my healing process by 6 months. So it took me YEARS to get over the pain and years to put on the weight that I lost after that.
I felt the need to be in a relationship after my breakup of course, but I never felt alone because of my friends and family. But now honestly, I am so comfortable being by myself. I'm also happy that I'm not the type of person to develop romantic feelings or even crushes fast, which I feel has allowed me to heal and work on myself, because I realized that I wasn't mature enough for a real relationship.
Love how Carli is really focusing on being a great mom, daughter, sister and friend.
