Who was your driver of the day? For me it might be Alonso!

Alonso did a great job( I think Ocon did as well despite "only" finishing 7th). For sure it could be driver of the day material. Would have been one thing if they got 7th and 8th by getting a safety car pit stop or because of a crazy race with DNF:s of quicker cars but they got it on merit. Going forward I don't expect Alpine to all of a sudden be in the top of the midfield since it could just have been track/condition specific and whatnot but it seems like a step in the right direction for sure. Rooting for Alpine the most so was a fun race to watch for me.

Hard not to go with Hamilton. Overtaking Verstappen, Bottas and even Perez on track. Really was in a class of his own.

I see how you feel about Mazepin, but how do you feel about Kimi? He’s definitely taking a seat from a young driver.

To me, Kimi still has some wonderful performances. In a top car, he would still podium a lot. That said, I don’t think he drives past this season to be honest.

As long as Mercedes has Hamilton, I don't think they will change Bottas, they don't want two Alphas on one team, two team members fighting can cause a loss

Lewis definitely doesn’t want that, but at some point they will risk losing Russell to another team if they don’t promote him.

    Sorry for spamming your channel.
But upon closer inspection of the laptimes en.mclarenf-1.com/index.php?page=chart&gp=1059&graf=3&dr1=Lewis%20Hamilton&dr2=Max%20Verstappen
It's abundantly clear, there wasn't much between mercedes and redbull (max) on the hards. The commentators say as much, but the lap times tell a different story. Valtteri never once broke into max's DRS, even before his exhaust sensor issue and the kafuffle with yuki going off track.
This is further supported when both teams went for fastest lap on new softs; max did a 1'19'849 compared to Valtteri's 1'19;865. A difference of 16 milliseconds. Nothing. The two cars are incredibly close, what made the difference on the day was the drivers. Considering Hamilton managed to overtake both, speaks to his excellence.

Question; why is there a crusade against Valtteri? Bottas' job isn't to challenge hamilton but to help the team win the constructors. So far, since getting the seat, he's done just that with ruthless efficiency. The same cannot be said for numerous ferrari/redbull number two's. In mercedes, we have quite possibly the most dominant force in the sports history and yet fans are critical of their number two driver because he cannot beat their number one? Didn't watch f1 during the schumacher era, but were there calls for Ruben's replacement? What positives would George bring to the team other than potentially disrupting the driver dynamic? Bottas qualified on pole, came home on the podium. Checo was overtaken off the line, fought in the midfield and was left out for 52 laps like a true wingman, in hopes of "hobbling" Hamilton. Or lucking into a SC. To mercedes credit, they've rarely sacrificed bottas' race for the sole benefit of Hamilton. In fact, they pitted him first, against their own protocol in hopes of preventing a potential max undercut. Normally, the leading driver pits first.

Let's get something straight, Lando did nothing wrong. He did run wide out of 4 but didn't complete the overtake off track. The move was completed at the hairpin (turn 5). Not to mention it was the first lap following the restart, often chaotic - the stewards rarely enforce track limits during that phase of the race. I get the max stans are feeling hard done by the regs, so are quick to highlight perceived inconsistencies, but this nonsense has to end. Max ran wide in quali - as lando did in imola; and it cost him pole. Many drivers have been caught out by track limits violations in the past. And many will do so in the future.

Alpine had one of those races where they perform pretty well. Last year they were quite inconsistent like that. Alonso definitely the driver of the day. Also bottas being beaten by Hamilton is getting really old. I think if lewis stays, bottas goes.

Agreed. I think if Lewis is there next year Bottas may not be. Although I’m sure Lewis likes Bottas in that second seat haha

Unfortunately, it had nothing to do with me haha. You don’t get to monetize for advertisements until you reach 1000 subs in a 365 day period. I would need to get to 1k by late June for that to happen and the algorithm has not been kind to me (my last few videos barely hit 100) haha
