I'm sure you've figured out by now, the main quest has multiple branching paths, and it can be hard to figure out what you're supposed to be doing. I don't think you need to go back to Direnni Tower. I think either you nuked the main quest by timing out on something, or you just need to finish Lysandus' Tomb. If you decide to go back to the tomb, look for unusual items that will teleport you to other sections of the dungeon.

Oh god, I hope I didn't nuke the main quest... It's honestly the only reason that I keep playing it at the moment. I'll be sure to head back to Lysandus' Tomb and see if I can find anything of interest that will teleport me. Hopefully, I didn't mess things up.
