I’ve had the Bravia 8 55” for 2 weeks now. The upscaling for older content really makes skin tones have a reddish hue. It’s easily corrected in the settings. Otherwise, I’m loving it.
Thanks B. My one complaint with this TV is it just does not get bright enough for my tastes but if you are watching in a dark room there should be no issues. Sony's video processing is still tops in class and in the past what I have liked with Sony TV's is the accurate picture out of the box and you don't have to do much tweaking if any in settings. Tweaking settings is more to taste.
Unless you watching TV in a very bright room out of the 2024 TV'S it's this Sony Bravia 8 ALL day long I have the Sony XR-65A80L and in isolation I certainly don't feel it's not bright enough, if you can stretch your budget I would get the Bravia 8 oled all day long I had the C3 and the sony xr-65a80l is much better in my eyes more cinematic better more accurate colours better upscaling and better motion handling and IMHO a better OS in Google tv if you can afford it and watching it in an Average room not super bright room do yourself a big favour and buy the sony Bravia 8 you won't regret it

The more reviews I see on this TV the more I think that the A95L is the only Sony OLED to even consider, or go LG or Samsung QDOLED. The B8 seems less competitive in value, and the omission of smooth gradation and other settings puts the nail in the coffin. I own a B9 and so glad I went with it and that Sony didn’t reduce the settings on it.
how come this is upgrade of A90J master series? I have the 83A90J for 2yrs plus and love it. this 8 series model may be the Sony's this year best OLED but i doubt this can be a direct update to A90J.

Too bad it's coming out now that the Bravia 8 is missing some of the XR processors features (smoothing gradation) that you'll find in the other prior OLED models and other Sony models like the Bravia 7.
B9 he never mentioned this TV is missing two or three features opposed to the other Sony TVs there's no 20 point white balance correction only 10 point and there is no reality creation And no smooth gradation.

B, quick question. I have metal studs 24 in apart. I am mounting 65 in s90c with eco gear max motion mount. Looking at 2 options1. Mount 3/4 in plywood on metal studs and attach tv mount to that2. Use elephant drywall mounts directly into Sheetrock and attach tv mount to them. Which is better?
I've mounted directly to 2 metal studs in that manner. You have to make your own judgement on the dynamics but I never added plywood to metal studs before. Some contractors would under the drywall, but that's a whole thing and typically unnecessary

How do these new Bravia TVs sound as a center for the quad? I have a95j with the hta9 and it sounds terrible as a center. Hoping they are integrating that better so I can upgrade sooner.
Apparently the HTA9 doesn't EQ the centre correctly whereas the new quad does, resulting in a better outcome. If you're definitely going to upgrade to the quad it may be worth doing that first if you're not doing it all at once. From what I've read the B9 integrates well with the quads but I've not really looked into the B8 because it has too many downsides and I'm not touching the A95L, Sony still haven't fixed all its bugs last I checked. If you get the quad first you may even decide you're happy with its phantom centre anyway.
C4 is a better comparison. I’d get the C4 it’s around 1500 right now and will probably be cheaper for the holidays. If u have the $ the G4 is 2800 but could drop under 2500 for the holidays. I’ve seen it in person, it looks amazing 😂
Why would video quality be degraded? Sony uses LG OLED panels and Sony adds their best processing which is the reason they are expensive. I have a Sony OLED and LG OLED they both look honestly fantastic but Sony has more processing which makes it look fantastic but does as some input lag but just switch to gaming mode if that is important
Every review I've watched on this TV always shows it to be under-Whelming under bright. You need a bright TV for sports and HDR pop. It's pretty bad when SDR content looks dark as well!!!!!

The B9 should be the B8. The B9 may be the best mini led but it's still only mini led. The B8 should be the B9 but with MLA and smooth gradation. Obviously Sony still considers the A95L its premium, despite still not having fixed its problems last I checked. Not really sure what's going on with Sony right now. Their range seems all backwards and weirdly priced. To me it says qdoled has bad profit margins so they're trying to push mini led as premium for its profit margins and giving a hand wave to oled with this. But this TV is obviously better than the B9 in a light controlled room 🤦. But then if you have the budget why wouldn't you get a G4 instead or if not a S90D 🤷
I've had this for 3 weeks now and I do NOT recommend. Although there are settings for changing the style of caption, they do not work. You only get large white print on a black background and there is no option to move captions anywhere on the screen. The default position and large size block what you may want to see at the bottom such as football scores. Sony technical support and elevated technical support have been unable to help and they told me this model is so new we really don't understand it and don't have all the details on it.
Gradient smoothing is awful on this TV, which makes watching low-quality content FHD or even games a real pain.There is a lot of noise in the picture, in games I have to lower the sharpness or realism creation to a total minimum to get rid of the artifacts... I'm afraid the TV doesn't have a hardware-supported 4k upscaler - XR Clear is not what SONY advertises, it has nothing to do with image processing.. Really poor 2024 model, even if it's mid-range, it's been emasculated from many necessary features. The lack of hardware processing is its biggest drawback.. it burns out the brightest scenes and darkens the dark ones. My worst purchase..

I've bought the FRAME tv. Yet to be delivered. I'm concerned about one thing At what height I should mount it. I've 13 x 9.5 ft wall (LxH) The ideal size is at least 36 inches above from the floor. But pls help me with this. I have bought a 65inch variant Cuz that low height could make it look like just a TV!! All videos I have watched, not a single video features that level of low height. All people have mounted it on a little higher side. I have a 10ft+ distance between the TV hall and sitting.
That's Sony. TV is a piece of trash and junk. All that television would do is turn my regular blu ray discs into garbage upscale, like the lg 4k tvs They don't match the native display compared to my hd Samsung Smart TV.

I just bought the Lg G4 65 inch which is cheaper than g3 65 inch in my country due to on going festival 🎇🪔 but this Bravia 8 is as expensive as Lg G4 or S95D 77 inch which does not make any sense.

All that television would do is turn my regular blu ray discs into garbage upscale, like the lg 4k tvs They don't match the native display compared to my hd Samsung Smart TV.
The legs on this tv look very cheap and flimsy in my opinion. I like Lgs more premium stand if you’re not mounting your tv like me .
Sony tv stands are 100x more premium than cheap lg

I just bought the Lg G4 65 inch which is cheaper than g3 65 inch in my country due to on going festival 🎇🪔 but this Bravia 8 is as expensive as Lg G4 or S95D 77 inch which does not make any sense.
