I've been a TV cameraman for nearly 40 years, so please take this as a compliment. There was some seriously good storytelling and camerawork in your climbing video and also great use of a drone. Well done Ben !
Thanks Steve, I put a lot of effort into the storytelling and it goes largely unnoticed on this platform, it means a lot to me to have a compliment like that from a professional. Cheers.
@@KombiLife I think it goes unnoticed because people are just used to seeing you produce TV quality posts and take it for granted a bit. Which is good in a way as we're used to watching TV programmes most the time and it's a smooth transition to watching quality like this, hence we just take it for granted your filming and editing it are TV like.

Yah definitely like this. Sometimes the most interesting places are in our own back yards. I'll tell you this much, Jersey is interesting to us. I don't know why I think of cows but maybe a visit to a local organic/sustainable dairy and interviewing the farmer would be interesting. Jersey's known for cows right?
Welcome to climbing, Ben. I'm 63 years old, and have been climbing since age 19. I'm a weekend warrior, and as my friends have retired from the sport, my climbing adventures have become few and far between. I'll be setting off in my van in a few months to explore North America, and will have my gear and shoes with me.
I’m a Mum of two teen boys. My youngest got me into your videos during your Alaska trip. I enjoyed them so much I back watched every episode from the start - blood, sweat, tears, laughs, ups & downs. I’ve never commented before but your resilience and attitude to life is inspiring. You make the most of every situation and always manage to turn problems into positives. If my boys have half your gumption I’d be a proud Mom! Well done on your new challenge!
So stoked you have gotten into Climbing. I love climbing, I haven't done it for so long, since I was in Antarctica in 2016. This video has inspired me to get back into it again. Your videos have inspired me for so many years. Your little island looks like a real climbers dream. One Life, One Search, Shane

So cool. After your previous adventures often included and were sometimes based on surfing, now you have the whole new angle to see some places. Good luck, dude.
@3:00....that voice in your head? Yeah, always listen to it....which is not the same as abiding by it! Went thru the same 40+ years ago, my first foray into mountain climbing, rappelling, etc. I stuck w/ it until 12 years ago (I'm 65), and FEAR was an often companion. But, thru experience, and the confidence gained, I got to a point where I was a seasonal climbing guide on Rainier. Remembering what it was like as a newbie way back then helped me relate to/instruct all those that had no experience. My first job was always safety, group safety and personal, and after that....providing climbers a great experience.
Thank you Ben, you really give me so much motivation and inspiration to pursue my goals and be a better Version of myself, I’m not sure how my life would’ve turned out if I hadn’t made the decision to click on one of your videos years ago. Thanks again, hoping on having the pleasure of meeting you face to face one day :)

Ben!!!!!! So psyched for you and your brother! Rock Climbing/the vertical realm are such an amazing way to experience the world and find partnership with amazing humans. I also learned to climb with my brother when we were teenagers in an area with limited access to sport climbing. It is, to this day, one of the best decisions and experiences I have had in my life. I can't wait to see the climbers diary portion of your travels in the future! Good luck with your first trad lead! I'll pass on a saying from the dude who was one of my trad climbing mentors. Each time I'd head off to lead a pitch he would stop me and say... "Hey... DFND." DFND == Don't F*** up and Die. It was his way of encouraging me to try my hardest. Anyways, get after it!!!
Awesome video Ben which I've just discovered (thanks JRCCC newsletter)!! Stoked if there's a club trip to Ailefroide in July because it's only a couple of hours from me. Keep psyched over winter, although it looks like you didn't have a problem with that last year!
