- The excellent argentinian conductor and pianist, Daniel Barenboim, celebrated his 50 years on stages with a great concert in his Buenos Aires (Teatro Colón).
He played this sublime page of the Schubert´s production for piano:
"Musical Moment No.3 in F minor Op.34 D.958".
Along with the Impromptus, they are among the most frequently played of all Schubert's piano music, and have been recorded many times. No. 3 in F minor has been arranged by Leopold Godowsky and others.
It has been said that Schubert was deeply influenced in writing these pieces by the Impromptus, Op. 7, of Jan Václav Voříšek (1822).
They were published by Leidersorf in Vienna in 1828, under the title "Six Momens musicals". The correct French words are now usually used moments (instead of momens), and musicaux (instead of musicals). The sixth number was published in 1824 in a Christmas album under the title Les plaintes d'un troubadour. - เพลง

He is very good at bringing out the free expression that composers like Schubert deeply believed in. I love his interpretation of this composition.

Las melodías del divino Franz están empapadas tanto de misterio como encanto delicioso,es un goce constante escuchar sus Impromptus,Momentos Musicales,Sonatas,Valses todas exquisitas placer para el oído y mente humana!
Pero nos sorprende una cosa muy llamativa...pensad....cómo es posible que este geniazo Vienés que nos dejó en tan corta vida(31) incluso algo menos que Mozart(35) un TESORO incalculable y valiosisimo de todas las obras en todos los géneros y formas sinfónicas corales religiosas Misas Cámara piano Óperas Rosamunda por ej Ballets Sinfonías...no compusiera algún concierto para piano y Orquesta como todos los grandes genios de la gran Música?Chopin(2) Brahms(2) Beethoven(5) Bach(1clavecín y 2 y 3 clavecines y orquesta)Schumann(1)Mendelshonn(2),Liszt(2)Mozart(27)Saint Saens(4)...?que se sepa no compuso ninguno si alguien sabe de alguno que lo ponga aquí y es que el género Concierto para piano y Orquesta es digamos el género Rey junto cómo no con la Sinfonía o sea la gran Sonata Orquestal que de hecho este último es el género Supremo por excelencia musical

Horowitz, Richter .... and the other "greats" all give slightly different interpretations n this with different levels of tempo and rubato. I find it interesting to compare the pianos that they each use - different sounds. This is another one to add to my collection of comparisons.
You should listen Boschi's version ; not very known but very interesting too.

Absolutely not. This one is very personnal, and is one of the best. Barenboïm is one of Schubert's greatest interpreters. Listen to his fabulous Impromptus and Sonata D960 on DG!
You can not compare Horowitz, their interpretations are totally different!
