I am a Xi'an native studying in Italy now. What touched me the most about this video wasn't that you visited my hometown, but the way you educate your children. The method of having the children research and present in front of the camera is excellent. I am almost 30 years old, and my family is urging me to get married. Seeing your approach to education has greatly inspired me for raising children in the future. Accompanying and educating children should be like spring rain, nourishing the earth silently and gently. You are doing such a great job. Last but not least, I am very grateful that at a time when Western media generally portray China with extremely biased reports, your video presents a true picture of China to the public.
Thank you for reminding Western viewers that their bias medias have been bombarding lies about China and they should "come see for yourselves" the truth. Don't be fooled. Cheers!
In fact, these warriors were painted with colours, but as soon as they were exposed in the air, the colours faded, and what you see now is massive team of greyish warriors, which is a pity. Therefore the Chinese government didn't want to "over-dig" into these pits, not until we can find a way to preserve the original colours. We still have a long way to go.
Long before Christ, China's civilisation had begun. Though wars were waged for over thousand years, there were no 'ambitions' to go to other foreign states - instead contented with accepting foreign tributes and offerings. The same could not, and cannot be said, about the West China had also suffered national humiliation and loss of human lives, such as during the opium war and Japanese invasion, signed some 'unequal treaties', etc. What didn't befall China make it ever united, resilient and never want to let history repeats itself. Hence the 'CONTINUED' RiSE of China by never once resting on its laurels. Perhaps, the 'Road & Belt' Initial was also conceived and launched with some China's painful past 'at the back of the mind' to make sure the World prosper together. After all, what good does it have for a country alone to thrive, but laden with issues other countries are facing - as 'No Country Is A Planet! It is a reality the West have to accept and embrace - for the betterment of The World by emulating the spirits of China.
Christ is an Asian, Middle Eastern Asian, to be precise. In short, an Asian is the Europeans' God. But, Christ is the child of the accusation of Jews' God having an affair with another man's wife, a virgin wife, to be precise. After all, both man and wife are God's children. So, Christians accuse the Jewish God of taking His daughter's virginity.
Exactly. China has no discontinuity in its culture, civilization, history -- they were writing in various media one can read and trace, unlike other great civilizations that you can't really find any written documents or supporting artifacts
China had the luxury of rising and falling a few times in history The last time started in the 1430s As they were the world economic and technological leader The emperor at the time started the slow process of closing off the country This led to 400 years of decline and then the eventual semi colonization of China for 100 years more. Even up to the 1980s, about 88% of the population lived in abject poverty Now they are back... and we ain't seen nothing yet
To clarify some facts: before the Terracotta Warriors, people would use living people for burial. Li Si, the prime minister of Qin Shi Huang, thought this was too cruel and suggested to him that terracotta warriors be used instead of living people. These terracotta warriors were made by individual artisans throughout the country, and these artisans were not killed.

Near Xi'an there is Qinling and a bit further there is Mountain Hua which is quite astonishing to go. Food part, Xi'an is famous for flour-based dishes, many types of noodles, Roujiamo (kind like pull pork) burger, Lamb bread soup, Liangpi. Also lots of muslim food. I was born in Xi'an and lived there for 14 years before my family moved to Canada. I haven't been back to China for over 17 years and now looking at Xi'an I can't believe how much it has changed. So good, hope you guys have an absolute blast in Xi'an, and make sure you guys try the signature Xi'an cuisine, the lamb soaked bread soup (PaoMo), the diced pork burger (RouJiaMo) and finally, the cold rice skin noodle (LiangPi). One day many many years from now, people will travel back in time through all the recorded archives and they will see this incredible Hutchinson family immersed totally inside the Xian perimeters and they will say …wow !!! Thank you family for just being there and above all just being yourselves…. Tagging along as always from Europe.
Your children receive the best education! What could be more effective in teaching them than firsthand experience? This is all thanks to your open-mindedness and meticulous planning! Thank you for everything you do for the children.
I adore the way you travel with your 3 pretty daughters and let them research and learn. What a great way to raise your children! Can tell they are happy and confident. What a lovely family!!! BTW, thank you for showing the true side of China. It is much appreciated!
I traveled in China in late 2003, when they first reopened the country after the SARS epidemic. At that time, Xian had a tiny fraction of the tourists you encountered. You could walk right up to everything without any crowds. Otherwise, it looked the same as it does today. I'm glad I got all my crazy travels done when I was younger, the world wasn't so overrun with tourists and pollution, and it was still dirt cheap.
Your three babies are so cute! I also have a daughter, so I pay special attention to them! They will have a broad international vision in the future, and maybe their future life and work may not necessarily be connected to China! I wish you all a pleasant journey!

I watched a video of a foreign tourist visiting the Terracotta Warriors a few days ago. They got a small machine with headphone at the entrance, which can play the explanation based on your location. Didn't you get it?
Warriors were painted blue and purple which was a color that was very difficult to extracted from minerals in ancient times. Only ancient civilizations like Egypt and China could do that
Good idea to use the visit to the Terra Cotta Warriors as an opportunity for the girls to learn some Chinese history! By the way, "q" in Chinese is pronounced similarly to "ch" (instead of "k") in English, so "Qin" should sound like "chin" instead of "quin" in English.
Did you visit the terracotta museum where you can get a earphone which narrates the history of the artefacts in your chosen language as you go along the exhibits? And it knows which exhibit you're at by GPS tracking or in China, it's the Beidou, and it will narrate the history of the exhibit you're at. That's so cool. Your girls would love it. 😀

合理的推測應該是一部分妃子與奴僕可能會陪葬,但如果把大量士兵也陪葬就太蠢了,直接減少了繼位者的兵力。
