I am a Xi'an native studying in Italy now. What touched me the most about this video wasn't that you visited my hometown, but the way you educate your children. The method of having the children research and present in front of the camera is excellent. I am almost 30 years old, and my family is urging me to get married. Seeing your approach to education has greatly inspired me for raising children in the future. Accompanying and educating children should be like spring rain, nourishing the earth silently and gently. You are doing such a great job. Last but not least, I am very grateful that at a time when Western media generally portray China with extremely biased reports, your video presents a true picture of China to the public.

In fact, these warriors were painted with colours, but as soon as they were exposed in the air, the colours faded, and what you see now is massive team of greyish warriors, which is a pity. Therefore the Chinese government didn't want to "over-dig" into these pits, not until we can find a way to preserve the original colours. We still have a long way to go.

Long before Christ, China's civilisation had begun. Though wars were waged for over thousand years, there were no 'ambitions' to go to other foreign states - instead contented with accepting foreign tributes and offerings. The same could not, and cannot be said, about the West
China had also suffered national humiliation and loss of human lives, such as during the opium war and Japanese invasion, signed some 'unequal treaties', etc.
What didn't befall China make it ever united, resilient and never want to let history repeats itself. Hence the 'CONTINUED' RiSE of China by never once resting on its laurels. Perhaps, the 'Road & Belt' Initial was also conceived and launched with some China's painful past 'at the back of the mind' to make sure the World prosper together. After all, what good does it have for a country alone to thrive, but laden with issues other countries are facing - as 'No Country Is A Planet!
It is a reality the West have to accept and embrace - for the betterment of The World by emulating the spirits of China.

      额,其实并不是如此。普天之下,莫非王土,率土之滨,莫非王臣。只要中原王朝够强大,一定会灭掉周边的竞争者,或使其臣服,除非在经济上不划算又太远的地方。

Christ is an Asian, Middle Eastern Asian, to be precise. In short, an Asian is the Europeans' God. But, Christ is the child of the accusation of Jews' God having an affair with another man's wife, a virgin wife, to be precise. After all, both man and wife are God's children. So, Christians accuse the Jewish God of taking His daughter's virginity.

China had the luxury of rising and falling a few times in history
The last time started in the 1430s
As they were the world economic and technological leader
The emperor at the time started the slow process of closing off the country
This led to 400 years of decline and then the eventual semi colonization of China for 100 years more.
Even up to the 1980s, about 88% of the population lived in abject poverty
Now they are back... and we ain't seen nothing yet

To clarify some facts: before the Terracotta Warriors, people would use living people for burial. Li Si, the prime minister of Qin Shi Huang, thought this was too cruel and suggested to him that terracotta warriors be used instead of living people. These terracotta warriors were made by individual artisans throughout the country, and these artisans were not killed.

Shaanxi History Museum is also a master piece especially for those who knows Chinese history.
Xi'an city wall is best preserved in CHina. The center is Bell Tower and near it is a muslim street with street food.
Near Goose padoga is a rather new area Datang Furong garden with ancient-looking newly built architachture.
Near Xi'an there is Qinling and a bit further there is Mountain Hua which is quite astonishing to go.
Food part, Xi'an is famous for flour-based dishes, many types of noodles, Roujiamo (kind like pull pork) burger, Lamb bread soup, Liangpi. Also lots of muslim food.
I think these are the main topics when people visit Xi'an.

So good, hope you guys have an absolute blast in Xi'an, and make sure you guys try the signature Xi'an cuisine, the lamb soaked bread soup (PaoMo), the diced pork burger (RouJiaMo) and finally, the cold rice skin noodle (LiangPi). There's saying in Xi'an that if you hadn't tried these food while in Xi'an, you never went to Xi'an after all. Cheers!

I traveled in China in late 2003, when they first reopened the country after the SARS epidemic. At that time, Xian had a tiny fraction of the tourists you encountered. You could walk right up to everything without any crowds. Otherwise, it looked the same as it does today. I'm glad I got all my crazy travels done when I was younger, the world wasn't so overrun with tourists and pollution, and it was still dirt cheap.

Those warriors were not killed. Otherwise, they would have been sacrificed directly, and there would have been no need to make terracotta warriors.

Warriors were not killed. Those who were left inside the tomb were builders to keep the tomb location safe from grave robbers

Human sacrifice was rejected by Qin Shi huang and soon abolished completely in the following dynasty. And even in the time period when human sacrifice was most popular, which is Shang dynasty (began 3600 years ago), among the kings and royal klans, lower rankings sacrificed 1-2 humans with each funeral and higher rankings or kings may did dozens. Saying Emperor Qin Shi huang sacrificed 8000 people is wrong information and sounds ridiculously off to a Chinese person.

I like the word “world schooling”! Like the old Chinese saying, “读万卷书,行万里路”…… traveling thousands (well in Chinese we like to use the word Wan which is ten thousand) miles is like reading thousands books.
