Political bias? Well, anything that sounds unfavourable about China is regarded bias in the mind of a brain washed Chinese including those living in the west .
In 2001, I led a group of students and teachers to visit the terracotta warriors in Xi'an, and interestingly, the person who discovered this was there signing autographs. He seemed like an ordinary person. Your video is wonderful-easily the best I have seen! It's great to see you having fun there.😊Thank you!
One information is missing: these terra-cotta warriors were buried more than 15Km away from the actual tomb of the 1st emperor of China. His tomb is at the bottom of a hill. Chinese archeologists have not touched the tomb yet.
18:03 I think you asked a very meaningful question. 70 years ago China's urban rate is < 10%, so over 90% of Chinese are farmers/peasants living rural life; today it's 65% urbanization, this transition happens within 3 generations. A typical family today have grandparents who live a whole life in rural, the core couple who grew up in rural then moved into cities after higher education, and grandkids who are born and raised completely in cities. A village like Yuan's, which is close to a big city like Xi'An, represents a nostalgia of a family's rural legacy, a life style which younger generation would not experience. And for visitors from other parts of China, this rural landscape & culture is different from their home ones becuase of the unique terrain and weather in northwest.

Samantha: At 22 min 58 sec of the video when you let the “train kite” fly…that moment brought me such an intense emotional and spiritual awakening that I actually cried. It was beautiful…beautiful…living art that left me in awe…thank you. If I were an ancient Chinese kite flyer living in Xi’an, I can easily feel how that moment would give me such an uplifting religious experience…a connection to God and the universe. As a fourth year university student studying international politics I also think that the image of an American and her Chinese acquaintances launching a kite “together” was quite a symbolic moment for peace and cooperation that should exist between the two countries. As Chinese, I am embarrassed to admit that I have never been to Xi'an, but I really love this video that shows the historic beauty of this city. Thank you for making this fantastic video.
Thank you for showing the real China to your viewers... Yes, China is big with many minority people but all given equal rights, especially the basic right to live peacefully and harmoniuosly. I wish you the best in your many travels, but most of all may you learn some more and become a cultural ambassador of Mainland China to the West.
Many han chinese might argue that minorities are given more rights 😅. Not complaining but in some cases they do have more rights than regular Hans, at least over 10 years ago. Now it might be a bit more equal in the real sense.

One of photographer that working for the Terra Cotta Warriors museum told a story in a TV show. When he was taking photo for one Terra Cotta Warriors, he suddenly found a fingerprint at the warrior's lip, and that fingerprint is left by the worker that made that Terra Cotta Warriors thousand years ago. He felt very touched, it was a connection between modern people and people thousands of years ago.

The wild thing is that this terra cotta warriors are a small part of the things the yellow Emperor left before he died. From the same books where these warriors were described, there are also passages about the Emperor's mausoleum or his resting tomb where there could be booby traps and a river of mercury and a constellation of stars on the roof that's supposed to represent the night sky
All your videos are very interreting to inform and show us what are the reality pictures where you are right walk. Can you do video about Xinjiang's province and Tibet's province too? Thanks a lot.
Semantha, can you make an episode of Japanese Pilgrim trail Kumano? It is a sister pilgrim route of Spain's Camino. It's gaining more visibility. But I would like to know more of it before I go...
Is that terracota warrior in kungfu pose in 6:34? If so, it means Kungfu is much older considering these sculptures are already more than 2000 years old.
That university teacher did not tell you how 50,000 Muslims in Xi 'an survived. In 1862, Muslims in northwest China and Han China were brutally massacred each other, with 2.8 million Han killed and 1.85 million Muslims killed, nearly 20 million people died from other causes, 70% of the population in the two northwest provinces died, and 50,000 Muslims in Xi 'an did not participate in the riots. So they survived.
