As much as you 'want' to judge it on its quality 'only', and not considering the price too much, it's hard to do. To me, it's very good... not amazing, and no way is it worth 1k. It's an autoclave cooked, all stainless steel distilled Anejo... think about that

I think the hardest part isn't about the cost as much as opening something at that cost, which is Far More Valuable.
I thought the 6000 frosted bottle Limited Edition XA was phenomenal.

Limited XAs are all going to that price range these days. Ie g4 6yr old wooden box. I agree that the rating shouldn't be affected by the price in this situation, esp when you compare it to a bottle like g4 6yr which definitely deserves a 90+.
When you say you could buy 2 or 3 Tears of Llrona, a tear came to my eye. Jesus.

Guess so, but not exceptional for sure.
I was a vodka person , but tequila and mezcal both now share the number one spot for me . they are just great and have so much flavor and complex a lot of mezcal sky rocketed in price because the past years cigar smokers like myself are starting to drink it because it pairs well
