“BUCKLE UP” .. What I love about this performance besides the fact that Queen blew everybody away, is that Freddie expressed pure joy on that stage!! And Queen’s set list is brilliant 👉👉Bohemian Rhapsody (why not, huge hit), Radio Ga Ga (crowd participation song), Hammer To Fall (currently getting radio play), Crazy Little Thing Called Love (Freddie’s tribute to Elvis, crowd sees Freddie play guitar), We Will Rock You & We Are The Champions (the one-two knock-out punch). POW!!! 💥💥🥊

Hands down the Greatest rock artists to come out of the genre EVER. They have influence countless artists over the years from every genre , Garth Brooks, Kiss, Extreme, and even Micheal Jackson and MC Hammer were good freind's of the Band. Michael and Freddie actually collaborated on a few songs one is on you tube called "There Must Be More To Life Than This". Even Lady GaGa got her name from their song Radio GaGa. They were fearless , and ingenious enough to mix Gospel Rock ,Soul , even Opera into their sound. Sadly the great artists of the past are all going away.
Aretha Franklin , Freddie, Michael Jackson, Eddie Van Halen , and so many others are leaving us. Thankfully we have their Genius in music to remind us all that there was Incredible talent , and trailblazing musical integrity long before the years of Autotune and Over quantizing made overnight wonders, out of mediocre talent on social media.Great reaction. Thanks for introducing this to a new Generation .

Great reaction, I’m so glad you saw the full Live Aid set. The song, crazy Little thing called love is actually a Queen song. Freddie loved Elvis, so he wrote it as an homage to him.

Queen’s set at this concert is widely regarded as the best live show in history by many people. Their talent was absolutely unrivaled. Unfortunately you watched the "bad" copy that's out on TH-cam that cuts out at the end. If you want to see the entire thing, there are other enhanced / upscaled versions of it.

I literally never get bored of watching this with people. I've memorized the whole set, including the beginning where they're announcing them, because I've watched it so much, doesn't matter it's freaking Queen.

So upset bc you got the “ bad” video😱 We Queen fans are so unhappy that there is this video of Live Aid that cuts out Freddie’s most powerful last note I hope you will watch the ‘ good’ one …… it’s worth it believe me. Thank you for your wonderful reaction🥰

Fun seeing you really into the concert set! Bad video copy with cut off ending...but still, a wild ride! Queen rehearsed, nothing left to chance - likely one of a few or the only band at their level to do so. Delivery was fresh, surprising many who thought they were old news. Wrong - and with that, rock history!

Live Aid was a duel-venue concert held simultaneously at Wembley Stadium in London (audience of 72,000) and JFK Stadium in Philadelphia (audience of 100,000) that was connected and broadcast over 13 satellites worldwide to an audience of over 1.9 Billion. The purpose of the concert was to raise money to aid Ethiopia which was suffering from 2-year drought. There were 75+ acts, each allotted a 20-minute slot to perform.
The UK line-up included Status Quo,, David Bowie, Elton John, Wham!, Sting, U2, The Who, Paul McCartney, and Bob Geldof with his band The Boomtown Rats. The US bill included Madonna, Eric Clapton, Duran Duran, Mick Jagger, Paul Simon, Led Zeppelin, and Tom Petty. Phil Collins played in both London and then caught the Concord Supersonic Jet and flew to perform again in Philly.
Paul Gambaccini, who was part of the BBC broadcasting team at Live Aid, recalled the awe among other superstar musicians watching backstage. “Everybody realized that Queen was stealing the show,” said Gambaccini. These were the very words Elton John uttered when he rushed into Mercury’s trailer after the set. “You bastards, you stole the show,” joked the charismatic star.
“Queen smoked ’em. They just took everybody. They walked away being the greatest band you’d ever seen in your life, and it was unbelievable,” said Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters. “And that’s what made the band so great; that’s why they should be recognized as one of the greatest rock bands of all time because they could connect with an audience.”
FYI - Freddie wrote "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" while taking a bath in his hotel in Berlin. It took him about 10 minutes to write it. He was inspired and yelled for someone to bring him a guitar which he used to write the song. (Roger said that he never understood how Freddie got the guitar in the tub.)
    Queen's playlist was:
    1. Bohemian Rhapsody (just the ballad and guitar portion)
    2. Radio Ga Ga (the song that inspired Lady Ga Ga's name)
    3. Freddie's Call and Response
    4. Hammer to Fall 5. Crazy Little Thing Called Love (It took Freddie about 10 minutes to write this Elvis tribute song while he was taking a bath in Berlin).
    6. We Will Rock You (just the first verse and guitar solo)
    7. We Are The Champions
There is one more song from that concert. It was performed by Freddie and Brian alone as part of the finale of the show:
    8. Is This The World We Created - here is the link to watch it - th-cam.com/video/riwDo7_GxjM/w-d-xo.html

The man that was singing was Freddie Mercury. He passed away in 91, now the last two songs you heard they play it at games. The song radio GaGa is how lady GaGa got her name, because she was a Queen fan. Freddie wrote that song Crazy Little Thing’s call love. Not Elvis.

Sorry, just found you; so, I’m late to the Comment Section! I’m a 66 y/o Glamma. You seem to enjoy the background of things. And, I’m a Trivia sponge, so here goes: They had just completed a Tour a month b4. So, they went & rented a Stadium to practice the performance. He ended up with a Throat Infection & the Doctor highly recommended he not do it bc he might lose his musical ability. He said no! Can you tell he had a severe throat infection? Most people think he was drinking booze from the cups bc on the piano. He’s drinking Honey & Tea. His command of the Audience was more than coincidence it was miraculous. Considering there were so many people there the sound was getting absorbed through them. So the people @ the back we’re following his hand gestures bc the actual sound hadn’t even reached them b4 the next sound was coming @ them. Go back & watch what his hands are doing & what the Audience is doing. NEXT: Radio Gaga is celebrating Radio bc M-TV is just getting started. LADY GAGA was a huge Freddie Fam growing up, so That was where she came up with HER STAGE NAME! You have to listen to the words to really understand the meaning. Most of us didn’t have a clue what a Band looked like unless we saw them in Person!
NEXT-MICROPHONE. At sometime along the way a Microphone Stand broke, so that was the only spilt second solution they could come up with. He realized the freedom he had to move, dance, & engage the Audience.
NEXT MICHAEL JACKSON & ELVIS CONNECTION on Song THING CALLED LOVE: It was written as his homage to Elvis-Freddie was a big fan. But, he just wasn’t sure about the song bc he didn’t want to taint Elvis. SO, he played it for Michael J. (Yes, they were friends!). And Michael told him he HAD TO, he said “Freddie, you have to”! (Can’t you just see that!?).
NEXT FREDDIE’s VOICE. HE HAD 4 extra teeth so that’s the reason he had such an overbite. He had the ability to naturally flow from Octave to Octave. It was a natural progression, for him.
SCIENTIFICALLY: Test were done on his Voice. He was able to use his Throat muscles on either side of his vocal cords. Which is normally seen in some Opera Singers. His Vocal Range was from Low Bass F, to High Soprano F! They were extremely surprised to find out that he could go from about 92Hz to 784Hz, effortlessly! See ACTUAL REPORT BELOW:
nyone who has listened to a Queen track knows that Freddie has a unique ability that still has not been truly replicated since. His ability to blend highs, lows and mid range notes cohesively and with immense precision. This skill was due to the fact that Freddie was able to create faster vibrato and harmonics than any other singer at the time. Not only this, he was able to shift through registers effortlessly. Although he naturally held a baritone voice, he primarily sang as a tenor and of course had no problem then shifting into soprano parts. One study on Freddie’s vocal range even confirmed that he was able to vary from about 92.2 Hz to 784 Hz, meaning he was reliably able to hit notes from the booming low of F#2 to the high pitch G5 - that covers a full three octaves!
LAST FUN FACT: His Lead Guitarist is playing on a Guitar he & his Father made. When he first starting to learn they were too poor to afford a high end guitar. So, they just made one! The included some “extras” that would normally have to be separate instruments to get all those features (think Concerts when you see guitarist changing Guitars depending on the Song….that’s why he didn’t)!
I’m sorry to take up your Valuable Time, and I thank you. You need anymore Trivia I’m your G’Ma go to. My Brain is full, especially with music, & believe it or not Sports!

Freddie “mooned” audiences as an “FU” to an early manager that ripped off Queen. He wrote a song, “Death on Two Legs” that includes the line, “you can kiss my ass goodbye”. (“Flick of the Wrist” was a precursor to predatory management.)

So annoying when you get to the end and realise it's been chopped. Grrr. Great Reaction. It was a song that he wrote in tribute to Elvis, 100% Queen song tho
