@@ianoliver3879 yes, that too. the roller is good, as are the manufactured boxes. the drawers are great, but the fall of the unfortunate chest of drawers is already something... I even wonder why he angered the venerable master so much
The demonstration of how the drawers worked was key to explaining all the weird cuts and shapes. Really explained it well. Pictures are worth a thousands words, but a video is worth thousands of pictures.
I spent a couple of days trying to work out how the tilt would work, coming up with all sorts of wierd ideas that didn't work. I spat coffee everywhere when that demo section of the video played - so wonderfully simple yet efficient.
Dragging that chest along the floor, i thought, "he should put some wheels on that", Then I paused the video to take a closer look and changed my mind. A "sledgehammer would be ideal !" I did not expect what happened next. The whole thing fell apart. What a great piece of theatre, how you arranged for the whole thing to fall apart on the tiny tap of a hammer beats me. Great video. Once again you are living up to your channel name, you are truly Epic. I love it.
What I love about your channel so far is that it's perfect for those like me who learn by watching. Not filled with mindless distraction and conversation. Your works are amazing, and THANK YOU for sharing. INSPIRED Oh not to mention for those of us that aren't TH-camrs it's great to watch work that I can actually afford to make and not hours of just watching the rich ppl build ideas with thousands of dollars worth of tools I can't afford. So end up trying to figure out what I can make with the items I can buy. Those 3,000.00 dollar slabs of wood will never be available to me.
0:32 - That's like hitting the juke box in the sweet spot and it played your tune instantly! Ha ha ha! You are trying not to smile, Jason, but we see it! This box is so elegant in its simplicity and so well conceived, it is easy to miss the mastery behind it. Such a beautifully simple solution to the tilting drawer with no special hardware. I am marveling at the elegance of the solution. I love it! It looks fabulous, and so very useful. French cleat in the back, very nice. The felt matches the handle colors. The handles are just right, not too dark, very pleasing color scheme. The way you demonstrated the drawer mechanism for tilting was genius.
One of the most satisfying feelings in the world is when you take a slab of dumpster-wood and cut/plane it, revealing the fresh wood underneath. Love your builds! Can't help pick up a few old-army tricks whenever I see one of your videos.
Yes look there, now you've made something so beautiful out of an old IKEA box. The way you did it with the drawers sliding and folding down is a great idea. I also really like the fact that you painted it red. Red is my favorite color. Many thanks for showing it.
My late domestic partner would’ve loved these videos, too. He was a retired cabinet maker, and he would’ve been interested in the hardware you’ve made.
Thanks fo video. Such a chest will be excellent for my wife's carving knives. The explanatory segment at 12'45" prompts me to make those pieces and use them as templates for the drawer sides and the carcass glides.
Love the function of the drawers, such a simple design and so effective, especially when mounted as you have it. No need for tip toes to see inside that upper drawer. Love it. Thanks again for sharing.
I did see the short on the easiest way to disassemble furniture. You had me hooked, thought I was going to learn something 😊 wish I had a Merlin hammer to do magical disassembles.
Always one of my favorite makers. I make most of my projects from recycled materials so it hits home. People keep complaining about the price of timber but not us, lol
@@andrewkennedy9704 cheers! I decided to invest in a thickness planer this year as currently the price of timber in the UK is ridiculously expensive and our work scraps a lot of pallets so I’m just breaking them down and using that wood instead.
besides the funny beginning (which was unexpected and hillarious) just another piece of art from you. The quietness with which you build these pieces is not only inspiring but also relaxing. This channel has raised the quality of how woodworking videos on TH-cam should look like by several magnitudes
Thousands upon thousands of these pine wood cupboards and bookshelves were sold in the 80ties and 90ties. Today they are filling the dumps, because fashion has changed. It's great to see at least a few being used for something good. And as always, your wood working skills are beyond and above anyone else...
I saw a small smile of satiifaction when you tapped the underside of the defunked dresser and then by a pure miricle fell to many peices. Well done and i like pallets as well. A creative reuse which i might respectively replicate. Thanks again for a wonderful project. Cheers from Idaho , USA.
Good Sir, you have a delightful sense of humor. Best 30 second intro. Can anyone watch it and resist the compulsion to quip, "They sure don't make 'em like they used to..."?
I have often wondered how to do that as sometimes things get lost at the back of a drawer. I also like the dividers to keep things in their respective places. I'm so very glad I found this!
Some people would put dovetails in this whole drawer just to show up, but at the end of the day those nails did the same job. People often forget that being a pro is not just knowing the techniques, but when to use them. Very enjoyable video, as always.
When you took that last uppercut with the hammer, it was like Wile E. Coyote's everlasting nightmare, he builds all these contraptions and they all fall apart with just a nudge, LOL!
I have 3 people on TH-cam that I wait for new releases. You sir are still my number 1 x I'm literally running out of words to describe your beautiful amazing skilled work. Love it x
i love that you use manual tools as much as possible. not, however, enjoying how you are inspiring me to start woodworking (watching your videos while taking a break in between building my computer desk and nipples deep in sawdust)
J’admire la patience dont vous faites preuve dans vos réalisations. Vous redonnez une deuxième vie à de vieux matériaux avec beaucoup de goût. Je rêverais d’avoir votre savoir-faire, 👏👏
I like the tilt-down feature, it makes drawers placed at this height useful. A nice way to keep the lathe accessories clean, organized, and easy to reach. Savage choice of color! although Grizzly green would have tied it together nicely.
No, on the contrary. A true artist must always break out of conventional habits. You are in a world of color and you deliberately barricade yourself within the confines of green - why? Try red, blue, yellow, metallic! Break out. That pop of red in his wood toned workshop is a beautiful touch. Perfect.
Sir,i am a fans of you from Taiwan, everytime looking your woodworking making me thinking about even recycle wood can build a useful work. Thanks your sharing.
This will be excellent for carving knives. I can suggest a possible improvement. When I made heayduty drawers for a big tool chest, I cut the slides as french cleats. This method keeps drawers from cocking and jamming, and actually keeps the walls of the carcass from bowing too. Oak makes a durable slide and when waxed the drawers slide easily.
this is exactly how i woodwork awesome. I find an old dresser someone else sees trash but i see oak! or a dinner table even better alot of cherry and maple from them, people throw them out like crazy and easier to pick up and get around then dressers lol
Finally new video , one of the best channels to see repurpose of old furniture and scrap wood and without annoying blahbla, just pure entertainment ! Certainly like and good luck!

Everything in perfect order, yes, but with super luxurious finishes. New master class, on how to reuse wood that no one wants anymore. Congratulations and thank you. Greetings.
Great build. I want to put pull-out/tilt down drawers in the bottom of my kitchen cabinets for spices, knives, and other culinary implements. If room allows, I may dedicate one drawer to basic hand tools to cut down on the trips to the basement every time I need a screwdriver, pliers, etc.
Very nice modified draw runners, and a great Finnished tool cabinet, the only problem you will have if you keep building tool storage is finding more tools to fill them. Nice work God bless
My first thought when I saw how wobbly the chest of drawers were, looks like my wife assembled that, then when it disintegrated after you tapped it with a hammer, definitely made by my wife. Yet another fantastic build and repurpose of existing materials. Absolutely love your work.
