As a Star Wars guy that’s happy with lightsabers I’m glad the Harry Potter community got these ! It’s about time there was a really dope wand for the fans.

But they do need some work, the flimsiness needs fixing in version 2.0, kinda like how different brand lightsabers feel better than others. We need some higher quality versions!

Imo it would be insane if Avalanche used this wand as an ability to use when engaging in fights at hogwarts legacy. So Avalanche if u read this, 5% cut for the idea is ok.

I was underwhelmed the moment I opened the box. The material feels cheap, lightweight and has gaps in the moulding. Compared to a couple of wands and other merchandise we have, this is really disappointing for an official HP product and is by far the most expensive (£149 in the UK). Mine is going back.

I got the loyal wand bc I'm a Hufflepuff myself and I hate to say that it is not worth the price. It feels very cheaply made. Its lighter than the normal wands you can get for a cheaper price and they feel and look better tbh. The whole selling point is they light up thats it I just can't recommend these wands as much as I want to like them its just not worth it
Wanna start out by saying this was a great vid! You did an awesome job showing what everything did so this isn't against you. Im just so disappointed in what we got with this, especially for the price. My wife and I were going to get two and Im SO glad we didn't. We thought they would have different motions for different spells to actually control your smart home devices. Like Lumos to make the end of the wand light up, lumos maxima to turn on all your lights, nox to turn them off. Maybe even have a section in the app that you can pair different devices to different spells so it would activate them when using that spell. Im just so sad and wish this was an actual useful everyday item, whether then just the toy we actually got

I totally agree with you, the lack of utility makes this just an expensive toy/ collectors item. I did hear they are looking to add more functions and spells later on possibly next year or alongside the new designs that will eventually come out so fingers crossed we have something to look forward to!

Was intrigued by this, thought it would be a cool way to turn on smart lights/devices around the home. But that doesn't seem to be what this is. Would have bought it if I could program different gestures to turn on/off lights and devices or change the lights a specific colour.
Essentially I was expecting a replacement for the Google home device that uses programmable gestures instead of vocal commands.
Oh well, glad to know it's super gimmicky and not worth the price. I'd play around with it once, and then probably never use it again.
So yes, this one/prop can definitely be used in an interesting way

@@Aguamenti Well each to there own opinions on the wand but it’s not released in Scotland yet, but Iv just ordered Philips Hue light strips for my TV especially for this wand, crazy price though at £160 Lol.
Also because you have your wand already can you play online multiplayer or do you have to have to people in the same room ?
Yes they’re super pricey but I personally think it makes it that much better. I saw your other comment on my spell list video and I hope i answered how it feels in hand on the video if not let me know!
I didn’t see any online aspect to the wand so I’m assuming in person only duels and it has a point system, points given to whoever casts the spell faster!

This one can also be used for very fun smart home automations you’re one can act like a light switch for certain smart lights, such as if you do the Lumos spell you can light up certain areas, depending on where you’re at or if you use a Lumos maximus, you can turn on almost every light in your house to turn off all the lights use the nox spell to turn your smart lights off

Here’s a good way of using the pacificus totalis spell. If you’re in the world of Hogwarts, if you want to become assassinated quickly, you see, pacificus, totalis spell, the freezer enemy in place before becoming assassinated that would quickly save your life.

I liked it! But honestly, guys.. I preffer a handcrafted real wooden wand, like those you would put in your library as a very fine piece of decoration. With a real Harry Potter box, you know? Like Ollivander's boxes. I'm pretty sure I'll get one of those one day!

Thanks for actually doing a demo with it. So many videos without it. I almost bought one thinking it would control smart home devices. It does not. It just play scenes on the tv with sound on speakers and lights based on the motion. Nothing else. What a miss from the product functionality perspective.

I think it really depends on if you’re collecting it or if you’re wanting to use it and play around with it a bunch, as a collectors item I would pass on the 3 remaining designs, but as a toy/device I would recommend it for Harry Potter fans it’s really fun and a cool experience when you have everything set up and can immerse yourself and the people surrounding you.

Here are some smart lights and a smart TV system you may need if you want to have a compatible with your wand to increase you play ability you need Philips hue bulbs of your kind light strings or lightbulbs it doesn’t matter and a TV that supports Sony Atmos along with the Philips hue sync box

I don’t have a second wand to show off the dueling aspect unfortunately but as far as I know that’s all the functionality, you can’t really use it individually as a remote.
If you only had the wand, box and the app could you still do all the spells? But obviously not see the scenes

I have a lifx smart light strip now. And there are times whenever I do the spell it doesn't communicate with the lights. And I thought it was something to do with the wand box being dead. Is that the case?

I got to say…I’m very disappointed with the materials used. It feels like cheap plastic. If it at least felt like a quality build, I would’ve felt it was worth the $150 even though all it does is show little video clips.

Hey! I have mine on my Apple TV so this may differ, I installed the app onto the tv and started it up, you then open the app on your phone or tablet and make sure it’s on the same wifi network. Once that’s all set you just start waving the wand around and spells will start reacting on the TV. Might take a couple tries to get something to pop up on the tv as it searches for your device on the wifi network.

No unfortunately you can’t.
I think it's a really cool collectible for any harry potter fan. It's most impressive when you open the box and it plays the harry potter chime song. Regardless of what people are complaining about it being cheaply made. Those people are just cheapskates that only complain when buying something they can't afford or wouldn't complain if they were getting a discount for it. At the end of the day, you are not getting a real wand. All in all it is an awesome collectible.

I wanna get what I pay for spending like 150s on something you can't even use unless you have SPECIFIC brand smart devices as well as the fact that I'm afraid to even touch my Heroic without it breaking, I can literally wiggle the plastic with a light touch of my finger, it's meant to be used not sat on a shelf it's a smart device. You would think they'd they'd prepare it to be made for ware make the outsides protect the insides.
My friend JUST opened her loyal and it came RATTLING with broken pieces inside. And all the helpdesk is saying is that they'll refund her. No replacement options. They won't even give her a straight answer just that they'll look at her case. All that broken shit aside it's literally made with 2 different colors of plastic. Promising quality and something awesome then 💩. Even the warranty if you've read it, covers nearly nothing. Like I'm 100% GONNA buy a fire box for my bedroom since it apparently doesn't go with my Samsung TV in the living room but that's bullshit. Why make your customers jump through hoops. They also constantly advertised them based on house colors, but only in a few seconds of a short trailer we were allowed to see that honorable was blue, but there was never any confirmation on WHAT we were getting just buying em with hope 🤷♀️.

Again I got it as a collectible, I didn't plan on jumping off the beds and doing backflips with it and casting unrealistic spells. You take a look around and $150 is almost the standard and today's economy because it's almost nothing. The cost it would take to actually put real materials such as wood metal Silver Etc would then Skyrocket the price and then you'll be complaining about how too expensive it is because of that. Maybe at some point in the future to come out with a better quality build but I'm not complaining. And again I'm blown away just by opening the box and it lighting up and making that Harry Potter chime song. Some people you just can't please

Cuz first of all just going straight for an insult? the word is called FLIMSY, in fear of it bending simply by waving it, and if you don't wanna throw it obviously it needs to be actually gripped. Otherwise how will people duel? And my guy I've seen fidget spinners of better quality. So explain having to different color plastics on someone's wand and you call that a collectable? Who'd wanna present that on a shelf it's embarrassing. This wasn't supposed to be heated, but you can't just judge everyone's lifestyle and wand for that matter because apparently everyone is getting different qualities, other people are even suspecting that the first tested batch came out great then whatever facility is producing them is probably slacking now right under there noses because cutting corners saved money kind of like what nintendo is doing to pokemon. And we also figured the same thing that they'll probably release better quality wands later but not everyone IS the same it was advertised as intended for use and I know alot of people around the world who were excited for an immersive experience and are sad they can't even use their's, for example that same friend of mine. It literally arrived broken on the inside, I mean do you buy trash? Is that the norm for you? I truly don't think (I mean by now they likely do) had any knowledge on the lack of quality there product is being recieved as. However, receiving who knows how many complaints, its probably gonna be a lot of time and money, to get to everything fixed so it's possibly not gonna be for a while. And I most certainly would not. By all means make the wand 300$ if that means it's better quality. I was willing to spend the money I am on the flip3 no problem, I'm getting my money's worth I was willing to spend almost 5,000 on what most people would see is just a damn BIRD, worth the money, no problem. You get what you pay for and this was hardly worth 150 my friend. My brand new viola cost just over that much and it came with a hard shell case new rosin new bow. The term WORTH means alot more than a price tag. You wanna judge? You sound like someone who doesn't pay for any of these things themselves OR just spend so much money without caring that it has no value to you anymore and you just get scammed left and right not even realizing the dignity being stripped away from you because your ego is so large that your blind to it. Idc what the price of something is whether it's a 2.00 coffee or xxxK car. I'm gonna get what was said Im getting. The 2.00 coffee better be crap the xxxK car better not be a lemon.
How to link hue lights , I get can't generate hue key
Ok here’s my initial take on my MCW. I have the Honourable version. In order to see the spells on TV you HAVE to have Amazon Fire Cube or Apple TV. In order to sync lights to it you have to use Phillips Hue or LIFX lights. If you don’t have the Phillips Hue Bridge THEY DON’T WORK. A waste of time. You’ll be greeted by a slew of errors. I have not tried LIFX lights yet. I have not tried it with Apple TV yet. In regards to the build, they are not built on the same level as Wands from Universal or the Harry Potter NY store. Don’t expect that kind of weight or quality. I hope this helps.

Update. I was able to connect it via Apple TV. That was a game changer. Ups the immersion factor considerably. As you can see in this video you will see an animation or an actual film clip. I agree that it’s a good idea to leave the box open for additional lighting effects. The lightness of the wand is not as big of an issue because if you are doing spell movements over time your arm will get tired even at this weight. One bummer is that every once in awhile the spell clip will only show up on the phone and not on the screen. I couldn’t get my Patronus animation to show up at all (Irish Wolfhound). Maybe this will be rectified in a software update. Once I incorporate smart lights I’ll see how that is. But the TV is to me a must. Overall, I think that if you think of this as a toy and not a prop it’s easier to understand it. The sensitivity is super high but hey if it was too easy no fun or challenge. I can see why Harry has problems with Lumos Maxima !
PRO TIP !!! If you don’t have the Phillips Hue bridge system DON’T Get it just for this. Use the LIFX lights instead. Works without Bridge-like system. Just make sure to connect with your WI-FI password and NOT the LIFX account password. Works like a charm and is very cool. If you have the TV device it’s not needed but it is cool when you have it set up with lights. Save yourself some frustration and roll with LIFX. Hope this helps !!!

The build quality is dogshit. Super light and cheap feeling, as well as having noticeable seems and gaps. I feel it will chip or crack if I drop it. Not worth the price as is.
