    thanks for responding to my comments, and I agree, options are better, excuse me while I soak my hands in ice water after pummeling my 3 bags, a stand up bag, similar to yours, a spring loaded stand up timing bag, and a water filled uppercut bag. You re right, it s great thanks

    Better comparison is Century WaveMaker XXL or new Torrent free standing bags. Fill with 300lbs of sand or water. Bags have proper file and don't get soft. Vinyl is durable, not cheap. Add heavy duty grip tape on bottom then place on exercise mat so it does not slide. $399, but I found a used like new one for $35 on OfferUp.
    Instruction: I use the Beachbody "Core de Force - MMA" video set.

    I ve been boxing, mostly for fitness, for 40 years, using a similar, but low tech workout that you displayed. While I certainly encourage fitness for everyone, I am compelled to say that many of us in the boxing community have been doing this for many years , again, without the gizmos. A serious fighter or athlete in general will be shortchanged by what I saw. And you can save money just going to boxing catalogues and getting equipment at lower cost. when I actually did fight, as an amateur, I had a trainer, in a boxing gym, and sparred at least once a week. Now, I use youtube Nate Bower's Bowerbox videos, and set up bags outside. Of course, for the novice, this device can help and encourage fitness if you find it motivating. Otherwise, it will become a neglected piece of junk gathering dust.

    • @Learnwithtravis
      @Learnwithtravis  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      When I get comments like this, I usually say something about how it is great to have options. You are right that people could go to an actual gym for that experience, they could use TH-cam and their own equipment, they could use FightCamp, and their are lots of other options. I just think it is neat that we have so many options today to help each person best match up the option for them. And I agree that plenty of people would not need the bells and whistles of FightCamp and could enjoy these other options. For those that like connected fitness experience and the motivation\content that comes with it, FightCamp could be great. Options!

    The most obvious solution to using your phone, is for Fight Camp to create a TV app, so you can run it from your smart TV, Roku, Fire stick etc.

    • @Learnwithtravis
      @Learnwithtravis  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That would be nice for a content only experience, but you would not be able to get data from the sensors. I want them to create a console (think roku like device) that outputs to the TV but also can get sensor data plus have the power to maybe add some new features.

I'm scared to go to the gym, so I brought a Keiser (m3i) that I plan to use w/the Peloton digital app. I don't have a lot of space left in my apt but I want another piece of equipment. Hey Angel! First, nice bike! The FightCamp is probably a little under 6' tall. I am 6'3" and I probably had 5 to 7 inches on it or so. As far as room required to use it, I would say you would probably want at least 6 feet on either side as you go from side to side. You need enough room to have your distance setup so you can kick and punch from the right location. Hope that helps!

      First, I filled it with water. If I used sand, I think it would be a lot better. Second, I have it on gym rubber floor which helps it stay in place. With that said, when I am really hitting it, it does move. Nothing crazy and I find as long as I circle the bag I can keep it where I want it. If I keep hitting from one side, I am eventually going to move it where I don't want to be. But I don't consider it a problem. It only moves a little so circling around when I can see I have moved it a bit is no big deal. I think I saw a video where they put a ring around the base (FightCamp Video I believe) and that would secure it even more. Add sand to that I think it would work very well. Hope that helps!

    Don’t they encourage technique? Like, “make sure you keep your chin tucked and your hands near your chin”?
    I used to train and teach Karate. I later joined kickboxing and BJJ.
    Technique is extremely important, especially if you want to feel more confident in a street fight.
    Good job on the video, anyway. I’ll consider buying this.

      They do but someone is probably trained might feel like it is more beginner level. While this is a great product, I would say it is marketed to beginners that want a new fun way to get exercise\cardio. Not trained fighters looks to enhance fighting skills. Not that is cannot be used in that way, but I would not want you to be disappointed coming from a background with training.

    • @Learnwithtravis
      @Learnwithtravis  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I will be honest and say I have not looked into the "mirror" options too much at this point. But, from what I gather with the mirror you are going to have more options or variety, but no bag to hit. So, I think the question is do you like to mix it up and have different options or do you want to get the full boxing experience but less variety. Not having used the mirror my opinion could completely change after using it, but I don't care for the you never really do anything. You have a video and people tell you want to do but you don't ride a real bike, you don't have a resistance system, and you don't have a punching bag. I would rather train\exercise against real equipment. With FightCamp, you are not shadow boxing, you are hitting and kicking a real bag which I think would be much more enjoyable and also a much better workout. so, that is my off the top of my head take, but if variety is what keeps you coming back and working on your health, the mirror could be the better option!

      I sold it... but not because of the product. I broke my foot and did not feel comfortable jumping around the bag or kicking it. I actually really liked FightCamp, but there were some parts that take away from the experience. I didn't like that the solution has to pair to an iPhone or iPad and then be sent to a TV through your own solution. Personally, I had problems with this from time to time and once you get the gloves on, this can be annoying. I am hoping their next gen product has a device that manages the trackers, outputs to TV, and uses voice commands. It would make the experience so much smoother. That being said, as far as rounding off the Stryde\Tonal trifecta, it is really nice. It is a different type of workout and engages your body in a way neither of the other two do and is a whole different style of cardio. I really enjoyed going between those three options. Overkill... maybe, but fun, awesome, and solutions that really complement each other for a full body workout... yup.
