There is one common thread to all of David Gilmour’s solos…. They are all AWESOME!
golden thread i'd say
He is the GOAT. Only one who matches him is Jeff Beck who is Gilmours favorite
And all unique and diferent with deep feel
No other guitarist has this ability to make a solo sing to you like Gilmour….
I like many guitarists but none has touched my feelings me like david does.
Definitely the best guitarist in my book. The way he makes the guitar sing is just beautiful.
Yes yes yes. He touches my soul. I always say Carlos Santana makes the guitar sing. Gilmour makes me feel and cry
EXACTLY!!!
The real King! Not just of the UK but the whole world! Long live, God bless and keep strumming!
definitely one of the greatest guitarists in the world. thank you, David Gilmour
i have always felt floyd had a lovely elegance about their music and david gilmour is why 🫶
Pretty amazing actually. David Gilmour has such a great touch and sound, and the amount of creative quality work he has done is downright incredible!
David Gilmour's solos have the ability to touch my soul, give me goosebumps right down my spine, and puts my heart on fire. And gives me peacefulness . And helps me forget the pain I am in from Rheumatoid arthritis. He is the Legend, the best in my opinion. ❤😊 Thank you Mr.Gilmour.
OMG. That final counterpoint with Rick…. I tried not to cry but I had to. Thank you.
I particularly love Dave's first solo for "Shine On" ...so incredibly mournful that it still puts a lump in my throat to this day.
Also, really love his "Celestial Voices" section from "A Saucerful of Secrets" and his solos on "Echoes."
My favorite guitarist ever! Rock on David Gilmour.
comfortably numb in new orleans is perfect
Good to see Fat Old Sun in the list. I love it because it’s not a “normal” Gilmour solo.
Not only is it "not normal" for him, it's his best solo of them all. I prefer the studio solo than the live version, but the live is incredible as well.
@Marty Kehoe the live FOS solo from I think September 30, 1971 has to tie anyone's favorite DG solo for 1st place IMO. Actually all four of the boys were in the groove that night with FOS, OOTD and ECHOES. Very tight. They were really ON that night. My favorite performance. David really soars!
@@paulhester8086 I personally love how he did it on 17OCT71 at San Diego.
Pink Floyd even copyrighted this bootleg recording, so now you can get it through legit channels.
I like watching him play he always looks like he's having a good time
He makes it look effortless and nobody can touch him
The old echoes at Pompeii is my favorite of the echoes. Would love to have been there kicked back for a few days.
Strongly agree!!! 😎
The Floyd at Pompeii as a whole is such an amazing peice of music that not much can touch it
I learned all of time on guitar, it's my favourite out of the lot, he's got so much melody, unique
I just finally learned it also, a dream of mine since the first "time" I ever heard it. I can remember sitting with the seat back in my 260Z with a kick ass stereo with a buddy on a moonlit night and saying just lay back close your eyes and listen to this song and solo. I remember him saying, wow dude, incredible song. I can just close my eyes and drift away listening to this song and solo. Such an incredible artist, truly a gift to be able to listen to his body of work.
The question is : how can you touch people like this, each and every time, for over five decades ?
It's a divine gift you have to be born with it. You can't teach this. Jeff Beck had the same gift
Well don't ask Roger...he will just tell you David does nothing more than play "a jolly 'ol guitar".
one of these days? a great day for freedom? time? any colour you like? lost for words? there are so many........great mix though but you should release an updated version!
The slide part from shine on you crazy diamond is my favorite part, i love how it sounds.
It is so different from some of the other versions - a younger, more aggressive Gilmour on that one. Shine On is my fave song of all time, not just Floyd fave - I never get tired of it! So glad to get yet another version. Loved the quietness of Marooned here too! Mustafa always brings the best David to us!
Such a sad song considering it's about syd and how he looked that day in the studio, with David and Roger not even recognizing him. So sad. But what an incredible song
I've seen Pink Floyd 4 times , including The Wall, and yourAbout Face Tour. Thank You for the memories!
Bravo and a great job !!
I have been a PF fan since 1975 and have seen them 7 times. My tutor at Cambridge was at school with David and Syd.....
Your selection is tremendous.....great job Mustafa!
10:14 check out also the boston version, i get goosebumps from that interplay between david and rick at the end
Broooooooooh! That Time solo though... (said with max vocal fry)
Greatest guitarist of all time!! Best vocals, best composer, musical director, and the reason we all love Pink Floyd! Excellent video too man!!!
I've long believed that Dave's voice is criminally underrated.
He's right there alongside the likes of Roger Daltrey, Robert Plant, and Paul Rodgers.
Agreed but none of them can even touch him nor can anyone else on the planet when it comes to guitar.
@@zoocru67 The most soulful guitarist who has ever lived.
David....what else ...???? Forever !!!!
Thank you, i needed to hear Mr Gilmour's work, it just always helps me.❤❤❤
Mustafa, thanks for sharing…. perfect selection of my most favorite guitar hero !
Thank you for doing this tribute video ❤❤❤❤
A great day for freedom live in Gdansk shipyard
Thank you Mustafa for putting together this great video, really well done. Enjoying watching ✌️🤓🎶🎵🔔🌞😎🎈🎤🎸🎹🌎🩷🥁🌍 and listening 👂
I'll probably take a hit for this, but a few of my top favorite David Gilmour solos aren't in the Pink Floyd catalogue. Check out his solo on the song "Breakthrough" with Richard Wright at the Royal Hall concert. Additionally, the solo on the song "No Way" is up there. However, my favorite solo comes from a song that I always loved but only recently found out David Gilmour played the guitar solo. Check out "Is Your Love Strong Enough?" by Bryan Ferry. The song was featured in the movie "Legend." It is short, to the point and really captures the mood.

The blue from on an island is outstanding
2 BIG sleepers you should listen to. Time - (live in Gdańsk) and Money (live in Venice). Both belong on the list in my opinion!
The Best of the Best .Me David Gilmour we waiting for you in North and South America.
I hope "Let's get metaphysical" is on this list!
OMG this is awesome, thanks for sharing with us!!
another brick in the wall amazing
The best.
Been waiting for this all my life, thank you🍺🍺
After the 80's David Gilmour is changed in a good pop guitarist...The best is in the 70's
? Stuff like keep talking on the division bell (talk box solo) that wasnt pop at all the time, he was always extraordinary and speaks to your soul on a diffrent level
How about a David Gilmour, Mark Knopfler & Lindsey Buckingham guitar session. What a trio. I grew up on all 3 and have several albums by these outstanding artist w/ Pink Floyd and Dire Straits being my favorite bands with Fleetwood Mac really up there as well.
good job!
GENIUS!
THE BEST!👍🏻
Pure magic caught on tape!
Thinking at 4:44 😇😎

Maestro.
Absolutely brilliant electric guitarist, he definitely learned his trade! Pink Floyd best music past!
Hey man, great vid! Can't wait to listen all the way through today.
Just a note, Pigs Live was in 1977, not '97. Cheers!
lol, i'm bad with keyboard.
@@mustyguitar haha no worries mate! Had a great time with the video, thanks for putting it together.
Comfortably numb in New Orleans is a win
bravooooooo
The solo Virtuosas.
Good list. I’d have included not now John and keep talking.
Yeah...just yeah...
so few notes but so much feeling .....amazing man !!!!
Great video as always. Is there any way you could do a cover of the solos from Wearing the Inside Out? I know it’s a lot of work but if you could do tabs for it like with the funky part of echoes that would be freakin awesome! Keep it up man!
I have a video on wearing the inside out last solo cover, years back: th-cam.com/video/-XilMO2TyI4/w-d-xo.html

What about "Murder" from Live 1984?!
my only excuse is, he plays it with snowy and it's got harmonic parts
@@mustyguitar It wasn't Snowy. It was Mick Ralphs from Bad Company. I mean this performance th-cam.com/video/pz1cvIAc4X4/w-d-xo.html
@@user-qq7xo5rd8x wow I didn't know that Mick was the one who played. I absolutely love this solo: th-cam.com/video/JaynaZsDojI/w-d-xo.html
@@mustyguitar Oh, sorry, I'm just a new subscriber and I haven't seen this video.
BTW, I've been listening to PF since I was 9 years old, now I'm 37 and your channel is a treasure trove for me.👍
PS: I dream to see that someday someone will play the insane solo from Careful With That Axe, Eugene from Pompeii.)

As hindu I do not understand this music. The guitarist seems to be versatile and original but why is it so loud ? Is it very emotional ? I would like to understand cause this is good music.
Very emotional. It’s like he’s speaking with the guitar. And it’s very loud because he’s soloing. It’s the centerpiece.
Being Hindu has nothing to do with understanding music. Music is a universal language, you should be able to feel the emotion and expression on these solos. If you can’t, I suggest listening more often and try to switch off from reality. Eventually it will all make sense.
Regarding the volume, the electric guitar by nature, to be able to achieve this type of sound needs to be at very high volumes and together with the type of guitar pickups, pedals and speakers, as support for the soul of the artist, produces this unique sound. Is is possible to distort the guitar signal and produces the same effect at low volumes but Mr. Gilmour usually performs in large and full arenas.
Than you so much for answers. I understand more now. Hari Om
A bunch of bullies
ffs no need for the big yellow arrow .... i know who my god is !!!!!!!
