Usually students will just do what they think makes sense for their major like volunteering at a hospital for pre-med. well, every student is doing this very activity. All the college resumes look like a carbon copy. Think out of the box.
@@snailygeek2692 make some kind of impact through passion projects. reach out to professors to get internships. make sure you have a good spike in your application. make sure you have some sort of unique job/hobby that helped you grow that you can write about in your college personal statement. if you need more clarification I am happy to provide it.
For cold emailing make sure to email ALOT of professors and I am talking like 30-50 professors. Since not each professor responds or even reads the email bc of how many emails they get a day. I had to email 30 professors before getting 1 or 2 responses. In ur email, introduce yourself (grade level, interests,etc), your idea or which research project of theirs you want to work on, and show interest in their research. Also attach your resume and make the email concise and informative at the same time since this might be the first and last time they open that email. great video as always preaching p!

1. if ur looking for safety schools u kinda need to do ur own research and see which schools u like because these schools arent just backup plans u still need to make sure you will be happy attending the school 2. some things u can research on are quantum gravity, dark matter and dark energy, cosmological models ect 3. do the sat as early as u can and u only need the sat (u can do the act too but its not at all necessary)

Hey Pratik, I have just finished my freshman year of high school and feel like a failure. I don’t have any leadership positions in clubs and barely did any extracurriculars, other than competing in a neuroscience competition that I only got 5th place in. I found my passion in neuroscience and have a topic I want to research, but did not make any connections during the year to set up any sort of internship and during the summer. I want to be a neurologist so I emailed dozens of doctors and called many people to try and set up shadowing but failed. I am only volunteering at a nursing home and a hospital as activities for this summer. To build a future college app I want to focus on research and a nonprofit I have in mind. The only thing I have going for me is my 4.0 gpa or 97.44 average, but I go to a vocational school (Monmouth Academy of Allied Health and Science in Neptune,NJ) that barely offers any extracurriculars. What tips would you give me to build I good college app. How should I start things like research and is it too late to start this? How should I go about building extracurriculars such as volunteering, research, shadowing, competitions, and nonprofits to match a premed application? Should I take courses outside of school that are challenging even though my school already offers a specialized, rigorous course system? How would you recommend getting shadowing experience in the future? If you could help me out that would be greatly appreciated, as I really need some guidance as late. Let's say I am a rising senior that wants to major in a foreign language or a social science. The advice you gives seems to be broad but obviously doesn't really apply to language, where there aren't really competitions or Olympiads, and you can't really research (except the IPA ig but that's a whole other level). Do you think just working on my nonprofit and language would suffice for a summer if I can get seals in 4 languages? Or is more expected (probably)

Well, my grades are pretty decent id say, however, there are "zero" extracurriculars on my list except grades. Also, my school is kinda bad, ig, no special extracurriculars are offered. (btw i wanna major in CS). The options I have are quite limited. u can publish research in online journals u dont need a publishing service near you. i recommend for you to watch youtube videos of people listing their extracurriculars that got them in ivy leagues and see if that inspires you. some things u could start are a quick business so something like baking or reselling, any online clubs, see if ur good at writing or art or any musics instruments, see if ur good at any sports, mentoring/tutoring students in cs, develop your own game/website/app, participate in online competitions, see if you can start a coding club at your school, look for internships ect i hope this helps and i sincerely hope you succeed at getting in your dream school

for ur passion project u can start a podcast focused on brain health and neurology where u can interview neurologists and share educational facts. _ and for a nonprofit u can start an organization researching Alzheimers disease and dementia (you can share info about in online, do things like carwashes or bake sales to raise money, do workshops, and create a team (to show leadership) of student volunteers that can help with raising money for donations, to take care of patients and spread info about the disease)

The only thing I have going for me is my 4.0 gpa or 97.44 average, but I go to a vocational school (Monmouth Academy of Allied Health and Science in Neptune,NJ) that barely offers any extracurriculars. What tips would you give me to build I good college app. How should I start things like research and is it too late to start this? How should I go about building extracurriculars such as volunteering, research, shadowing, competitions, and nonprofits to match a premed application? Should I take courses outside of school that are challenging even though my school already offers a specialized, rigorous course system? How would you recommend getting shadowing experience in the future? If you could help me out that would be greatly appreciated, as I really need some guidance as late. At this rate it feels like I will never get into a good college and that the following years will just float into the next until it is time write my college apps and I have no extracurriculars or awards to list off.

Let's say I am a rising senior that wants to major in a foreign language or a social science. The advice you gives seems to be broad but obviously doesn't really apply to language, where there aren't really competitions or Olympiads, and you can't really research (except the IPA ig but that's a whole other level). Do you think just working on my nonprofit and language would suffice for a summer if I can get seals in 4 languages? Or is more expected (probably)

Hey pratik, i hope you read this. I think im too late now, maybe, i need your help. Next summers, ill have to send admissions so there is less time. I'll give the SAT in december or something. Well, my grades are pretty decent id say, however, there are "zero" extracurriculars on my list except grades. I watched your videos on research which caught my interest too, but, i belong to a 3rd world country. There are no competitions, or research programs held here. Also, my school is kinda bad, ig, no special extracurriculars are offered. (btw i wanna major in CS).
The options I have are quite limited. There is a communtiy service club at my school which im gonna try to become leader of next year. I need help in finding exrtracurriculars bro. u can publish research in online journals u dont need a publishing service near you. i recommend for you to watch youtube videos of people listing their extracurriculars that got them
in ivy leagues and see if that inspires you.
some things u could start are a quick business so something like baking or reselling, any online clubs, see if ur good at writing or art or any musics instruments, see if ur good at any sports, mentoring/tutoring students in cs, develop your own game/website/app, participate in online competitions, see if you can start a coding club at your school, look for internships ect

I got the test score, gpa, volunteering hours, 1 leadership position, and membership in some clubs. I really feel that my club positions are weak though. do research, science olympiads, create a bio related podcast/blog/book/website, seek out internships and improve ur club positions or maybe start your own club ect

for ur passion project u can start a podcast focused on brain health and neurology where u can interview neurologists and share educational facts.

and for a nonprofit u can start an organization researching Alzheimers disease and dementia (you can share info about in online, do things like carwashes or bake sales to raise money, do workshops, and create a team (to show leadership) of student volunteers that can help with raising money for donations, to take care of patients and spread info about the disease)

So I'm heading into my junior year with a 3.97 uw gpa and a 5.84/6 weighted gpa. I feel quite confident about the SAT but I feel that I am lacking in extracurriculars. I have done some volunteer work for the church and helped out at an educational program last summer. This summer and next school year I am also working at a bio laboratory on some research. maybe cus ur doing pre med does that mean that ur doing chem for ur like one of ur subjects rn???
