No problem. It was cool getting to see it in person. It’s an adventure to get there for sure. It’s kind of rare for it to be exposed in the summer. I was taking a gamble even going to look for it. Glad I did. Wish we knew what the map meant or pertained too.
Thank you for sharing! They are so amazing and well preserved considering water has ran over them for who knows how long. I agree also that it is a bird.
Thanks. I was surprised it hasn’t been buried in mud. It’s kinda protected from a big rock dike that sticks out into the river. I was really glad I found it. That would have been a long journey for nothing.
Yeah I meant to comment on this before, I thought I did but y ah Dude that is amazing, I bet there’s a lot of cool undiscovered stuff like this along the Mississippi, that’s pretty dang cool Bud, Thanks For Sharing!!!
Thanks man. It was cool getting to see it in person. Some friends of mine went and saw it and found a huge flake knife. I’ve been so damn busy lately I haven’t had much time to go looking.
.Wow my friend, what was I missing. I imagine a native on that great rock capturing his art, that place is incredibly beautiful. I see there some dotting techniques for engraving, I see images similar to those in petroglyphs in my area. Especially fish, birds and what they saw around them. I uploaded a video where there are hundreds of petroglyphs in the same area. I have visited many areas of petroglyphs but it was several years ago. Maybe I'll come back to see them and show them to you.
Hey thanks for stopping by. That petroglyph is kind of rare to see. It is on the banks of the Mississippi River and is usually under the water. It’s only visible in extreme drought conditions. It took most of the day to get to it and find it. We are going on our anual float trip this weekend. Hoping to find something out on the river.
As far as I know those stones have always been there. There is sketches of those boulders from the Lewis and Clark expedition. I saw your post of what looked to be an axe that you found. I bet that was sick.
This is really cool did u go look on the other side of the river there's another one over there one has the river carved into it I can't remember what else is on it
Thanks. I think that’s the same one. The line I was calling a snake in the video is actually supposed to be a river map. It was really cool seeing it in person. I appreciate you checking it out.
@@aarongreen5577 too cool!!! He is how I found out about those petroglyphs! It’s a cool area. Just hard to get to. I sat there for the longest time trying to imagine what it looked like back when they carved it.
The water level was quite a bit lower when we went there. It's a really cool site, that very few know about. Edison was a really neat dude, I'm pretty sure I was the last person to talk to him. He loved showing me his book collection.
@@aarongreen5577 I don't think they want to many people to know about it. You tube wouldn't suggest this video for people to watch for some reason. Glad you found it.
as always enjoyed watching thanks for sharing 👍

That is awesome. I wonder how old it is.
They believe it was made around 1000 years ago.
I wonder if that stone was somewhere else when it was carved and got washed down stream. 🤷♂️

@@SeMoArtifactAdventures yah, it only has a little damage on the poll end. It looks like it's from use.
Awesome video buddy!!
@@alexpalisch1036 thanks man. I appreciate it. It was cool finally getting to see it in person.
Hopefully now some punkass won't vandalize it
That is so cool it does look like a bird, its amazing do you know much about it like how old it could be? Thanks for sharing 👍 🙂
Thanks for checking it out. They believe it dates back to about 1200-1400ad. It’s amazing the river hasn’t destroyed it.

Made the walk to those years ago. My neighbor at one time was Edison Shrum, if you know who that is.
