This was the first trip of the fall to a couple of sites out in the old swamp. Most of the stuff was broken but I was able to come across a couple nice complete pieces.

This is from two different trips. The first part was filmed up on the village site and the rest is from the honey hole site. We have been getting slammed by thunderstorms so I knew something had washed out. I covered a lot of ground but I was able to save a few artifacts.

Killer blunt! Nice finds man good luck out there
@@jessethornton5060 thanks. It’s a cool one for sure. I was super happy to find it.
Heck yeah Trey !!! That Blunt is awesome and the point would make me dance a jig. Glad to see this video this morning brother. I'm happy for ya brother. Hope you're healing more and more everyday Trey. Many blessings my friend.
@@kevinkline6835 thanks Kevin. I’m getting a lot better. It’s still tough to sit on stuff since I broke my tail bone. Between that and putting in a foundation for a house beating me down. 😂. I’ll make it. Don’t have a choice. 😂. I was happy to find that blunt. I’m still not sure what point type it is. There are several similar in my area. I was just glad to find a little time to go look. Building this big house is kicking my butt. I don’t have much energy left when I get off. It is what it is I guess. I appreciate you checking it. Always a pleasure getting to talk to you.
@@SeMoArtifactAdventures I'll be praying for ya Trey. Wish I was able to be there to help ya out. Been a long time since I've butchered wood or bent a few nails. So I guess prayer will have to do. Stay safe my friend.

Two excellent pieces my friend. It must be a scraper coming from a broken point. That full tip is very beautiful to me, I like that type of stem. BLESSINGS ALWAYS TO MY GREAT FRIEND.
@@coyotearrowheadhunting3083 thank you sir. It’s nothing like what you guys come across. The farm equipment is tough on the artifacts. More and more farmers are refusing to let people look in their fields too. They will eventually be turned to dust. I try to save as many as I can from being destroyed. Thanks for checking it out. Be careful out there and good luck.
Heck yea, some nice artifacts, well worth the stomp, sweet blunt, those things are rarer than hen’s teeth for me😎😎😎
@@greatbasinman I don’t find many of them but that one spot as produced a bunch. I have some strange scrapers that came from the village site. One is sharpened down like a deer antler. Dang Trey, Very sorry to hear about your accident and pray all are ok. It seems like bad luck is this years theme for many of us. I hope things start looking up for you and yours my friend. Tell Nick I said Hi and many blessings to you all.
Hey Kevin! It's been tough going. The girls were ok thank God, but my wife broke 5 ribs, and I broke my tail bone and my nose and got some good scrapes and bruises. @@chancesmith1031 I’ll have to do that one of these days when I get some free time. It may be in several parts. Most of the stuff I have is broken unfortunately.
@@SeMoArtifactAdventureswould still love to see it, i’m sure it’s great! I am from the Naylor, Neelyville, Coon Island area of Southeast Missouri. My brothers and I do a lot of artifact recovery.
Dats not good. Nice fix
Simple fix. Run C channel iron side to side. Bolt into 2x6 or 2x8 every couple of ft. Done a bunch of them. Illegal workers screw these up all the time.
If you're going under the joists like that, why not a steel I-beam? I just did that in my garage to get rid of a support/lally post, and steel was the same cost as an engineered lam beam.
@@bnasty267 that’s just what the engineered drawing called for. We were able to put each beam up close one at a time and then nail them together once in the air. It’s a whole lot less to lift that way.
@@SeMoArtifactAdventures Makes sense. The I-beam required a lifting jack and 2 other guys helping. If you do these often enough, it's worth considering the jack or rental, since it's hard to beat a nice I-beam. If you're doing hangers, I'd totally just use a lam to make it easier with no steal drilling.
Garage door opener might be running on the garage door.. 🤔
Looks to me like the issue is all the junk in the garage attic.
@@BigLeo8772 the original beam was a joke. It’s a wonder it didn’t break years ago. It was actually hanging from a hip rafter by one 2x4. Once the nails gave, the beam snapped in half.
What the heck was on the second floor a 10 person hot tub 🤯. Good work there.
Never thought to put a clouser on a tenkara 👍
@@rtrilla lol. I wasn’t casting it as much. More of swinging it into the current and holding it there like a minnow trying to get upstream. They were coming up and smashing it.
Made the walk to those years ago. My neighbor at one time was Edison Shrum, if you know who that is.
@@aarongreen5577 too cool!!! He is how I found out about those petroglyphs! It’s a cool area. Just hard to get to. I sat there for the longest time trying to imagine what it looked like back when they carved it.
The water level was quite a bit lower when we went there. It's a really cool site, that very few know about. Edison was a really neat dude, I'm pretty sure I was the last person to talk to him. He loved showing me his book collection.
@@aarongreen5577 I don't think they want to many people to know about it. You tube wouldn't suggest this video for people to watch for some reason. Glad you found it.
@@aarongreen5577 Thats awesome. I appreciate you taking the time to check out the video.
🧯🔥
Good finds! Broke or not. Sure would love to see one of those big side notch Godars lying there whole! Thanks for sharing
@@artifactaddiction you and me both. It’s only happened twice in that field. I have several blunts but most of them are snapped in half like that. Thanks for checking it out. I appreciate it.
What did you use to spray them with?
@@scruff5644 wasp and hornet spray that I found in the cabin. No telling how old it was. Had to be the good stuff.
If that is a tooth, it's from a horse maybe
It’s teeth still in a jaw bone.
There was a huge swamp up towards the Great lakes area. I think they called it the Black swamp, not positive of that. How big was the swamp where you hunt? before it was drained and turned to farm land.
It was massive. It’s one of the largest engineering feats of all time. There is some cool videos on here about it. It’s called the little river drainage project. It’s a big system of canals and levees that divert numerous creeks and rivers out to the Mississippi River. There are still small protected areas of the swamp that still remain. Most of them are full of Indian mounds.
@@SeMoArtifactAdventures That is history i didnt know, what county or counties is that located in if you dont mind me asking. I was going to buy a piece of property in Illinois. That border the Mississippi river and was next to the Is Shawnee national Forest. I was interested in Deer hunting it. But my now X talked me out of it, what a mistake. I wasnt into Arrowhead hunting to much then, but i am now. Wish i had that property now. That is crazy that was a swamp, it is good to know not all the mounds were destroyed. Its it private property or state property were the existing mounds are. Sorry for all the questions, im a new subcriber to your channel. Even though ive watched some of your videos from before. Take care and best of luck saving those artifacts from the plow and farm machinery.
@@C.M.R.Artifacts-qu1ey most of the mounds are on protected wetlands sites. Some are privately owned but they are still protected. I’m not sure how that works. The swamp covered multiple counties. It started just south of Cape Girardeau and runs all the way down into Arkansas. I’ve seen some old maps of southeast Missouri when there were several huge lakes that covered most of it. Most people have no idea they live in the middle of it. It stinks you missed out on that property. Probably worth a small fortune now too. Thanks for checking out the videos. I appreciate it.
That nothed artifact at 6:13 looked like the base to a paddle drill
Yeah it could have been. I’ve found several broken drills in there. I’ve got a couple mid sections of some that are huge. Almost 3/4 of an inch in diameter.
I hope the wind was cooling on such a hot day! Those godars look like a well made point type! And the polished broken rock looked very interesting! Nice long necked point also. Take care.
The wind is the only reason I went out there. 😄. Those Godars are very well made. I’ve got a lot of them from that field. Most of them look like those two.😄
As always of late I'm last to the party Trey. Glad to see you out having fun brother. It's hard to find the good stuff in fields once they have been walked to death. No til farming just breaks everything up. Glad you rescued what you did. Hope all is well brother. Many blessings.
Hey Kevin. It’s been hard to get motivated to get out in this stupid heat and unbearable humidity. As soon as you step out the door it’s like trying to breathe through a hot wet towel!😆 I took the girls camping this past weekend. We spent the whole day in the river. Of course I saw all kinds of cool stuff to film but didn’t have my phone. That’s always how it goes. I hope you have a wonderful day Kevin. It’s storming here so I got out of work. Well the hard stuff. There’s always paper work to do. 👎
@@SeMoArtifactAdventures Hope it starts to cool down for ya Trey.
I have never searched in a crop field, I am going to try it in one where in times past water has accumulated where they sow. Those broken bases with side notches are beautiful, that scraper with a large blunt tip blade and small broken base is very rare. That last one has a big stem, it's what you expected to find friend. BLESSINGS ALWAYS.
Prepare to have your heart broken!😄. That machinery is hard on the artifacts. Every once in a while one makes it out alive. One tip I have is if you find a concentrated area of artifacts follow the rows out away from the spot. I believe the whole points get caught up in the equipment and dragged away from the site before it falls out. I find most of my whole points on the outskirts of where they were camped. I wish you the best of luck out there.
I’m glad you’re finding some decent relics Trey! Here in central Illinois it’s been dry, hot and the weeds in the forest are 5 feet tall! I can’t wait for fall, that and spring, less humidity and bugs. Thanks again and good luck in the future!!
Me too. Fall and winter are my favorite times to get out. You can always put enough clothes on to stay warm. You can’t take enough clothes off to stay cool. Legally. 🤣. It’s been awful. We went camping this past weekend and tried looking for points in the river. Only found some flakes washing out of the bank.
We had a little rain yesterday but not enough for the crops , still hot and dry. Nice finds
Its been miserable. I've been building a two car garage on the side of a house with no trees in sight. Makes it really hard to get motivated to wonder out in the mid-day sun to look for points.😆
Hey, they’re all relics. The last one had a Hardin look to it👍🏻
That last one looks Hardin to me.
It's got that look to it. I was thinking it may be a Kramer. I've found a few in there before. I just wish that Godar would have had the tip on it. It was very well made. It has big thinning flakes running up from the base. Almost like it was fluted.
@@SeMoArtifactAdventures yeah, they were a knife form starting out.
