I was doing this on dodos, and my first mutation was a blue beak on a female... i bred her with a male with no mutations, when she laid her egg, another female laid hers at the same time, when they hatched, both eggs had triplets, and all of them had blue beak mutations! Fuckin insane

Super informative. I was breeding a 1 mutation out hoping to get new colors...now I know to stop doing that and going back to 0 mutations. You're a time saver! BTW, not sure if you remember that my Unicorn was lost in the snow biome, but I found it yesterday! He was running away from hyenas a little further away. Saved him and now he's locked away in his pen, safe and sound. Thanks for the great vids. 😀

While watching this video, I was breeding some Thylos and I got my first mutation! I think it’s speed since I don’t see any stat boosts, but the color was a red for the stripes/paws. It rlly cool and I’m excited for more mutations in the future 😁

That's actually really cool! I had two dire wolves (female was cream with a grey back and grey feet; Male was dark grey with black back and grey feet) I ended up getting a female baby dire wolf with a cream body, somewhat dark grey back and, get this, RED feet!! I also bred her to get even MORE babies with red feet! Also those dire wolves were wild tames and I didn't breed anything before it, I got pretty lucky there, and thanks for the informational video!❤️

Thank you for this video! Makes it so much easier to understand :) Also breeding two creatures that have the same colors makes it a lot easier to spot mutations if they happen!
I don't really care about colors but I will be here for the stat mutations + I'm seeing this to make my sabertooth army stronger and deadlier.
i got out of 2 turtles with mutations purple shell red shell mutation and the next egg a cyan blue body with purple shell turtle so goddamn lucky got wiped tho

I think jerboas are harder to breed thou cause they come in lots of diferent colors, so right now im just getting a LOT of jerboas in a house and letting them breed. I think thats the best chance in finding mutation jerboas. But with larger dinos I think ill try use your method. The tutorial was great!
It finally makes sense, I've seen so many videos where their breeding for mutations and I never understood how it worked or even how they knew it was mutated, I'm so glad I found this video.

I'd really like to see the cyan or red belly on the purple...i mean lavender body 😉 Once again, great vid! I'm working on argy and archa mutations currently, and just fyi archa's mutate about as much as your terror birds lol so frustrating. Also a tip, I breed a pair until I get twins that are 1 male and 1 female with same stats and level, then use those as my main breeders. Helps to spot stat mutations easier since they will be higher level than the parents😁

HAHAHAHA you sound like Kerry the crazy Kat lady! lol I had a breeder friend IRL and i asked her about breeding and she started talking about colors and mutations, and she had as many cats as you have Thylo's and would talk word for word like you! so really this game's breeding is really great! Very realistic, we can all be crazy Dino/dog breeders with out actually hurting anything! ^^ its great

One time I was breeding Allos and one of the eggs hatched and it was TRIPLETS! I was so surprised, didn't know that could happen! Twins too, but man. I almost couldn't keep up. Now I have some fruity looking Allos because of their vibrant mutations.

@@roccompany2267 I was kidding lmfao, I thought you got the joke. "How are they hanging?" It's a suicidal joke but whatever. That dino in exact can climb walls that are 90°. It can climb from the front of its body and the back. So to do that trick he did on that wall is just lead your Dino backwards to it and it should start climbing it backwards.

How did you keep your breeding animals from moving once you enabled wandering? I built a small pen to breed direwolves in, and the babies would sometimes glitch into the floor.

Great explanation! I am finally understanding mutations.
But if you are breeding 2 all brown thyla(or any dino, just using thyla as example) will you NEVER get any different color offspring? Or will they 100% always be the same all brown color like both of their parents are?
i'm breeding otters, and have gotten two colorless mutations now so they have the same pattern as all the otters before them....should I still not use them to mate or does it not matter considering they still have that same pallet to pick from

i know of the latching on the walls, but does that not let them actually wander when on wander? ive also seen others in breeding videos that they park them somewhere and set to wander but they dont move, and not with a full weight limit, is this a mod thing or vanilla game mechanic?
man all these breeding videos go over my head.
did they reduce the breeding range or is there a setting to expand the range? when i put 2 females on one side of a male it doesn't reach the second.

So, I love your breeding barn, but for some reason, i can't get my thyla to hang nice and tidy like that, they either wont grip the doors (at all ever) or they just fall off as i dismount (where i have them on the wall. I have made my wall 6 high to the roof, doors down the bottom and walls all the way up etc. Can you please share your secret? I was using metal and glass (s+ stuff) do i need to use vanilla stuff?

Is it bad if I breed the babies back with the mother or father since they will be the same color? Because I’ve done that before and I was just making clones at that point or should I introduce a new mother/father?

what happens if you're breeding parents that look identical but have a bunch of mutations? got a patrilineal with 8/20 and matrilineal with 18/20 but wanted colours as they levelled higher, should i start over?

What's your mature speed and how long does it take for them to grow
What do you do with the babies you dont want? Do you kill them and harvest them for meat or do you just unclaim them once they are grown?
So if you have a dino that has been breeded down the family line multiple times then would it have a chance to get a mutation from all its ancestors even if theres hundreds
You should do a build for that breeding pen if you could.

On my server max wild level is 210 and once they tame it becomes 314 and I've been breeding stats together on my rexes and ive finally hit lvl 404 on hatch. The rexes are white on EVERY region (obviously I've been working on this a while) so is having white on every region good for colour mutations? BTW for people with max lvl 150 it would be 315 on hatch

I have two Spinosaurus that I plan to breed that I tamed from the wild. Both the male and female are black with a tan underbody, green spines with red tips but the male is slightly brighter. By percentage approximately what are my chances of getting a color mutation?
I live on The Island in Ark, just across the rainforest and the snow biome, beside a small pond that will constantly spawn fish. It is a great base area. Just stay away from the beach! There will be an almost constant spawn of dangerous creatures. (Mainly sabertooths). Anyway, the "perfect location" is just at the far left away from the beach, past a massive boulder that will always be there. I suggest this spot for higher levels, even tho absolutely NO DINOS will spawn on the spot you will settling down in. Just across from the spot is a tiny little patch of land with rocks, crystals, trees, and bushes. Don't worry. No dinos will spawn there. Your "spot" will be across from a snowy beach, a giant ice arch with big blocks of oil for u to harvest. And when u keep going forward, just above u will be a small form of land with dead trees and bushes. When u find a way up there, there will be a bunch of metal to harvest.

I got a mutated baby therazino. I can see the melee boost but I swear there is no color difference. Does that mean a future baby might get a new color?

watched a few of your breeding videos and maybe i missed the info, but if i had just bred for super dinos.. i got the stats i wanted... how would i breed for color from there? that's the part that loses me lol
