LIVE at a Fire Station: My Dream Job

- There are all kinds of stations all over this great country. Some are small others are large but everyone does what they can with the staff and equipment they are given. Rescue Fire Company 37 has been serving Susquehanna Township since 1950. They pride themselves on the fact they are volunteers and provide quality care to the residents. They have created a LIVE IN program that can accommodate 10 personnel. They have an Engine, Tanker/Tender, Heavy Rescue, and a Tower/ladder truck plus a special ops unit with a gator for wilderness rescue and boats giving them a well-rounded response to any emergency. If you live in this area and are looking to become a firefighter the Rescue fire Company 37 is the place to be. They have a junior program as well, letting people start at the age of 14. Thank you for a (Resident) live in Station tour. I like how as you are going through the neat Station (all Volunteer) you ask the question of how a Local person can JOIN the service to the public. Resident Program's are a wonderful idea for a NOT payed full time staff. I did it for meany Years.

Hey Mike,another interesting video. Here in the land down under aka Australia our fire trucks/engines are for the most part one in the same, could you one day do a video explaining the differences between a truck and an engine and why they are a separate appliance, could you also explain why the piano hinges on the doors?
Yeah we can work on that. Let me with that an engine does a different duty than a truck company a truck has the ladder or tower on it and goes to the roof or does search an engine is the primary suppression vehicle for the incident?
Nick is the perfect ( Resident) volunteer FF. Myself work with a Cadet skills center set up by Local school district. The Chief of one of the Local FDs. Very much is involved with are program
He welcome ( Residence) students from are program to Live in his Station's. The Department he overseers has Payed staff, but very few. The Station has a brand new Air refill/ Rehab F-550 Rig. It goes on calls not just in there District, but all of the surrounding areas, it's right down what the Cadets are TRAINED for in the Cadet program. It's so rewarding to watch the Cadets at a Fire, assistant the Paramedic on FF Rehab
( Taking vitals) fluid loss to FF body's, just the fact that we have a Chief who Loves the Cadet program, let's them Live in his Department station, has a special Rehab Rig to go out on First alarm Fires, ect. ( The Cadets spent meany hour just last week) at a Trench rescue ( body recovery) the Cadets were there doing what they trained for, for meany hours.
Sharing the live in rooms is a crazy concept for my area. The 2 departments in my area that have a live in program are near colleges and offer individual rooms which you can furnish to taste.
