Great video. I use sand, wood ash (from my smoker) and a little d. earth. It's always been a hit with my hens. I just found your channel today and am enjoying it!

Thanks for sharing, Danielle! I use diatomaceous earth. I was not aware about using ash though. Thanks for the tip! All my best!

Great idea for a present for my granddaughter - I can get the stuff and make it. We get so much rain in FL so would a tire be a bad idea as she has a mix of ducks and chickens and I don't want the ducks to be swimming in the chickens bath.

Tricky situation you might want to try a kiddie pool then so that the ground water doesn’t go inside. Best of luck!

Yes,our chickens make dirt baths wherever they can
I make something that I add to my flocks diet to help with their health
It cayenne, sage ,basil ,thyme turmeric, nutmeg, very little garlic, cinnamon, and rosemary. All powder spices and herbs only like in small bottles in your kitchen
and I mix this with their cooked crushed Eggshells in a jar and when I feed them every day I mix about 3 tablespoons in with about 10 cups of feed for my 70 chickens
Here is how this will affect your flock
    Baked Eggshells; good calcium
Sage; reduce risk of salmonella in the flock
Cayenne; boost egg production by warming the body and helping the digestion and blood flow in chickens
Basil;helps mucus membrane and respiratory health and gives healthy orange yolks
Thyme;help respiratory health and other organs
Turmeric;provides essential vitamin B and E also aids in digestion and helps maintain healthy skin eyes and brain function
And is the treatment for baby chick wry neck
Rosemary ;deodorizer pain reliever and respiratory support for your chicken you can also plant this around your coop for insect repellent
Nutmeg;reduces inflammation or inflammatory conditions of chickens protects chickens of dangerous bacterias and sickness this is very important for chickens
Garlic ;boost immune system and deworming but can only be given in small amounts 1-2 times weekly
Cinnamon; has about 50 quality’s but here is some,,, helps them digest and absorb their nutrients better ,heathy eggs and chickens improves immunization by enhancing activity in their gut flora
Remember;;;; all of these are powerful and never feed too much and use powdered spices and herbs as well don’t give them any random herb do research first to make sure it’s not toxic
And mix this with mealworms or bakes and crushed eggshells and add some to their food or just put it in something separate and leave it out because sometimes they may want regular food
    They cannot taste the cayenne
But sometimes they may want plain food my chickens and ducks eat about 5 cups of reg feed and 10 cups of this feed every day and when I put 10 cups of food in their feeder bowl I add 3 tablespoons of this stuff
Just know your chickens will be healthy and happy if you add this to their diet
    Also
Honey water; immunity boost and so many vitamins and Heather feathers as well great supplement for molting or egg layers
And if your not mixing it with eggshells or anything then use 1 tablespoon of powder for 10 cups ,
thanks for reading this have a nice day
May God and Jesus bless you today❤️
