So nice to see you for first time with reaction to ABBA songs "Take a chance on me" (1978) is one of their best ABBA hits in all the world, the most selling song of ABBA in U.S. (more than Dancing Queen), #3 in Billboard U.S. one of their four Top10 in US : #6 Waterloo (1974) #1 Dancing Queen (1977) #3 Take a chance on me (1978) #8 The winner takes it all (1981) This is one of few song than the vocals are more extensive than the music (They begin 'a capela' and singing at the end) the blonde singer Agnetha is the lead vocal in the solo verses, her voice is so powerful, in perfect armonies and chorus with the brunette Anni Frid in co-leads vocal (and the boys in back voices singing repetitive the frase 'take a chance, chance') Agnetha & Anni Frid have fantastic voices and harmonies together Agnetha is soprano Anni Frid is mezzo soprano and together made a 'third voice' the guitarist Björn got the idea while jogging, by the sound of the footsteps he interpreted t-k-t t-kt and adapted it to "take a chance, chance, take a chance", so the song was born Although it is a disco europop, it's like a constant and happy march, captivating, cloying, addictive There are an official video filmed on January 1978, a month after Agnetha postpartum (She was mother of her second child, with the guitarist Björn, in December 1977) It's one of their most funny official videos It begins with a zoom, like the old TV serie in US"The Brudy Banch" (and was used a lot un the social media for the COVID times) these is a TV special ABBA in Switzerland, in February 1979 and one special comment in the official site of ABBA there's a section of articles about some songs, of "Take a chance on me" the tittle Is 'the firewall of innocence' I hope to see more reaction to ABBA I wish you a greatest week My best regards from Buenos Aires, Argentina 🇦🇷 South América
ABBA was privilidged to have 2 genius songwritters(Benny/Bjorn) featured here and TWO female leadsingers.Agnetha(blonde)/Anni-Frid (brunette). Each girls had their share in lead ,to many Abba hit songs and of course many times sang lead in unison.Their vocal blending is utopic and according to specialists create the phenomenon of a '3rd voice".As another fan stated Abba's vocals are a 'Universal treasure" in the musicverse.
ABBA is one of the most versitale groups in music history, with so many international tophits (has sold second most albums in the world after The Beatles). Both girls are great singers, especially together. In Europe, Australia and Latinamerica ABBA had huge success during the years 1974-82 and their timeless music came back later in theatres and movies aswell.
The '70s gave to the pantheon of pure pop music scene some of the most unique female singers ever such as these two Swedish babes, Frida and Agnetha as well as Olivia Newton John and of course Karen Carpenter.Such crystal clear voices are out of these world and hard to find .Can't be replicated.
Some '70s teenagers USAwise connect Abba to 'Dancing queen' and that's all.But in the rest of the globe and here in Europe where i grew up ABBA is still an unbelievable phenomenon in the music culture, that have a solid emotional bond with music listeners of almost all ages. They were very much a band with all 4 members integral. Even the name of the band is made up from the initial of their first names Anna, Benny, Bjorn and Agnetha. The two girls both sang lead and were the main force behind the stunning harmonies while the guys wrote the music and played the instruments and chimed in with vocals, even lead here and there. They are one of the biggest selling bands of all time with a multitude of pop hits but in different genres and with their inimitable ABBA sound. Songs varied from light pop fare such as this to more complex sounds, Disco, rock, classical, folk ballads and anthems... So they are a great band to react to as well as being Universally loved.
Agnetha (the blonde) is lead singer on some songs and Frida on others. Both have extremely successful ABBA songs and also very successful solo singing careers. When they sing together the sound is special and has been called a "third voice". There are very few ABBA songs which do not produce a very positive reaction - have fun trying to find them. Also check out the songs they produced recently - after a 40 year gap!
More reactions to Abba please. Agnetha (the blonde) many times she is the main voice, Frida (the brunette) in another times is the main voice, but in general, Agnetha stands out or is usually the main vocal of ABBA, she is my favorite, and yes, before and after ABBA she was a soloist, even until now that she has just released a new song.
You can't stop asserting that Agnetha is the main vocal of ABBA, yes? IT'S NOT TRUE, no matter how often you repeat it. They both had the same amount of lead songs. And don't come with things like she is always better to hear because that is also not true. There are even Agnetha lead songs where one can hear Frida's voice stronger than Agnetha's.
@@Lisa-M In any musical group, band or in general, there is always a leader and a person who stands out a little more than the others, whether due to their talent, charisma, beauty, etc. and in ABBA it is Agnetha, just stop thinking with your emotions, and start analyzing, of all the ABBA songs, how many of them are sung on lead vocals by Agnetha and how many by Frida?, the people, fans, other artists, They leaned a little more towards Agnetha, and in their relationship with Bjorn, that does not mean that the others have little talent, Agnetha simply stands out a little more, because the other members are great and super talented, to think that they all have the same talent equally , it's nonsense and it doesn't happen in reality, you like Frida more, and that won't change even if you see that reality is that, tastes are subjective, but talent and who has more talent are objective issues.
