So do I have to be a great player for a unofficial visit
No. If you’re a really great player you’ll go on an official visit. School will pay for your hotel, plane tickets, i think some food. With an unofficial visit you still get a tour of the school but you have to pay for everything.

What does a email look like when they offer you a official visit
You would know by the email! They would come right out and say we want to bring you on to campus for an official visit.
